Your end of season summary

of course its relevant as we had what we expectations before the season started but for some reasons you won't or can't say what yours were, maybe cos we over achieved this season but that wouldn't fit your argument would it! I would say the players more than Eustace as they are the one on the pitch who has to delivered it on the pitch. -
He's been here for 13 years and in different roles

the players are already being flogged to death as well (that amazingly silly world club cup for one) so no idea how long a football career will be in ten years time, they won`t be getting 2 months off in the summer thats a certainty -
More BS about standards. Hedges is good squad player for middle team club like us and on our budget We need a new midfielder anyway cos we Forshaw is out of contract and as I said previously I wouldn't renew. So we could need 2 if Buckley moves on what are you going on about now! Carter and Batth both had spell out injured this season and Wharton is coming back from long term injury so why the hell would he take a risk of leaving yourself short or putting too much pressure on Wharton playing too regular in this area again. We had it this season when Carter was out and we had to keep playing Batth and Hyam cos McFadzean couldn't play in back 4. Plus Batth is a year old.

It’ll never end Gav, never. The majority of fans are decent enough but there are idiots on both sides of the divide and the idiots up there are off the scale. We talk about this sometimes on the way up on the bus. Some areas of Scotland are as bad as, if not worse than, Ulster. I hope away fans aren’t banned again, as it’s been good to see half decent followings this season at both grounds. PS. I can do the Tina Turner doll for you at half price £4.99 😬🤣

BRFCS Player of the Season - 2024/25 ⚪️🔵
Ossydave replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Only just by the looks of it, can't really question the 3 that are in it though. If there was an award for most improved player, more common in youth football, he'd have won that hands down. -
Fear a relegation battle to be honest. Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester coming down plus money-spending newcomers in Birmingham and Wrexham means that the league will likely become tougher next season. If we don't start well and have a fifteen or twenty point cushion away from relegation spots heading into January, then we're in trouble. We all saw the collapse at the turn of the year with a fragile squad once key players got injured due to the intense match schedule. In addition, if we can't get Travis, Tronstad and Brittain to sign new contracts or replace them properly if they're sold, then we're pretty much doomed for season 26/27 anyway. So yeah, my expectations aren't particularly high given how the owners and board have treated the club for the past fifteen years.

What are your expectations for next Season?

Baath and Weimann being replaced with kids or cheapies. Not beating any of the promoted sides away. Making a mess of Preston away. -

Trav getting injured at Millwall. The start of the rot. Baker leaving a few games later and then Tronstadt getting injured compounded the lack of depth in that position. Plus Baath getting injured. If either of those two didn’t happen we’d have done it comfortably. -

If we're looking for one incident, then losing Weimann was the main factor. For a team which doesn't score many to lose it's top scorer, was a big deal. That game at Sheffield was made for him. -
Now that Wembley is paid off there or thereabouts, I wouldn't be surprised if word of the Community Shield moving to America or the Middle East starts. Spain have had theirs in Saudi for years now, and of course it is a four-team tournament instead of a standalone fixture. Amazon Cannons (AKA Arsenal) v. Tesla Blues (AKA Chelsea) to kick off the inaugural 2030 English Super Cup Championship at some field in the desert near Riyadh at 0230 GMT on Boxing Day morning.

I dont get why the first part of your judgement is around whether he claps the fans. -
Agreed. It would really take something special to get relegated with some of the teams that often float towards the bottom and I dont think people factor that in as much as they should. You think of us last season, PNE this season and Stoke on a number of occasions. An absolute mess yet manage to avoid relegation.
-
Its irrelevant what people said before the season. We were in the top 6 for a big chunk of the season and fell out, provoked again by how badly we are run as a club. Obviously they deserve praise but I definitely think thats its not controversial to suggest that the biggest reason for us being up there was Eustace. It does come down to standards. Im not going to wax lyrical about a successful season considering the running of the club has caused us to be in the top 6 and fall away at the end due to how terribly we are run. The feeling looking back is frustration and anger, not positivity. And its not a building block because its built on quicksand.

Stop talking such bollocks pal in 12 months were gone from almost being relegated on the last day of the season to just missing on the playoffs. Pundits predication us to be relegated or bottom 6, yet the players and head coaches proved that lot so wrong. Did you expect Rovers to be playoffs candidates this season or not? you don't praised them for this season but willing to give all credit to Eustace -
I do wonder in say 10 or 20 years how different still the football calendar will look. Games in the early hours, games hosted in different countries, doesnt bear thinking about.
-
No, I dont. Youve suggested this before as if the 2 options are to move no games or to have free reign to move the vast majority. There is a middle ground. You are fixated with the European fixtures which make up such a small minority of games moved across the season simply because you dont have TNT sports. Ive suggested before that on weekends where a couple of teams have played on the Thursday and cant play on the Saturday, then make their games the Super Sunday game. Ive also suggested the things that I would propose: - dont move numerous games to the same time. 1 is plenty. So say Friday night, 2 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday and one sometimes on Monday. There are 6 slots, there is no need to move more than 6 of 46 games in a weekend. That way, youve got a televised game in every slot. We dont need for example 8 or 9 to choose from on Saturday dinnertime. - no team can be shown over a certain amount of games per season, or consecutively. Unfair to keep moving games for the same sets of fans week after week. - decide all TV games at the start of the season to allow transport to be arranged. If they miss the odd important game, tough. It wont happen because of greed and disregard towards fans from all concerned. Again, not interested in Spanish TV times. Totally different culture.

Rogers played there cos Newton was injured I assume, I went a few games before I saw Newton play against Preston might have been Xmas time .

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
FE123 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The clubs transfer strategy won’t differ from the last few years: Listen to and negotiate any offers for any first team players Offer 1 or 2 experienced players 12 month deals (Batth/Weimann/ Fleck/ McFadzean etc) Spend small fees over a number of instalments for players on low wages from abroad with the potential to be sold on. Bundu won’t happen. He’ll find a club in the champ willing to pay him more than us, and the club won’t give him 3 years at the age of 28. On the balance, Rudy will say the recruitment of Yuki/Gueye/ Toth/Batth/ Kargbo/ Cantwell/ Weimann have been successful. We have gone from relegation fodder to on the brink of the play offs. Yuki/ Cantwell/ Gueye/ Toth and Kargbo won’t have reduced in value and if one has a good year next season, they will be flogged on. I even think they may sell Gueye this time round for a couple of million.
