  1. Past hour
  2. Great post, how I feel about it too. This shouldn’t be a personal choice but about the greater good, about saving an institution that is our club.
  3. Police figure attendance could be less than 6000, the day before the nation, goes back to work and it will be bloody freezing!
  4. This comment hits home hard this Cold morning...feels like the Club we all love is a lost cause. Will be interesting to see the attendance on Sunday!!
  5. My take on it too - the owners are not going to sell up, ever, because they don't need to. Rovers are a minor irrelevance, and the club's long term fate on and off the pitch is of little concern. The club ticks over on minimum investment and their man in the club manages the day-to-day stuff that is of no interest to them. We've been placed in the metaphorical bottom drawer, maybe to be looked at again at some point in the distant future I cannot see what might shift their stance, other than an embarrassing loss of face from an event that drew international attention.
  6. The sample that @rog of the rovers made for us was far superior & more authentic
  7. I get the feeling they would be even more embarrassed if they sold to someone who was actually successful (even a finish in the play off spots would surpass anything they have ever managed, so is not too difficult a task for someone vaguely competent, with a bit of cash and an actual knowledge/interest in football), than if they were to keep us in this zombie state for the rest of eternity. And as such, refuse to even consider ever releasing us from their clutches
  8. Channelling Gandhi is a new spin on it.
  9. They are not going. Pune might be a city of 5 million but in reality it is a village of a few billionaire families who watch each other like hawks with petty jealousy. That is the millieu that matters to our owners. Any embarrassment at relegation or forking out £20m per year is long gone. Instead in Pune and indeed in India they are the only family living there who have outright control of an English football club and in a town where Empire was most visible in causing distress in India. (Why else did Gandhi come to Darwen?). Not being in the Premier League doesn't matter and in fact I am convinced the Premier League was the only sports body ever to call them to account no matter how half heartedly. There would have been hell to pay if Kean hadn't achieved the objective of getting us relegated when he did. The loss of face in divestment of Rovers would be far far more painful for them than the current pergatory.
  10. Today
  11. It is the repeated misjudgements and cock ups which are so draining. I get that he is here for damage limitation for the Raos but he is a one man demolition derby of balls ups. Not fit for purpose for them, for the business, for the football, for the town, for the fans, for anyone.
  12. Trondstat's body language during the last 15 minutes told you the full story. I agree with Parsons that the squad has enough to avoid relegation but yesterday showed that I doubt that this squad has the mental capacity to survive.
  13. The iron on platicar badge and pears kit were personal highlights for me in terms of showing the rank amateur operation. They’d clearly forgotten the keeper kit and hastily had to add the badge to a blank. The shiny plastic Maltese cross looked terrible
  14. Devries was signed from Hull, maybe a loan, not sure, left back. I didn't go to the that game, I went a couple of years earlier, relegation season, Rathbone made his debut ( I think) and Wagstaffe came back from Blackpool, McKenzie was signed a couple of days later..
  15. Worse than Coyle or Kean? Are you on meth? Out of all the deranged shit that is on the internet that's well up there.
  16. I think in the build-up to the Watford game the coalition should be releasing a series of "Facts about the last 15 years" with a new one every two or three days. Getting our message out there and winning the information war is absolutely crucial. The facts are completely on our side.
  17. I'm not sure how much traction a boycott of the Watford game will get. Sheffield Wednesday did it well though. It needs media coverage. They'll report the attendance figure with season tickets included so the numbers won't look horrendous. I was looking round the ground today and noticed how much the stewards/police stand out in high vis jackets. Maybe everyone could start to turning up to games in high vis vests if they want Venkys out. It'd look like we just had a crowd full of stewards on TV.
  18. I heard someone behind the Blackburn End after the game today say something along the lines of: "It's not Venkys fault we can't spend, it's FFP" It's a shame FFP only applies to Rovers. Hard to see how we get rid of these idiots when we have fans who can't see the problems.
  19. I think Cantwell is really talented - but I just can't take to him. I feel like he doesn't want to be here. I saw a few players signing autographs before the game (with my son). Some of the players are really engaging with the young fans, it always seems like a chore to him. He's not the sort of player you need captaining you in a relegation battle either. The atmosphere was completely flat again. It's crying out for a player to put a few thumping challenges in and get the crowd revved up (I'm not suggesting Cantwell is the man to do this). Miller looks the only one capable of doing this, but he is so technically poor it's untrue. If you could combine Cantwell and Miller into one player - you'd have a gem. If you're reading this Rudy, I mean Cantwell's technique and Miller's aggression/drive. Having seen what you've signed so far, I'm fully expecting you to find someone with the reverse qualities.
  20. Prior to today, I've been saying he's the worst player I've seen in a Rovers shirt. I felt sorry for him today. He worked hard in my opinion, but only got 26 touches of the ball. He's clearly not a striker and the service to our front men is non existent.
  21. We are 20th because of the owners, the cheap people they employ and the distain they hold the club and the town in. Players come and go, seasons come and go, but Jesus wept, we need rid of this owners and sharpish.
  22. Watching today & wondering with the anniversary kit, is the badge the plasticy ironed on style badge for the cross? If so feels a very cheap kop out & small detail (but one which makes a difference, and sums up the club) - for £80 or £200 in a box would at least expect something sewn on & some craftsmanship to it rather than a badly placed Maltese cross on a white plain grandad shirt - must have cost pennies to make too
