  1. Past hour
  2. I have a lot of interaction with India and their confidence and optimism about the country is enormous. In dollar terms Indian GDP is about 10% bigger than the UK now and accelerating away. On purchasing power parity India is 4 times bigger than the UK which in practical terms means over 300 million middle class Indians have a quality of life better than middle class Blackburnians.
  3. I did too, when I saw us walking out at home in a white kit.
  4. Have we all forgotten the subtle symbolism when they turned up like two-bob superstars in their 'Raj' plated Rolls Royce's? Feck you all..YOUR now owned.
  5. I heard other Champ sides are interested, if thats the case we've got no chance of competing. If I was the player, looking at the circus that is us and our league position, Id also wait to see what other offers come in before agreeing to anything.
  6. Does he know how to run a training session? The players are dropping like flies with hamstring injuries, our specialist set piece training has led to some of the worst uses of set pieces I've seen in my life and I couldn't even begin to tell you what the current gameplan is supposed to be. Val is absolutely in the same breath as Coyle for me.
  7. Via Twitter, I think they already are.
  8. I donnot want to be too harsh. We had a few good/decent performances prior to yesterday. Just looked to me like the lack of squad depth is showing now.and rhe injuries keep coming. Inthought Wrexham were a bit naughty and embellished things twice I saw em.trip.over.their own feet after passing one of our players to draw the foul. One was a tellow. Anyway Henrickson useless and I am not impressed at all with Baradji he is simply too lazy for me. We. looked really spent and with only three recovery days I do not see Charlton being much better.
  9. One area that appears not on the Agenda is using the loan market to bring players in. There is a logic in saying we need to provide a path for our Academy players and not spend tight cash on expensive youth players from the Premier. However I expect there to be incoming loans for players heading towards the end of contract who need to be offloaded by their clubs. That gives a big question of whether that will be a source of any quality players. Ben Gibson from Stoke is being touted, it's suggested he is on an eye-watering £35k per week at the Potters, can't believe the number but he's clearly on a big deal and isn't being played. He also had a torrid time at Burnley so if he was brought in (lots of experience) it would be our luck to have the Dingles laugh at us for bringing in problems to the squad. What is clear is that we need experience, fitness and quality, not untried, crocked or poor. It's not about numbers. Gestede needs to demonstrate that he has been doing his homework and that he has learned from what has gone before. I am pretty pessimistic and looking at potential away days in League 1. 😦
  10. In the words of "Rovers are in advanced talks to sign Montpellier defender Modipo Sagnan" I think I believe the Barnsley manager on this one.
  11. Of course that is the end product of underinvestment by our ever absent so-called Owners...you reap what you sow.Its a piss poor squad running on empty. I still feel many, the Lollypops and Lemonade Brigade as I like to call them, still haven't come to terms with that salient point.
  12. Plenty of people there yesterday on an annual family get togethers, I'd wager. Not to be seen again for another 12 months. I was sat in front of a Chelsea fan(!) meeting up with family who themselves openly talked about getting to Ewood 'a couple of times a season', and a group of Americans who thought we were Bolton Wanderers (seriously).
  13. With it being a bank holiday it’s probably not a realistic example of the current attendances. I don’t think they are embarrassed especially either as the chronic decrease in attendance has been a gradual decline over many years. So much so that a boycott won’t look that different to a normal fixture anymore!
  14. why would it embarrass them? Yesterday the Hospitality was sold out and the more walk on fans came to the game. Shame it was such a poor performance
  15. Exactly this. Sky did us a small favour yesterday mentioning the Coalition...keep the pressure up,dont back down
  16. I could comfortably outbid the regime at Ewood. A cockroach crawling out of your arse could... VO SPO RGO ad nauseam..
  17. have to agree, he works hard but yesterday he looked knackered. So did most of the team, hence why I was surprise we didn't see some changes in the starting line up
  18. Oh dear Have they outbid us again?
  19. Going to Oxford on loan from reports online
  20. Just imagine if we could combine De Neves pace, with Henriksson's work rate, and Tavares'... erm, ability to kick the ball better than the other 2, and we would have, 1 player who is almost some use late on off the bench
  21. I think the Swedish league is well down the list of coefficients in terms of quality. Not doubting his effort but in terms of attributes, havent seen anything at all.
  22. Nixon in "chattin' bullshit club propaganda" shocker Either that, or we did bid, but it was so derisory, they assumed we were not being serious so didn't inform the manager
  23. I like his attitude, and unlike the dossers of De Neve and Tavares he puts in a shift - 2nd half yesterday he ran everywhere with zero service..You have Ohashi who is meant to be a striker and thought he looked worse. As i said, he was highly rated at his old club in an okay league so there's definitely something to work with...Maybe if we start him in his position on a run of games we can access him more accurately. He's a grafter and does have the ability to pick a good pass. "Worst player in a rovers shirt" and "Worst signing we've made" is far fetched IMO.
  24. Leninan would be our best central defender at the moment. Mulgrew was as good a defender as any of our current defenders back then, that's even ignoring the value of his set piece delivery. Williams and Nyambe were both suited to a back 4, but still that was a strong defence. Conway was far superior to any wide player we have. Bennett and Corry Evans were better than TGH, Tavares, Forshaw etc.. They would be nailed on starters on Sunday. Marshall tailed off at Rovers but he was still a better footballer than most we can put on the pitch in the attacking third today. We have one striker injured at the moment and are playing players out of position up top. Emnes and that younger Sam Gallagher were superior to anything we can field up top at the moment. You then look at squad depth of people who didnt feature much. Elliot Ward, Guthrie, Mahoney, Lucas Joao would all potentially be starters on Sunday with the team as it is at the moment with injuries. There's not much in this for me. I'm not sure how this squad is significantly better.
  25. Today
  26. Some on here said Taveres was an upgrade.
