I've always felt public criticism of players is a sign of a manager who is not in control. Unless it's something seriously egregious, those things should be kept private. Doing it after one league game is lunacy.

Noticed this in the game yesterday. Both Hedges and De Neve were deep infield. Was a risky move as our fullbacks were exposed and we got outplayed and couldn’t compete whole of first half. Rw is definitely needed as we have spent many years being easily worked. Opposition didn’t need to do homework as we were so predictable. Signing the right players for a system I’m all for it. But not signing another RW would disrupt us from switching things up. We need someone not to just challenge hedges but to ideally replace him -

Sadly what you're asking for in a player is someone we probably won't be able to afford. For example, if Kargbo was a better decision maker he'd be playing at a higher level. -

We could time it right, pay both under the 10k wage cap and when one is out for 2 months the other one can come back -

I made the point of asking LT after the meeting if id been any of the above She stated ive always conducted myself professionally and respectfully in all meetings she's attended in 15 years. I'd also say, the derogatory manner they spoke about those who have left., would need our transfer budget to pay the resulting fees. In 20 years its the most unprofessional panel of employees ive had the displeasure of sitting with for a couple of hours .

Things have settled since surgery thankfully. Just reading fans comments on the situation and some are really uneducated remarks. Some players have had good careers out of football whilst having this condition. But over the years many players have retired or didn’t reach top level football. If the fee is right then I would say take the risk as he’s highly thought of in Sweden. But we need to factor in that top level teams may be put off with the condition and any potential sell on could be effected. -

Signing the lad with Crohns sounds far riskier than signing Baradji with a stress fracture to me. In general though, am I the only one on here who's completely unenthused by the constant mention of signing players with pace and height? That's all very good IF they can play a bit as well but not if they look like they've never seen a football before when it arrives at their feet. I'd rather hear descriptors like, "very skillful player" "technically good" and "good tactical awareness" over mentions of what a good athalete they are every day. As the old saying goes - "A good big 'un will generally beat a good little 'un." However a good small 'un will generally beat a crap big'un as well! -

Agreed re the quality (seemingly of those three) FWIW - Those who’ve watched us seem to think in possession, that we become 3421, meaning the RB (Miller) pushes into midfield, the left side (De Neve) stays in situ, and the LB (Ribeiro) becomes a LCB. What it also means is that the RM tucks in an attacking position, next to Cantwell and behind O’hashi. If this is correct then Henriksson and Baradji perfectly fit that RAM birth. So we wouldn’t need a RW. -
As things stand the new FEP suggest everyone can attend the FF going forwards , be that 100, 1000. In terms of minutes I dont think there is anything now to stop all attendees writing their own or indeed reporting what was said , as its clear no one can be excluded. Minutes coming out when out of date is not an ideal situation. I believe these are still stuck with the club.

A huge task ahead - opening games in the Championship don't come much more difficult than this. Not impressed with any of our new signings so far and I think we go into this game far weaker than we were last season. We needed quality additions in early and it hasn't happened. Momentum and confidence is everything in the Championship and a bad result on the opening day can set the tone for the rest of the season. Sadly, I think WBA will win by at least 2 goals. -

Perfect sense. Don't buy a proven injury free midfielder for £2-3 mill on champ wages. Haggle the fees down for 2 potentially talented players due to the known medical history. Cheap pay as you play contract for both. Sign both for less than the experienced fee and lower combined wages. One is injured till December so the other starts. When he gets injured around Christmas, the other guy is ready to go. You can see the cogs in the minds of our execs beginning to whirl. -

Yes, that's clear, but unless Mill Hill St Peters come in with an offer, he's going nowhere. Same for any of our other (alleged) 'high earners', which is probably a recipe for disaster, as having someone on the team who is regarded as surplus to requirements is hardly going to be good for morale. Someone get those blasted VENKYS OUT!! -

Axel Henriksson Set for Blackburn Move as Swedish Midfielder Undergoes Medical Blackburn Rovers are set to complete the signing of Axel Henriksson, with the Swedish midfielder currently undergoing a medical ahead of a permanent move, according to reporting from Daniel Kristoffersson. Henriksson, 23, has been a standout in the Allsvenskan last season and is expected to join Rovers in what would be his first move outside of Sweden. The deal marks the latest chapter in a career shaped by both misfortune and resilience and one that could align well with the demands of the Championship. A right-sided central midfielder in a 4-3-3 system, Henriksson profiles as a traditional box-to-box engine. He scored eight goals in Sweden’s top flight last season, frequently arriving late into the box and contributing in the final third. But his attacking output is only one part of a broader game defined by aggression, intensity, and tireless defensive work. “He’s always taking the offensive runs, always a threat but also a ball-winner who never hesitates to slide in,” a fan of GAIS told RoversXtra. “He was the most booked player in the league last season, which says a lot about how involved he is.” Though his disciplinary record is a consideration, Henriksson’s leadership qualities and personality have made him an integral figure in one of Swedish football’s most remarkable recent rises. After being released by BK Häcken in 2022, following an ACL injury and a change in the club’s coaching staff, he joined a third-tier side newly relegated from Superettan. Three years later, they are one of the most stable teams in the Allsvenskan. “He’s been central to our back-to-back promotions and our survival. Without him, we wouldn’t be where we are,” the same source said. “He’s smart, honest, vocal, loved by us, and often hated by opponents for exactly the same reasons.” The expectation within Rovers is that Henriksson's physical attributes and work rate will translate well to the Championship. Though still young, he arrives with significant senior experience and a track record of influencing games on both ends of the pitch. Assuming no late complications, Henriksson will become Blackburn’s latest summer addition, and one whose arrival could add intensity and balance to a midfield already in transition. -

In common with most of the Championship, the local Baggies are not exactly delighted by the transfer window so far. The biggest change is likely not to be signing but a fit again Daryl Dike coming up against us. That guy is a highly mobile monster with a strong finish who is highly likely to get the better of our defenders, whoever they may be. Busy afternoon for Toth but we should be competitive elsewhere on the pitch against one of the Championship dark horses for promotion. Rovers to play well, not take key chances and go down to a hard luck but not undeserved 3-2 defeat.
