  1. Past hour
  2. It'll be interesting to see how long Wrexham's owners give Parkinson if results don't improve. He could quite rightly say he needs time to adjust to so many new players, as the squad themselves have to gel, but one imagines if they're struggling towards the lower end by mid-November there may be some movement.
  3. Very early days yet. Some of the signings look promising, others don't, but it's a long old season. The only player I think looks very poor is De Neve. Alebiosu is the one I've been most impressed by so far. Morishita has the potential to be a great pickup. The rest, we'll see. The big test will come when we get a few injuries and/or suspensions, as will inevitably happen. I don't think there's a need to rush and credit (or discredit) Gestede yet, as there's still a long way to go.
  4. Yeah, you're asking too much of Tronstad there, we'd be overrun. If Gudjohnsen becomes as good as we hope, I could see Ohashi playing on the left, as an inside forward. Or even behind the striker, with Cantwell wide. You then have Mori on the right, with Kargbo as an impact sub. From an attacking perspective, it's a definite upgrade on last season.
  5. Yep, either Babb or Scales (or either). It's an absolute lazy opinion and does the amazing work done by Kenny/Ray/Tony a massive disservice.
  6. Don't forget Berg, Atkins and Le Saux! One of my favourite come backs about us 'buying' the league is that we built our entire back 5 defensive line for less than Liverpool paid for Phil Babb..
  7. Cantwell canโ€™t tackle. Thereโ€™s no place for him in holding midfield.
  8. Today
  9. I am going to this one... gone from considering us having no chance to quite hopeful after the last game. I think Ipswich will want to play on the front foot which will suit us as we would like to counter. I am pretty happy with all our players at the moment except Tavares who seems a liability at present in terms of the way he loses the ball and misses tackles in key areas. I anticipate teams in their preparation will start to really target him as he seems to want more time than he really has, and struggles to compete physically. He could grow out of it as he acclimatises to the Championship, but with Gudjonsson staking a claim creating a lot of competition up top I think it's a great opportunity to try Cantwell out deeper. Team for me : Toth Alebiousu Carter Wharton Riberio Cantwell Tronstad Ohashi Mori Hedges Gudjonsen Subs : Pears, Miller, McLoughlin, Pickering, Tavares, Kargbo, Gueye, Tyjon, TGH
  10. No, it's a great example, that was the first thing I thought of when I read your previous post. Sentiment can't stand in the way of progress in football
  11. Szmodics, who would walk into our starting 11, was on the bench for them in their last game. Which shows you what we are up against. I think we'll get beat 0-1, but we'll push them all the way.
  12. Yeah if they have big doubts that the manager is right for where they are now, theres not much point allowing loyalty and perceptions about what they "deserve" to overrule that for a randomly chosen period of time. Its a poor example and there will be more obvious ones, but I remember the outrage when Southampton sacked Nigel Adkins and appointed Pochettino. Adkins had done a good job and didnt "deserve" to be sacked, but the choice was still a good one.
  13. Do you not see with this self imposed wage cap, we'll never progress as a club? Our better players will always leave for more money and it's not to clubs in the Premier League anymore, it's Boro, Derby and Wrexham. This set up will inevitably lead us to another relegation to League One.
  14. I am hoping Hearts can finally do it. 1985 the last time a team that wasn't Celtic or Ranger won it. The old firm have won 85% of all league titles in 135 years. Why anyone watches it I have no idea.... But my cousins are from Edinburgh and big Hearts supporters so got my fingers crossed for them!
  15. Just checked me map, yep, Blackburn is east Lancs, cheers RTID!
  16. Is anyone else having issues with digital tickets this year? I had no issues last year at all but for the Birmingham game my tickets wouldn't download to the Google wallet and having just bought for Ipswich I'm having a similar issue, the club are zero help so I assume it's not a widespread issue but I wondered if it were just me and my slightly knackered phone...
  17. That was more my angle, both teams have invested a lot or money. There isn't good backing without the expectations that they will do something. How long do you leave it? 10/12 games is a quarter of a season, which is a lot of ground to make up if you leave it that long. Wrexham might be looking at establishing themselves in the division this season but I have no doubts the Birmingham owners have an eye on the PL.
  18. If you don't want a response, then don't post.
  19. What a load of bollocks, I can't understand what point you are trying to make
  20. You mentioned bollocks, I was yellow carded for the knobhead word, after some heated words after the Norwich game.
  21. If you got out of the east lancs bubble, you wouldn't be watching Blackburn Rovers.
  22. Aren't Rovers based in east lancs.
  23. Blackburn or Rovers, who cares same team. I say Blackburn sometimes, so I don't get mixed up with other teams called rovers. Get a life, what does it matter.
  24. Talking of superstitions, I've worn the gold away shirt for the opening 2 home matches. It will be staying in the drawer next Saturday.๐Ÿ˜€
  25. Wow, you been on the bevs? Nothing wrong with the post at all, certainly doesn't warrant a response like this.
