When will you just simply acknowledge that they don’t help? Of course only success will bring the crowds back in the main, but we can improve them on what they currently are. We can do that by not punishing people that may be wavering. We need to be encouraging these people, not annoying them!

I think people are way too harsh on Bell and overestimate Williams’ ability....

Apart from moving goalposts and a load of nonsense. The way I see it is still: 1- There is no justification for the surcharge. 2- We could still be doing more to attract people to the games. P.S- Blueboy, I think Chaddy has you on ignore as well. ?

We need to increase attendances, not find things to put people off. If tickets were cheaper, we’d get more fans on, it’s not difficult. Obviously not as many as we’ve lost since relegation, but more would come. The club should be on bended knees grovelling to the fans after what has happened over the last few years, not having this half asses approach. Quite poor going down the ‘can’t be assed to support your team’ route. That’s not sound at all.

Like many on here, I’d like him to chip in with more goals and assists from the wing tbh. But one thing you can’t fault is his effort, commitment and desire. He plays like his life depends on it and IMO, will go down as a bit of a cult hero from this period in our history. I’m just glad that we’ve got players like him to support that embody the spirit of the club and not the mercenary wasters that we’ve been accustomed to over the last few years!

A surcharge isn’t a reason people don’t attend, but it’s another barrier. Walk ons aren’t THAT cheap, so really it just doesn’t help.

We were good tonight with a second string out. I really hope for their sake that isn’t their full strength XI as that’s as bad as I remember the USA being.... They seemed to want to get it to Pulisic then hope for the best. A bit like us with Dack in some ways ?. Lots of positives tonight against fairly weak opposition I would say....

I’ve no problem with Rooney at all tbh. I do feel he’s come in for some over the top criticism from fans and pundits alike. But this just seems a hit unnecessary tbh. He’s retired already, can’t he just let it be?

I was in London this weekend already, so I bought a ticket some time ago for this game tonight. Have to say, I wasn’t exactly jumping for joy about giving Rooney a token cap when he’s already had so many....

I'm not making a point about the impact of it, I'm making a point on the need for it. Can you tell me what the need for it is? I still don't know. In any event, people would still have to go to 4 games over the course of the whole season to make it worth being in the reward scheme and never receive the surcharge.....

There's no need for the surcharge, it's as simple as that. We need to attract fans to games, not make it more expensive. (Though I accept, in the overwhelming majority of cases, people will know before the day whether they can attend or not).

You're missing the point. Of course it isn't much money, but it's just pretty much unnecessary (like the surcharge) now and it's served its purpose. Last season, with away games with lower allocations where there was a chance ST holders might not be able to get a ticket (Fleetwood), it made sense. This season, with higher allocations and grounds people have been to before, demand isn't as high. We need to be doing more to encourage people to attend, not to deter them from doing so.
