If/When we get relegated..

Disagree. We'd be the thick end of £10m down on TV and gate revenue alone. -

Id imagine the plan is or was to retain Championship status whilst getting a side out on the pitch as cheaply as possible. They're going to come a right cropper financially if we go down. -

We're operating on a L1 budget anyway, so we shouldn't notice the difference... -

Near-confirmed 'outs': Tronstad; TGH; Baradji; Cashin; Tyjon Probable 'outs': Cantwell; Pickering; Ribeiro; Toth; Alebiosu; Carter Being fair, you can look at three loans, as has happened this year and being a step below Championship, probably get some good value from that. Could see Hedges & Forshaw renewing. I think the rest don't really have a move to make, other than down (Andri aside, perhaps). On paper, we'd be fancied to bounce back, so you'd stick around and see if it can happen. Even still - 6 current starters to replace in a summer with Gestede's track record is a deathwish. Because of the Pune-to-Ewood psychodrama that we're locked in, we have to speculate on what relegation would mean for its architects within the club, given our owners are absent. I suspect there will be some questions asked of Pasha, if we do go down. I don't think it's a good sign that Sreenivasa Rao has often been pictured at Ewood recently, as it gives Gestede and Pasha the opportunity to obfuscate and build rapport, potentially saving their skins. I am hopeful that Pasha's recent prolonged absence was to get to the bottom of the performance issues and/or issue an ultimatum to him, but I reckon the chance is slim. I've got a weird feeling that Venkys would actually spend "big" (relative to League One and our recent expenditure) next season, owing mainly to vanity. Unfortunately, I don't see Rudy or Pasha getting sacked, so that budget is destined to be squandered. Either way - I'm pretty resolved to maybe a couple of away games and catching us on Sky, where possible. Simply not good for my wellbeing (and other facets of my life) to be so affected by something that is controlled by dilettantes and sycophants, uninterested in its success. -

All money driven. This lot are much cheaper, and thats all anyone is bothered about at this club. As said many times, its all about getting a side out on the pitch as cheaply as possible. If football results drop because of that, who cares? They aren't the priority. -
Swansea showing what a team with the ability to attack can do to Wednesday. It's mindblowing how much off the pace we are in a poor league.

Goes without saying that it would be an absolute disaster and I 100% do not trust the current management structure to navigate it competently. That said, I will try to be balanced here. Even once the inevitable asset stripping has occurred I think we likely have a league one team. Not a promotion team necessarily, but a team nonetheless. This isn't a defence of the current players, it just reflects how much league one standard dross we have managed to accumulate, in combination with the fact that a lot of the academy products actually look pretty OK. I'm not saying I personally want to keep all these players but plausibly after all the sellable ones have gone we could be left with something like - Pears Miller Pratt McLoughlin Pickering Garrett Henriksson Montgomery Afolayan Ohashi* Kargbo With a bench of: one of the youth keepers, Wharton, O'Riordan, Duru, De Neve, Atcheson, Powell, Dlamini, Doherty *I don't know about Ohashi, but I think there's a reasonable chance that one of Ohashi, Jorgenson, Gudjohnsen stays. There will likely be at least one or two 'sellable' players we fail to shift. I've based that on youngsters who have made championship or cup minutes this season and not looked entirely out of their depth. League one is very physical, but players with pace tend to do well, so I do think that Kargbo might be a bit of a weapon at that level. I'm not sure it gets promoted without reinforcement, particularly us finding a talisman/goalscorer like we did with Dack, and the midfield is terrifyingly thin, but I think it would be reasonably competitive (again, this is damning the squad with the faintest of praise). The real issue will be that if we didn't get promoted at the first time of asking we'd just be cost cut to a stable league one team, then to a 'lets just stay in the division' league one team, then to a 'we'll definitely be competitive in league 2' team... -
Pasha allowed Lambert a break clause in his contract back in the day. Im not sure whether the potential problem is Rovers only want a deal until the end of the season. You'd have thought a break clause to allow everyone to take stock would be beneficial to both sides if we went down. If despite that everyone was happy with each other there's nothing stopping them extending or re-negotiating the deal.

