Wasn't it £17 for adults bought online last night in the riverside ? They really need to do something similar in the Blackburn End because they've killed it. -

We're just too easy to play against at home. It's like we don't have a midfield, it's one simple pass and the opposition are running at our defence. Defensively, it's like watching the team under JDT in his second season. Eustace had us so well set up and hard to beat, but now it's like knife through butter. -

The turnouts or lack of them aren't helping anybody, come on 7-8k turning up it's pathetic. Yes we know all the issues but this is dire now if we want the team to win we have to give it all the help we can because by god it needs it. Back the team NOT the regime supporters are supposed to support other teams fans seem to manage it but here people are just staying away because we aren't winning. I'm talking about the 12k we usually get not the missing 10k from 2012. All that it will do is hasten the clubs demise because some of those in power are looking for any and every excuse to cut back even more. These are league 1 crowds and the least we can do is try and fight that off instead of contributing to it. Not meant to offend anyone but cold hard facts are sometimes harsh although non of this detracts from the poor efforts on the pitch at home which are inexcusable whether there is 5k or 25k there. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

I think he's a poor manager but doing an OK job considering the backdrop of what he's got to work with. The fact we're not in the bottom 3 (yet!) is an achievement with this squad of players. If we got rid, who would come in? It would be someone cheap, desperate for a job, and possibly even inferior to VI. I think we will just have enough to stay up as we've got 5 of our best players missing at the moment and we seem to be able to sneak a win here and there. Sonny is absolutely key. Huge gaping holes in midfield without him. Such a top player. -
We start games so slowly and have done since Ismael came in. First 5 minutes , opposition have a big chance, big save, corner, big chance. It seems this happens every match. Even in the games we won. Hull, Leicester, Preston this happens. Its got to be a mentality thing when they leave that changing room. You can get away with not forcing the tempo away from home but so impassive at Ewood gives us a mountain to climb to grow into games, coupled with rubbish players who cant pass 10 yards or win 2nd balls.

It’s the (continued) muddled thinking that’s perhaps the most bonkers aspect with those ‘running’ the club. We only gave Ribeiro a new deal, what, 6 months ago? He’s now seemingly not part of our plans whatsoever. He hardly set the new season on fire, but one suspects it’s wage related. We then give Cantwell the captaincy just prior to the first ball being kicked this season just a couple of months ago. Again, call me (and many others) ever suspicious, but he’s clearly being marked for the exit door. Pointing out the obvious but they make things up on a whim dependent on how they feel on a particular day. Working under this lot must be utter torture for the average sane person.

Todd Cantwell - is he off?
JHRover replied to ruggles1995's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
And just remember, the money they make/save by sidelining Cantwell and selling him in January is more important to the stooges than having the best side possible at a critical time of the season with us embroiled in a relegation battle. It's never been about the football. All about individuals and targets/bonuses. -

In what respect should we pull our weight a bit more?I I think the answer is pretty much in the rest of your post but to apportion any blame towards the fans is feeding the narrative from the shysters who drove them away. -

There is no excuse regarding the centre backs. We knew how injury prone they are yet didnt bother to replace Hyam anyway. Toth, Tronstad and Cantwell are unfortunate, Kargbo is no loss. The squad and starting 11 shouldnt look so weak still. -
Rovers's January transfer needs
roversfan99 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Its not another Paul Downing we need. Its not a young defender who had been nowhere near our first team that we need to recall. We need a couple of centre backs of the quality to come straight into the starting 11. We massively miss Hyam and Batth. We knew we would. Gestede has filled the squad full of players that are absolutely woeful from random leagues. De Neve, Henriksson, Gueye, Kargbo, Tavares etc. Even the more domestic ones, Gardner Hickman struggled for game time in League 1, it shows, McLoughlin couldnt nail down a regular centre back spot when at Hull, it shows. Miller is so poor on the ball. Its frightening that these players have been signed to kick start a supposed overhaul of the squad. Cheap, sub par crap. -

I don't think we have any idea about what promises were made or not made during the job interviews. If Ismael was lied to he could have done like Tomasson and Eustace and jumped ship, but you could argue that he's being professional by staying at the club and trying to make the best of a bad situation while JDT and Eustace simply threw their toys out of their prams when things weren't going their way. How much would it have helped us if Ismael walked out on principle when they sold Hyam? I'm not defending the owners or Gestede, but they are who they are and need to be taken into account as such. -

I'm quite fond of Ribeiro, perhaps not full quality but could atleast play some decent passes from the back. Him in the line up for many games then to be halted was when our left back problem arose -

The other old chestnut is - who would get a better tune out of these players. Look at who we had missing yesterday, half the first team. Would this team have played so poorly ? Toth Alebiosu, Carter, McClouglin, Wharton, Hedges Tronstad, Cantwell, Taylor-Hickman Gudjohnsen, Ohashi There were players starting last night that in normal times wouldn’t even make the bench. Let’s have it right. 5 key players with bags of experience all missing. - Today

Rovers's January transfer needs
Commondore replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not rocket science. With the current formation we're desperately short of strikers and centre backs, although I'd prefer it if we kept at least some faith in academy players like Pratt rather than signing another Matt Kilgallon or or Paul Downing. We also need someone to challenge and/or deputise for Alebiosu at right back. There are currently about 27 left back in the squad so we could do with losing one or two of those, and the manager clearly has no faith in Gueye which means he should go as well. -

So do I. The chances are that our away form will take a turn for the worse at some point. And based on the stats thus far, our manager is incapable of drawing, let alone winning, home games. -

No way can anyone blame the fans for either not turning up, or not creating an atmosphere, after all we have witnessed. That last night was shocking and I fear it will not get better and just hope we can carry on getting some points on the board away from home. Ismael is a dud and as already pointed out, his home record alone, is cause for him to be sacked and if the results performances and other off the field activities do not change and quickly, this will end in disaster. To sum things up for anyone who wants to have a go about attendances, where have the owners been over the last 10 years and given that not a single one of them turned up for the centenary game, that says it all, as if they can't be arsed, what else can anyone expect. -
The irony of Ismael bemoaning the loss of Tronstad last night. The same guy who we're seemingly happy to just see go for free at the end of the season as he's (probably) close to, or above the ridiculous wage cap that we have. Hickman/Montgomery is a sign of things to come in that department as we have clearly seen they cannot identify and sign a decent central midfielder if their lives depended on it.

No engine in the engine room without Tronstad. Cantwell is our playmaker but Tronstad is what makes us tick when he's on song and the players around him are awake and aware of their surrondings (unlike last night).
