  1. Past hour
  2. It’s so easy to go down divisions in sport, yet brutally hard to go back upwards. Rovers Women’s team have gone back a generation today. No matter what you think of women’s football, it’s a bad look and a narrow minded, short term decision. Another tremendously embarrassing day for our once proud football club.
  3. Get back from Ewood on Saturday night 1979:
  4. Halfway up the PL when they took over. As others have said they’ve either cut, or tried to cut every asset of the club. Someone tell me what hasn’t been cut? No money available for anything. No ambition. No honesty about anything whatsoever. There’s only one possible worse situation that I can think of. Liquidation.
  5. Managed to get a dig at the fans in there… ‘Regrettably, despite all Rovers Women’s league fixtures being played at Ewood Park last season for the first time, there was no noticeable upturn in home attendances, resulting in the absence of the substantial matchday commercial revenue and sponsorships required to support continued investment at Tier 2’
  6. The 'current model' being bleed the club dry of all assets, cut costs and reinvest nothing. Absolutely shameful.
  7. But, but it’s the fans fault, not the lying bastards who run and own the club. That has never been the case. You are mistaken about that.🤔
  8. Great post! This all begs the ultimate question ‘why bother owning a football club in the first place?’. Roundly hated by all and disinterested in football/the club/the town. It makes no sense.
  9. Never refuse to sign a cheque. Venkys out.
  10. sick of the happy clappers on twitter defending the decision
  11. Don't remember this chapter in Shakespeare 😂
  12. Also, I will add, as I fear they may get lost slightly amongst the rightful onslaught that hopefully comes the Club's way, my thoughts are with the Women's players and backroom staff who have just been utterly shafted by the bastards who run our once fine and proud Football Club. The days these fuckers no longer darken our door should be celebrated more vociferously than May 1995.
  13. An out and out disgrace but entirely within character for this absolute shit bag two bit brainless untalented feckless piss pot amateurish nouveau richest ham-fisted uncaring unloved ownership We've laboured under for almost fifteen years. I wish a pox on them, their wives, their kids, I hope they shit pineapples every day for the rest of their no good oxygen draining lives. I hope their long dead ancestors return from their graves and shit in their dinner. How much longer must we endure this agony
  14. Today
  15. Quote from the Rovers News release - This decision follows a comprehensive review of the evolving demands placed on second tier clubs, which have become unsustainable under our current model... Presumably this means 'Run by utter gobshites?'
  16. Absolutely vile from the club. Further shame heaped on our once good name.
  17. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c9wgg8y881lo BBC article shedding more light on how poorly they've been treated. Meetings postponed yesterday and earlier today before they were finally told in the afternoon.
  18. Maybe it's just me but it's hard to consider a club "competitive" as a fan or a player if they have just chosen to be relegated. Who would want to be part of a team that could never be promoted because they don't want to invest in success?
  19. ‘Only have 8,000 ST holders, good thing the club transitions away from a Cat 1 academy as it costs £2million’.
  20. Horrible, short-sighted decision and a sign of the penny pinching things to come this summer with regards to transfer dealings for the men's squad
  21. “Will probably get more than 400 angry comments which ironically is 100 more than the average attendance. All these angry fans who haven't even been to one womens game. Good business decision. The costs were gonna go to 600k.” some fan of twitter’s just said this. We deserve this, happy clapping our way into non existence.
  22. The coalition barely have time to reload with amount of ammo the club keep giving them.
  23. the club is`nt marketed well at all,men or womens side,it appears they hold fans in disdain
  24. Voluntarily relegating yourself. The kind of thing you see at fourth tier rugby because it’s too much travel and expense for an amateur operation. But the absolute antithesis of professional sport.
