To be honest from what i remember about it there was less of a fuss around that one than this but the focus back then was all about the football side of things. Also no social media and probably no cheap ticket deal otherwise back then there'd have been thousands more on.

I’ve just watched American Godfathers - The five families, on Sky History. I think it’s based on Selwyn Raabs book - The Five Families - Which for me is the best book on American organised crime I’ve read. Very well done, lots of detail and historical News footage, certainly one for the Mafia buffs amongst us.

These games dont matter but planning ahead, there is a strong argument that Foden should be playing over Bellingham. O'Reilly really should have a chance to become our left back, its not a strong position and hes doing really well at City. Gordon likely will pull out due to injury but hes lucky to get in. Hes been absolutely dire all season for Newcastle and is on a run of something like 20 games without scoring or setting up a goal.

I feel really sorry for the former Rovers players that will have travelled for what is going to be an absolute non-event. There’s some great servants to the club in there, and I’m afraid they’ll be playing in front of about 1,000 people, perhaps max! I just don’t think the day will feel like a celebration at all, which is such a huge shame. But, the club have brought it on themselves. Rovers fans can’t just turn off 15-years off disdain for the ownership. I just cannot see people hanging around for an hour to watch a 40-min game against Old Etonians. It’s not gonna happen.
