Recruitment has been dire since the summer of 2024. Useless players that have contributed little or nothing - Gueye, Kargbo, Woodrpw, Dennis, Tavares, De Neve, Henriksson Very mediocre (at best) players - Mcloughlin, T G-H, Cashin (too early to judge), Forshaw (frequently injured), Ribeiro (duplicates Pickering) OK but flawed - Miller(tries lacks quality), Morishita (skilful but v lightweiht), Baradji (lazy attitude) That just leaves Gudjohnsen (scores but does little else) and Alebiosu (effective still rough at the edges). And that motley crew replaced Szmodics,Travis, Brittain, Hyam,Batth, Weimann, Baker, Dolan,JRC, Leonard.

What would it do? A journalist who is banned criticising the club wont make one jot of difference.

Think under Ismael we have just about averaged a point per league game. That will not keep us up this season - looking at the table, I think at least 50 points will be required.

Am I right in saying that Appleton was the last manager actually officially sacked? Would it be a possibility that given he was sacked about two months into a 2.5 year contract that the club wanted to avoid such a costly repeat in the future and inserted some sort of performance related get out clause into future manager contracts? Well pay you XYZ% and we’ll call it mutual consent? Not sure how manager contracts really work, but imagine they are very different at Blackburn Rovers!!

It's about now that Ismael learns truly what sort of club he is working for as he comes to realise that our results and league position are absolutely irrelevant to the ownership and 'board'. Unfortunately it seems a lot of supporters are still under the impression that things like results, position etc. have any relevance to the decision makers at the club. Up to this point, despite his return being woeful, we have kept our heads above water, making it easy for the regime to do nothing and leave it. Now we are sinking fast he will probably expect, and even want, the sack and a pay-off. But he's going to realise that unlike all his previous clubs, who fired him off after 30-40 games maximum, this regime have no intention of doing such things and they will leave him to keep on going inflicting even more damage. It's either because the 'board' don't have the authority to sack managers, requiring permission from head office in India which they can't get, or because the 'board' are unwilling to incur the cost and pressure of making a change due to the impact it will have on their figures and budgets, and they'd rather gamble away our league status instead. I'm convinced Ismael wants sacking now, he probably can't believe what the 'board' has left him to work with, another woeful lack of support 2/3 of the way through a transfer window and yet still no response to appalling results and points returns.

After our transfer dealings in the summer, I predicted we would be in a relegation fight, but, unlike the last time around, the problem is that not many will look at this squad and think, "yes, I can save them!" I can think of a couple who are crazy enough and good managers, but unfortunately, most of those who believe they can save us will just be crazy.

In the last 2 games we've looked every inch of a relegated team. Calamitous at the back, nothing but Sonny in midfield and no attacking build up play whatsoever. Manager just sat with his head in hands, being as totally fucking useless, as the clowns above him. Venkys, Pasha, Ismael, Gestede, Owen all deserve this relegation but we don't. Absolutely sick to death of these owners, just fuck off.

Not sure when Field left , wasn't Dinnis caretaker for a while ? Don Martin was still there , Metcalfe and Parkes too.. 5 vastly superior players to what we have today ..
