  2. Looked to have sold out for Cov 👌 there were around 40 left last night when I last checked now it's blocked out
  3. I best remember Fred for that home game against Arsenal. we were all worried because Douglas was out injured. We needn't have, Fred ran riot.
  4. I guess my point is that Spain team won everything they competed in with broadly the same set of players over 6 years which no one else has ever managed.
  5. I was at the Blackburn end right behind the goals. So I got a perfect view of Fred’s “ wedding gift “. Funnily of all his goals that’s the one I remember best.
  6. As I said, it was the first game after the big freeze in 1963, we did well to have any grass at all. Widnes RL club tried to beat the freeze by putting some fancy chemical on their pitch. That killed all the grass !
  7. Today
  8. I was there.----Darwen End. Great time to be a Rover.
  9. "OK lads balls away now please! Just put all the talent in that bag please pal"
  10. Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?
  11. Obviously paid for a human graphic designer, rather than asking chatGPT to rustle something up..
  12. 'See how I can kick this without looking at it, that could be your head Sonny Jim'. 'Think on'.
  13. I'll try and get some pictures when I'm up a mountain or something like that.
  14. Delighted to hear it…it’s a well-travelled shirt 👌
  15. I am not sure that self reflection is either encouraged or allowed
  16. Yesterday
  17. Look at the pitch Tyrone .... quite good by Ewood 1960s standards!
  18. I really don't think that matters when they won 3 out of 4 world cups.
  19. Just received mine yesterday and can confirm it is excellent.
  20. Me too, it was the first game after the big freeze in 1963. Fred Pickering had got married that Saturday morning and both teams gave him a guard of honour when they came out. They really gifted Fred a goal later on. We’d been on the attack and it broke down with the Utd goalie getting the ball in his hands. He threw it out to Albert Quixall about 30 yards from goal. As he did that Fred was crouching down tying his boot lace. Quixall got the ball under control but he was quickly closed down, so he turned around and passed the ball back to the keeper, just as Fred stood back up ! The ball went straight to him and he just turned and banged the ball past the keeper into the back of the net. Matt Woods, Denis Law, Fred Else and John Bray in the photo.
  21. Much appreciated - thanks for supporting the site 🙂
  22. We tried to start something a few years ago using material supplied by Harry Berry but changes in personnel in BRFCS Towers slowed it down then a software upgrade killed it off completely. We have the technical capability to resurrect it…just needs contributors… Rob Sawyer has been on our podcast. His mum was a Rovers fan from Blackburn. We’re his 2nd team. He wrote a book on Keith Newton a while back.
  23. S-S-S-Suhail the Snake! Anyone know where to buy a mongoose?
  24. Always miffed at him for that and not playing the Wharton brothers. At least they would have been fired up for it.
