  1. Past hour
  2. VI, like several other managers, has probably been lied to about recruitment. He certainly won’t have expected to lose points because of a waterlogged pitch, which was due to lack of investment. You do wonder how long our owners can keep pulling the wool over managers eyes, they come in with the best of intentions, but are quickly hung out to dry. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
  3. It is to downsize the club to a level where they no longer have to fund it. They want the club to be self-sufficient.
  4. Was just about to say the same. He'll get sacked but only when the window is shut.
  5. It's a really good point - stop suggesting the lack of crowd will materially impact the players. The boycott is principally to draw more attention to what's happening to the CLUB. Wouldn't be surprised if we actually play well and win with an even tinier crowd and less pressure..
  6. We would need the ins and outs of the contract to even hazard a guess. I'd avoid saying any figures as I know people from the club will read this board not worth running the risk!
  7. Mowbray had his death spirals but this is beyond that. They've left the club to rot and Gestede and Pasha are just the grave diggers. And neither own a spade.
  8. I agree. Both thanks to shit ownership.
  9. If that was his plan then it confirms what we already knew, that he isn't very bright.
  10. I think Rovers and Sheff Wed will be relegated long before anyone else.
  11. It's about giving off an impression. Gestede's first managerial appointment after he had seen off that annoying Eustace so it was all about showing everyone there was a plan and a project for the longer term. I'm convinced part of his ability to persuade the dogsbody that he was the next big thing was to show that Eustace was a 'short term' manager - pointing at his transfer dealings with older players like Batth and Weimann - whereas Gestede was able to provide something 'longer term'. Handing 'his man' 3.5 years was a message - I have a plan and this is it being delivered. All sounds and looks good until you have to put it into practice with minimal funding and idiots running it.
  12. Perhaps someone lacking the appropriate experience got a bit giddy, and the other guy who hasn't got one clue about footballers and managers just agreed as it was lunchtime, and the nice biscuits were out.
  13. Injuries are part of football, but the volume and morale of players and fans is down to the environment. Rovers has suffered the same fate, fading away for the last 5 years, but when has the manager or board going to look in the mirror. The lack of planning, transfer gambles, common sense around letting the whole spine of British, championship experience walked out the door was criminal. The attendences are poor so i'm not surprised the players prefer playing away with some atmosphere. The injuries are because: The recruitment over the years has been terrible so players can't get rotated as quality nose dives. Most recently Val played Litherland & Forshaw 3 games back to back .... hamstrings gone The pitch at Ewood is a mud bath and will take its toll on the players The pitch has resulted in playing 2 extra games I'm sure there are more examples Val and the board can't moan, they caused this. The fans have a right to moan and be worried for the future.
  14. VI will leave on the 4th feb after a drab 1-1 against Sheffield Wednesday. Transfer window will be shut, the fanbase will be split in the 'Give it Dunny til the end of the season camp' and the 'i'm not going to another game until all these shysters have left.' More infighting within the fanbase and ultimately we finish 22nd on goal difference come the end of the season.
  15. Ismael is only here to do what this regime wants, and that is to downsize the club to a manageable level for them. Plenty more work to do after the first relegation is confirmed, whether that this season or next season.
  16. Ismael knows he's been left with a squad that isn't good enough, he knows there's no proper backing in January, he knows the 'project' is doomed and he knows he's at the end of his tenure here. Even if you ignore the other nonsense and results, he's a coach that tends to last a maximum of 12 months at a club (30-40 games) before he moves on. He's reached that point here now. This notion that he's suddenly going to be here long term and deliver success after 8 clubs in 8 years before coming here was fanciful to say the least but sums up the ineptitude of those running the club and handing out 3 year deals. He needs putting out of his misery for all our sakes but he won't, because the vile people owning and running the club don't care, they'd rather he suffered, we suffered and we get relegated than be proactive and do the right thing. Nice people though yeah.
  17. He looks exactly how JDT did when he'd realised the game was up.
  18. Won’t be sacked and no chance he will resign as past behaviour indicates the club would want paying off. We are going down and then the word will be continuity 🫣
  19. There are still enough defensive options available to make a better fist of it but the system and tactics are all wrong. Sets up to just make use of busy high pressing forwards and the shaky defence has no protection at all. His answer is just keep swapping people around because defensively he hasn't got a clue. Whole thing needs to change and become negative as Eustace did and prioritise clean sheets now. Even when your defenders aren't that good if you give them help and protection in front of them things will improve.
  20. What would be the comp on sacking VI now? Interested to know...
  21. He looks like a man who wants to be sacked. The body language, the demeanour, shows a man who does not want to be in the job. His position is unsustainable and he knows it. In days gone by a manager in that situation would have resigned by now - no question - but the payoffs are so lucrative these days they hang on. The club should put him out his - and our - misery
  22. If he goes it will be February again so that the new guy has no influence on the squad and they promise them a rebuild (downgrade) in the summer.
  23. You shouldn't be watching another team when your own team - the one that pays your wages - is playing. We were playing on Sky+ so why was he not at home watching that? Clearly has no interest.
  24. As it stands, if Tronstad becomes unavailable the centre midfield first choices are Forshaw and T G-H. Has there ever been a worse midfield in the club's history? And when Forshaw breaks down (as always) the back up is Montgomery (out till March) and Tavares (out till March at earliest and completely useless).
  25. All the time you have a fox in the henhouse, you are going to have a problem. I'm obviously referring to Rudy, who since arriving here has been allowed far too much power and is acting like some sort of dictator. I don't rate Ismael one bit. His manner and lack of passion on the touchline is enough for me. I do ask myself though, if, and how much is Rudy involved with team selection and tactics etc? Too many things don't add up to me. In the absence of Travis, Tronstad was always captain. It was the logical choice. I know his contract is up this year, but I still fully expected him to take the armband when Travis left, but no, it goes to Cantwell, then McLoughlin, then Miller?? Rumours Harry Leonard was shown the door. You could argue the club decided he was too injury prone and we should cash in whilst we can, yet those injuries don't seem to have hounded him this season? Tyjon has been completely overlooked. Involved with England youth, has Arsenal circling but despite all the hype of him being the youngster to break through this season, he's not been involved. I understand Gueye had been poor this season, but with the injury to Gudjohnsen, just maybe he was a better option than Henriksson? Why did Ismael persist with Axel out of position? Why does he persist with De Neve & TGH? Not saying Waggott was in anyway our saviour. Crikey, we had some questionable moments when he was here, but I feel its gotten a whole lot worse since he left. Ismael looks broken and about to crack. I sense he knows he can't turn this around. He is out of his depth, but he has limited control of the outcome. I think he'll leave by mutual consent within the next month, if not sooner.
