  1. Past hour
  2. Rovers’ directors ‘as seen by’ the EFL: https://www.efl.com/governance/owners-and-directors-test-public-register-of-directors/
  3. Each to our own… I’ll enjoy a couple of pints up the Black Bull pre though.
  4. I dunno I do still get the buzz but I let the disappointment wait until im sat in a plastic blue seat. COYB🔵⚪️🌹
  5. If we were paying average wages at this level, we would be in the middle of the list below Even if you omit the parachute payment teams, we were comfortably in the "below average" bracket then, and have had huge cuts since this point, whilst the lowest payers (Plymouth & Rotherham) have been replaced by ambitious high payers such as Wrexham. Even Oxford & Portsmouth are now outbidding us on fees and wages, as shown when they brought in De Keersmaecker & Kosznovszky. Charlton signed Kaminski, which likely puts their top wage bracket above what Rovers are currently willing to pay also https://www.matchdayfinance.com/post/championship-financial-results-season-2023-24
  6. Our overall salary costs in 23/24 were 31.69% below the Championship average. If we use the median instead of the mean (to strip out the parachute clubs etc) our costs were 15.61% below the average. Clearly some of the difference could be number of employees/other employees but a large part of this will be attributable to the players’ wages.
  7. If they just ran out those 4, they might beat us.
  8. Far to much hassle for them all that
  9. Talking about Travis and the game goes hand in hand. He was captain and started for us in our first league match so as fans we should be made aware if he’s available for selection
  10. Of the many thrills of being a football fan. Waking up for the first home league game of the season is one of them… if you don’t get that thrill, why you still bothering? (And that’s the question I’m asking myself for the first time in my life this morning).
  11. Clubs that pay the going rate for Championship players don’t go three years without having a single one of them sign a new contract.
  12. With so many variables that could affect a result I never really do predictions but I'm quite fearful for today's game. On the evidence of our first two games and based on what Gestede and Ismael said I was expecting a high tempo pressing game but I haven't seen much evidence of that. In truth at times we have looked far too ponderous in possession and the lack of forward movement alarming. In fact the slow starts in both games have been almost the opposite of what they promised. After going behind in those games we did increase our intensity but we created very little, something of a recurring theme under Ismael. He is going to have to earn his wages today for sure and come up with a game plan to hinder Birmingham's intensity. Compare that to the start Birmingham have made in both of their games. High intensity, high energy and pressing all over the pitch. They will surely fly out of the traps and try to exploit our propensity to start slowly. With that in mind we have to score first if we are going to win and at least give us something to defend.
  13. Was the plan weeks ago. Anyone thinking we brought in depth is dreaming
  14. Whilst I kind of agree with you, the pre match presser should indeed to be to talk about the game. BUT VI is a big boy, he is more than capable of saying "come on chaps lets focus on the game here with the questions". There's no need for a gagging order unless they're scared of the answers, it's as simple as that.
  15. So don’t come out, smile and say it’s going to be an exciting summer. Gestede knows the game, and they’ve removed GB and employed Gestede to make sure they have a patsy to implement it. He’s not going to rock the boat and try and negotiate more funds for the players like I suspect previous people may have done, so in my mind he’s complicit. The jury is out on VI on this point.
  16. Today
  17. Great input overall, but I'm not sure that last point is entirely correct. Tavares appears to be quite a shrewd signing from what most have said; likewise Miller, who not only looks to have all boxes ticked as a footballer for his position but also seems a great character for team morale. Henrikksen too seems to be competitive, have a good eye & seems an amiable chap. Ohashi & Gueye likewise. In fact I think most of the incomings seem of the right character in context; are they Championship quality skills wise though? Time will tell, but Gestede is only being given peanuts to spend by the owners & Pasha so there is more risk than there should be given the money received in player sales recently.
  18. Another happy day in this storied ownership. I’m moving past the phase of anger to just utter apathy - the lack of professionalism at the club is embarrassing. I’d be appalled to be associated with it. They treat us like fools and underlings. If only they knew the passion, knowledge and talent in this fan base. Ignorance and arrogance born out of silver spoons and misplaced authority. It really is, above all else, sad. “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
  19. We’ve played one league game, & we’re at least five bodies short in the first team, (if we count Pears, Hyam, & Travis). I am not despondent, but I am not really hopeful or optimistic, either. 1-1 sounds like a dream to me.
  20. And cheaper. Preferably from Belgium as they have more potential.
  21. Tbf there is a difference between 'limiting' questions about individual players, and banning them. The club also said the reason they wanted to do this was to focus on the match, which player availability for definitely related to. And it's not clear from this quote whether he was answering a question or voluntarily providing information. None of this is to say I don't think the decision to refuse to answer questions about Travis and contracts is acceptable, I certainly don't. Just saying they haven't technically gone against their own statement.
  22. Not necessarily. If the thing about him not being eligible because he came off the bench for Bochum is true (I'm sceptical) Miyoshi would still be one we can launch an appeal for. As I've mentioned before, I suspect we would have strong grounds on the following bases: would have qualified comfortably with 19 points a week or so ago and is the same player now, Japanese international in his prime, has experience as a regular in the Bundesliga and Championship, and if he hadn't left Birmingham upon their relegation just over a year ago they would have been able to easily get him a full exemption from needing an ESC slot. Given that even with the reduced points he still has, if I remember rightly, 13 of the required 15 to automatically qualify, I'd be surprised if an appeal wasn't successful.
  23. They want all the respect in the world then idiots let them down like that
  24. That statement they put out completely contradicted itself. Only someone who is totally brain dead would take anything this club says seriously. I know double speak is the standard for large organisations but they're not even good at doing that. I think we've got a chance to cause them some real problems at the minute as they are so totally inept there's no way they'll be able to deal with it. We need to take this chance and give them a good slap.
  25. Yesterday
  26. Above what we are offering hence why our players are happy to move to clubs who finished below us in the table.
  27. Fair play @K-Hod it’s a stance I took myself over a decade ago after trying and failing to make change, once you’ve been lied to directly to your face (by Suhail and Balaji himself) you lose a lot of hope. Huge respect to those in the various fan groups that toil away in the background despite all this. It was too much for me and it pains me to say I was beaten by it and my love for the club faded ever since. I’m a passenger now. I’d never tell anyone what to do or how to support or protest but I think the entire fans forum resigning would be a huge signal of unity in the fanbase against the regime but I know that wouldn’t happen and respect those that think the forum is the right vehicle for their hope of change.