The thought of playing in league 1 with the likes of AK, De Neve and Tavares worries me. -
Whether we believe what Nixon says or not, on his Patreon he thinks we’ll be speaking to three alternatives if Rowett says no.. have an awful feeling one will be Coleman, no idea who else is possibly on there list.. Really hoping they can get Rowett, I think it’s the most sensible choice considering we’re in massive trouble, really hope we know more by tomorrow/Tuesday too.. Sadly preparing myself for a Nixon exclusive tonight though.. “Rowett says no to Rovers”, at least then I can be pleasantly surprised if they do manage to pull it off and are able to persuade him. Big Big week.

Must have been penned by AI, as it is the biggest load of guff spouted by the Pune Loon crowd since Madame Rao crowed gushingly about spending a whole five million pounds a season to keep Rovers in the Premier League. It is no coincidence that the clear out of Championship standard players at the end of last season and their replacement with largely inferior and inexperienced ones has placed the status of the club in the Championship in peril. On reflection it looks likely to have been a deliberate act of sabotage designed to hasten the drop through the trapdoor into relative obscurity. Perhaps the Venky's plan is to close the operation down when it has become so relatively trivial as to not cause them any significant embarrassment. That would seem to be a plausible explanation for the trajectory that has clearly been set by the so called management at the club. What utter charlatans and shysters the Rao family are. What an absolute BLIGHT on the town of Blackburn and the legacy of all decent and passionate supporters of the club. And what an absolute dog-shit insult that sodding statement is, reeking of nothing but complete disconnection with the reality of misery and misfortune that our club has been dragged down to by these pathetic and cretinous people. VENKYS / RAOS / HANGERS ON OUT! BRFC we grieve for your supporters' pain. -
In fairness IF Rowett did decide to join this circus, I think he's smart enough to know exactly what he's signing up for. Much like Eustace, I imagine he'd demand a release clause set at a reasonable limit. After JDT flat out told everyone that Venky's refused to let him leave when he requested to resign, any manager/head coach with a hint of preservation instinct would make this a non-negotiable demand in contract talks. Could also be why this all ends with Rowett refusing to join us. Waggott was the one who allowed Eustace the release clause, presumably, and I'm not convinced Pasha and Gestede would be willing to allow their 'authority' to be undermined by a demand of a reasonable minimum fee release clause. Especially after the petulance that was shown after Eustace left.
-
If Rowett has anything about him, he'll see right through Suhail and Gestede. He probably also knows he has a shot at the Leicester job as well, which despite their troubles is arguably a more appealing gig these days, and closer to where he is based. I'll be really surprised if Rovers appoint someone this week.
-
Who presumably want exactly the same things as him. A decent transfer/wage budget and for the team to be successful.
-
Yeah the reason Rowett could be reticent are those negative fans.
-
Having witnessed how effective we are at bringing in our transfer 'targets', I fully expect us to fail in bringing in Rowett. It will be hard to convince him to sign a deal that is considerably worse than the one he had at Oxford... and then we turn our focus to fringe managers from substandard European leagues.

I still can’t believe anyone could justify selling all our proven Championship players and replacing them so badly. What on earth were they thinking? We should be demanding answers on a daily basis, because it just doesn’t make any sense. -

our better players won`t play in league one because i don`t think venkys will sanction spending the money like they did last time, enabling us to keep them, last time we got relegated we must have had the biggest wage budget in the division by far, dack, graham, mulgrew, smallwood etc were far to good for that division and it showed, quite certain we won`t have that option this time,i expect a fire sale and quite a long stay in league one, indeed it would`nt be a surprise to me if we ended up where we`ve never been before, the bottom division, death by a thousand cuts, courtesy of pasha, gested and the chicken disrespectors -
That may well come to pass but in the meantime we HAVE to as a bare minimum stay up imo.
-
they`ll lie to him, promise him that he`ll get what he wants then appoint him,in the coming months poor rowett will realise he`s been duped and by next febuary he`ll be gone, rinse and repeat onto the next candidate
