  1. Past hour
  2. Usual caveat from VI at the weekend that โ€œanything can happenโ€, but he sounded reasonably confident on Hyam stayingโ€ฆ.
  3. Selling the leader of the rubber dinghy boys for almost ยฃ3m would be fine if we were a proper run club. Doing it with 1 hour left in the window, no ESC slots and nobody lined up just sums up the clown in charge and how out of touch with football they really are
  4. JDT saw the writing on the wall too. Nobody with any serious ambition would stick around for this. The end result is obvious and you'd only be managing here if nothing better was available for you.
  5. 1900 championship games experience have left the building. 212 championship games have come through the door And there will still be folk wondering why we are routed in the bottom 3 come December.
  6. I've been saying for some time that is the plan.
  7. Eustace will be grinning ear to ear watching this, he knew exactly what was coming and he's managed to pick up a lot of the players he wanted to keep for nothing AND spend a fortune to add to it. Utterly lunacy.
  8. Can't wait to see the Travis, Dolan and Brittain "Congratulations Brother" messages to Hyam once he seals the move. Seriously fed up of all this now, definitely strong contenders for the drop.
  9. I've never thought much of Hyam. He's too soft and not aggressive enough as a defender, and while he's had some good performances, I've seen him easily bullied far more times than not. He also made for a terrible captain, and it's got to be a bit humiliating having it gifted to you and then taken away so easily. Getting ยฃ2.7m for a player we paid ยฃ1.5m isn't bad business, but the timing of it is really poor. Unless we've got something miraculous lined up in the next hour. I can't see it, though. I don't think Miller has made a good right-back so far. The Birmingham game is a key example, and he seems technically clumsy. However, I think he'd be better suited at the back given his physique. Maybe he'll get better and make that position his own with a bit of time.
  10. I don't know why foreign has to be rubbish, but we wouldn't have to go far to get a defender of Hyam's quality and we'd be furious if we were signing him for 2.7m with 12 months left on his deal. The timing is the bad part.
  11. A mythical transfer budget of ยฃ5m!!! Think we will find we are better than budget by about ยฃ10m!!! ie budgeted net spend ยฃ5m, actual net spend -ยฃ5m. Looking forward to the refreshing and honest views of Ismael!!!
  12. Whatโ€™s the out of contract market like for CBs? Kortney Hause without a club still.
  13. Doesn't the DoE still have seized labels on a number of Venky properties ?
  14. Iโ€™m not hyams biggest fan but he was fairly dependable so to sell all our British core for absolute gambles stinks to high heaven. This has changed from this morning when it was agreed he would be here till January and then perhaps sold, only because money is on offer now have they agreed to this but itโ€™s such bad business to not have a backup plan. I feared for us before but now Iโ€™m certain, we are going down
  15. Not from within the current playing staff, or from foreign rubbish overseas, he isn't.
  16. Even based on my low expectations of this club, this window and this deadline day has fallen well beyond it. We are responding to losing our best CB and being left with only 3, 2 with big injury issues, by loaning (which throughout the summer we have been against) with a crap utility player who sat on the bench for a League 1 club last season. I have underplayed our likelihood of relegation in the past as there is some right shit in this league near the bottom but I cant forsee any other alternative reality. Weve stripped the squad of the majority of its quality and experience and have a dud as manager. And for people who have said its been a good window, or that things are aligned, have a word with yourself. Ismael didnt want a summer of "transition" and such a turnover of players, so many players have left that he wanted to stay and weve not managed one single contract extension. We will have signed 10 instead of the 6 or 7 he asked for and will still be massively lacking in various areas. We have dipped into the loan market purely out of panic today. He wont say anything because hes failed at his last 3 clubs and is sat on a cosy contract, and fair enough, most would sit and take it. Venkys and Suhail, fuck off. And anyone who thinks that Gestede and Owen have a good plan and are competent, again, the proof has been in the pudding.
  17. This feels like deliberate relegation. Real exciting summer, Rudy.
  18. Does this enable anyone to revisit their" fit and proper" status? (Thought not..)
