The January 2026 Transfer Window

He scored in his last game, against Wrexham. -
He did, but he signed for Rovers as an apprentice before turning professional 2 years later, so I think he can be included in this.

If you’re going that far back - Fred Pickering instead of Beatie. -
Pains me to say it, but David May over Taylor

I think he was dropped to the bench for their last game. -
Garner came from Boston Utd. Would add Mike England and Keith Newton to that lineup.

I’ve just gone back through my photo albums but sadly it appears not, sorry… -
Raya Nyambe Taylor Jones Olsson Wilcox Dunn Wharton Duff Garner Beattie Although Garner and Olsson both played elsewhere before joining us, they both signed for our youth team/academy before turning professional.

You would only do that if results mattered. Here, they don't. -

Very rarely do well in it because we've had too many managers that don't take it seriously -

And Eustace is rumoured to want him so we've no chance anyway. Perhaps Blackburn Rovers should by now have sourced, signed and paid for a replacement. -

The one or two extra games isnt the problem though is it? I'd think it is reasonable to assume Cantwell and Baradji are not fully fit, Ohashi must be due a rest and is literally the only fit striker with first team experience at the club. I'd say Miller has played more football than anybody in the league with his international games added so is at high risk of injury. We are having to protect the squad rather than writing off a game. The balancing act of not losing more players has to have some thought, well unless we get Val's list signed off and sign a few first team ready players for Saturday. -
Yep, head coaches are required these days, who are happy to tow the line of "the project"
-
If we could put a Rovers youth team graduate 11 Raya, LB?, Taylor, Jones, rb?, Wharton, Dunn, cm?, duff, garner,, maybe put wilcox on the right or Johnson

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
roverblue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
His tactics mean we don't score enough goals. This is the main reason we don't win more games and have more points. A team of defenders and defensive minded midfield players leave our 1-2 attacking players isolated and without any real service. After going 2 nil down at home to Charlton and Wrexham he doesn't have the nous to change tactics and throw on another striker/winger/attacker (*admittedly these would be academy lads given the squad issues we have but beats playing people out of position like Henrikson). His view is that he needs better players rather than he needs to be a better manager. -
So Liam Rosenoir is the new Chelsea manager. Really not sure how this will go but I've just seen that Strasbourg are owned by the same company that own Chelsea, so feels like a bit of a lazy appointment on the face of it. He's done well in management so far but these type of appointments rarely seem to work out at big clubs over the medium/long term. Maybe the days of getting "big name" managers in are over?

England have dropped 17 catches so far in this series. Some of them were defining moments in one or two Tests. Dropped catches happen but that big number is symptomatic of a failing team. McCullum staying on after this dreadful series would be endorsing that failure. Get rid.

Plus being dropped from the match squad doesn't exactly scream 'playing raring to go...' to potential buyers. -
I remember wanting O'Neill as our manager back in the day... Scottish football need Celtic and Rangers to miss out on the title this season - big ask on Hearts if Rangers and / or Celtic hit form.

Do I recall Aberdeen offering to take him on loan? But only if Rovers carried on paying his wage, and with no loan fee involved? That being said, they have just sacked their manager. maybe he brought that up as an idea again, and that was the final straw? 😉 -
Thanks, that says they’d need to have been convicted of a relevant offence, I don’t think that’s happened. Without double checking, I think the EFL has the same/a similar rule.
