  1. Past hour
  2. I reckon that’s Pickering’s sick bucket the lad is carrying.
  3. I'd say that a Burnley fan would have struggled to make more of a mess than the existing owners, so on balance I'm pretty confident in saying that with other owners we would have been better off. Maybe still a Championship club yes, but at least one that operates like a football club should.
  4. Yeah, just look at the subs bench. A vital part of modern day football.
  5. As it stands, I don't think we will get relegated next season. I think 2 places have already gone - Hull and Sheff W. Also think Charlton will struggle and will be the third team. QPR are on a strong downward trajectory too. Lower mid table as it stands for us right now unless we add some serious attacking talent. If Trav and Tronstad both go then that could change things and push us into big relegation trouble.
  6. It absolutely could do, if they're thrown into the first team too quickly and make loads of mistakes. Then dent their confidence in the process and their careers never recover. Countless examples of that over the years.
  7. No problem at all with them training with the first team. They 'get through' when they are good enough to force their way in - either by taking advantage of a gap appearing e.g. suspension or injury, or when the manager deems them good enough. I find it interesting that this is precisely what happened with JDT and Adam Wharton - he got his opportunity when it arose during the season after impressing in the cup, seized it and never looked back. It was a natural process - he was clearly good enough and his transition into the first team was handled well by the coaching staff. This obsession however with 'creating a pathway' - the purpose of Blackburn Rovers and the nature of the Championship beast is not to 'create pathways' for youngsters - it is to win games and try to be successful AS A CLUB, not for individuals and their transfer values or so Venky stooges can be congratulated on future sales.
  8. Well we know little for sure. Its surely a safe assumption based on widely reporting bids in particular for Kapuadi.
  9. Delusional and laughable. 21 year old Montgomery last season spent time at Marine and Chorley seemingly going nowhere other than the exit door. Played very limited time in our 1st team and suddenly you think he can step into the shoes of Travis or Tronstadt!?!? If the capability for our centre midfield is the energy to run box to box then maybe our scouting focus should shift to Blackburn Harriers!
  10. You'll eat shit and like it... Pay for it even.
  11. Siding on not liking it. Even putting the colour aside, the images are too random and repeated too much, they should have found more things to identify the town. It's like the took the feedback to the map on the pink shirt and tried to come up with something similar to tie the shirt to the town, but the result is far worse IMO
  12. You couldn't possibly know whether he was or wasn't first choice.
  13. Did he slip? Did his "cover" in front of him do his job properly ? Had he been left with 2 to mark? Did these successful dribbles result in poor delivery, because Mclaughlin had pushed his man onto his "wrong" foot?
  14. I don't think this matters. He can sign for whoever he wants and Rovers can't do a thing about it, the fee will just be settled by tribunal, probably in a few years with how slow they go.
  15. I was under the impression you didn't have to register players under 21 for the squad?
  16. Pathways and projects. They can still be part of the squad without us just assuming that they are all ready. Some might go out on loan at various points too. All I am saying is we shouldnt just assume that they are ready. So for example, we need a right back if Brittain goes. We needed Tavares and will need to replace Travis/Tronstad if they go. Montgomery shouldnt be seen as a replacement in any of those positions. If hes ready, theres no reason that he cant also play minutes as well. But if hes not, then we dont have to still repeatedly flog him. Equally, we need cover for Cantwell. We shouldnt just assume that Tyjon is ready now. Its unfair to do so.
  17. Complex how? He had know months he was leaving Rovers this summer so surely feelers were put to potential clubs and what his wage demands were but what Rovers were looking for terms for a fee?
  18. We've been straight with FFP for a while and recently has probably been the best opportunity in a decade to invest in the squad significantly. Coupled with the good periods of form and league position at Christmas by not 1 not 2 but 3 previous head coaches the time was never better to give the club a real push but no they didn't want to know. Oh so conveniently they can't invest because there is a problem over in India of their own making. The FFP excuse might have stood up in the past but no any more.
  19. and we desperately needed another body in quickly with Carter's cramp!
  20. So how do young players come through to first team squad then? Good job Adam Wharton pathway wasn't blocked by senior player isn't it. Why can't you have 25 man with Michalski, Montgomery and Tyjon part of that squad?
  21. I think I will be in a minority but I think it's really nice. It gives some identity to the town.
  22. Adam Wharton does not make Spurs title challengers.
  23. We are nowhere near FFP limits. And pretty easy to say that we would be better off without Venkys.
