  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah Blackburn and Darwen obviously now Burnley marketing territory - they are a PL club, after all.
  3. I wonder what will happen when BwD is scrapped and the councils of there, Hyndburn, Burnely, Rossendale and Pendle (and perhaps bit of Ribble Valley) get sqished together as is proposed. We'll probably abolish marketing altogether.
  4. They signed a midfielder for Β£3 million yesterday or day before
  5. Looks like nobody can be arsed updating the kick off times on here: https://www.rovers.co.uk/matches/results/
  6. Luton were linked to Travis when Edwards was manager there, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's on a list somewhere.
  7. Although the 92/95 team wasn't a one-man band - as could be seen by how they maintained performances in the 2nd half of the 92/93 season without Shearer - it is fair to say that without him we wouldn't have win the league. The 2000's teams under Souness / Hughes / Allardyce were much more a sum of their parts and less reliant on an individual talisman.
  8. Today
  9. Lower league and non-league clubs are one of the few places that still take large amounts of cash on a weekly basis
  10. Apparently each deal is worth "up to Β£3M" Jones Kante Which by my maths, is more than Β£0 Also If Hackney is sold, Boro will sign another midfielder, with options in mind who they’d hope can come in and make more of an instant impact to replace a regular starter. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up with Brittain & either Travis or Tronstad
  11. They also have bought 2 players in the last few days. And had the delay of a managerial change.
  12. I imagine that comment will age like milk by the time the window is closed, As they have demonstrated in recent seasons, they spend upwards of 70% of the money that they bring in, and they are just about to bring in another Β£20M +
  13. Middlesbrough have sold players worth over 50 million pounds over the last 2 seasons. They haven't spend ANY money on transfers so far. Let that sink in too!
  14. The cynic in me says, Venkys are making sure that relegation will happen this season. Eustace and Szmodics have kept their plans on hold for 2 seasons.
  15. I would disagree personally. Puerta was ok there last season so is just making that deal permanent, if and when he can be registered. Brandon Williams I wouldnt touch.
  16. Without factoring in outgoings, I think many would rather take the players they've signed over the players we have. If someone said to me we could swap just Gustavo Puerta and Brandon Williams as permanent signings, for all 4 of ours - i'd probably take it πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  17. Absolutely. But in this window, I definitely wouldnt say that Hull have had a significantly better window. Lots of teams have improved on paper more than us. Wouldnt include Hull.
  18. They also have had a lot of departures from their first team squad But that being said, if Rovers were under an embargo, as we have seen before, we would end up with Sacha Petshit and Bengali Fode Koita, rather than a Brandon Williams, who may have a questionable character, but is a potentially ambitious signing who could make them a good profit if they get him back to previous levels
  19. To be fair, I am really not sure they have. Ajayi and Famewo have injury historys, they are having trouble registering the top 2 (Puerta was there last season), Phillips is a sub keeper, Ndala is an untested kid and Williams hasnt signed but has a questionable character and hasnt played for a while.
  20. Very interesting, thank you. There appears to be no end to the number of people who want to own clubs but (seemingly) shouldn’t.
  21. Archer was never going to play, but Stokes will be a miss. Bumrah out for India also, so that even things up a bit.
  22. Haven't you heard? We've improved on last year and all of our existing players are now demonstrably better than they were 2 months ago.
  23. Absolutely, with no replacements for Weimann or Dolan either.
  24. Low crowds due to years of going nowhere due to poor ownership and management coupled with high prices is not a boycott.
  25. I don't know what a real one would look like then, probably much like this.
  26. Stokes and Archer are like vintage cars - push them too hard and they break down Atkinson and Overton have themselves had injury problems this summer while Wood is a walking hospital case These players don't play anything the amount of "red ball" (first class county) matches like those of the past and perhaps that's the problem - they're not match hardened
