Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
bigbrandjohn replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I wonder who decides enough is enough? Rudy will drag his heels because he is one of his own. Plus it makes his position flaky. Problem is that if we bin Ishmael then we will only pick up an out of work manager who will want assurances and a hefty bonus to keep us up. And there is a reason they are out of work All money we apparently don’t have. That’s before the long term contract pay off money for “Ish” and his team. -

If we are so obliged to play Henriksson and De Neve etc, it's frustrating that we continue to not play to their '1 trick'. I'm not saying build a team around them, but De Neve's 1 outlet is to out pace a man and put a cross in yet. Henriksson is pressing players etc. Seeing as we intended to start the season with a 4 at the back, you'd think sitting deeper and hoping we play in the break with pace (including new lad) and battle for the ball (Ohashi and Henriksson) would suit more. The more adept footballers like Tronstad, Cantwell and Baradji could work to that where as currently we're asking limited footballers to adapt to them and it's killing us -

Desperate form and horrific injury crisis, relegation looming, and Rudy's "exciting plan" is two signings, one of whom is a loan we have to play even if he is crap. Jorgenson seems a decent prospect (by our standards at least), he made more runs in the channel in his 30 minutes against Ipswich than the rest of the team combined over the season (only a slight exaggeration sadly) and has some pace which is good. Might be more a wide-forward than a central striker but could mesh well with Ohashi (similar) and Gudjohnson central. Cashin had a horrible debut, no question, and while he may be talented and just need nurturing, the signing is unbelievably stupid. We are forced to play him ahead of Pratt who is younger, faster, taller, and on the basis of season so far a better CB, and most important actually our player. The signing is actively detrimental, thanks Rudy. I said at the start of the window we didn't need a CB, for all our lack of goals our defence has been ok, and Carter is about to be back giving us McLoughlan, Miller, Carter, Pratt, Atcheson, Litherland which is not ideal but manageable. A replacement for Hyam, who we should never have sold, was only CB I would have been interested in, and Cashin is the exact opposite of that; short and slow, not tall and injury proof. Offloading Gueye was good, but why do we still have Ribeiro and Pickering who Ismael refuses to play? Why not offload them and bring in an actual Wing-Back while Hedges is crippled, and before he leaves on a free when he gets better (shades of Weimann?), because De Neve is the worst positional player I have ever seen in both attack and defense. I said in the match thread god only knows why Kortrijk kept him and loaned out Alebiosu. CM remains an issue as well, Tronstad has checked out and we refuse to resign him, again god knows why (oh wait yeah our ridiculous self-imposed wage cap; thanks our Billionaire owners), TGH and Forshaw are not good enough and neither should have been signed. Baradji has talent but missed half the season and looks better further forward than CM proper. Henriksson has been another awful Gestede signing, a shame that one as he seemed a decent prospect when we signed him in summer. Then again, I keep forgetting we support a club run for Suhail's bonus not success on the field... -

They should have been given a penalty, but if the ref did his job at the other end, that one wouldn't have happened. -

I actually meant being successful with that way of running the club would need a huge chunk of luck. -

Fair enough. Montgomery performed well last time out tbf. We havent been doing well with Cantwell in the side as it is though. I dont rate Miller at all personally, I know some seem to like him. -

I agree, a good manager coming in would be a fluke. Id rather that though than hope and wait for Valerian to develop some acumen. I’d rather Damien Johnson had the job as desperate as that sounds. Im sure Lenny Venkhater has already done it, but here’s my bastardised version of JCC; The fucking footballs fucking dull The fucking stands are never full There’s only girls and fucking guys With fucking murder in their eyes A fucking bloke is fucking subbed I’m waiting in the fucking club You fucking stay at fucking home The fucking neighbours fucking roar Keep the fucking rovers down This is fucking Venkytown -

Not shooting the messenger if we'd had VAR in the Championship on Saturday we'd have probably have pulled it back to 2-1 from the penalty spot and might have been playing for a period against ten after the elbow on Cantwell. Hardly a given we'd have got anything out of the game seeing as we didnt even register a shot on target in the 90 mins otherwise. He's really floundering isnt he? No idea at all how to turn it round. Just blame bad luck/officials etc. -

Clarification: Overall, it’s a poor roster. But I would say Cantwell, Miller, Montgomery- just to have some options at certain positions. -

He is useless and was a seriously bad choice in the first place The owners don't care one jot and it's now 3 seasons since my son and I said enough is enough. I support any withdrawal by fans. This is the only was to get rid of the cancer which permeates this Club -

So in the pre-match interview with the club, Ismael has spent a good 8mins, of a 16mins interview, complaining about refereeing decisions and getting VAR in the championship. Although his overall point isn't far of the mark, he really will not take any responsibility for the mess we are in. It's always someone else's fault. -

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1C4KwGX3n2/ He's utterly deluded. I get he has to say certain things but to act like there are no real issues, "we know we can score goals" and "we need to get back on the winning streak" is just insulting to anyone who has watched us at all this season. -

This guy is a complete useless manager unless a change we are down Its heartbreaking they just dont seem to care well I wont care on Saturday for one game everyone needs to do the same and not go ! -
Carter starts, the wonderfully named Xavier Nosegbe is a new name on the bench, looks like he is a 15/16 year old defender. Archie Walls & Ethan Low, as well as Theo Pitt (who starts) are also from our U16s score/update

and if we sack him? Well ask fans at any football club what they wanted a new manager to achieve and they’ll say they want someone who can bring better players to the club and who will improve results. Nothing much more than that. I think that’s what every club would try to do. Not here though. They had a manager who could do that and indeed did do that in place when they bought us but they sacked him within weeks. That patently isnt what they want from any manager. They just want someone to work with any player given to them. Work with them and improve them for only one reason - financial gain. That won’t change and that just contributes to the disenchantment that runs throughout the club and the fans. Nobody could get behind that apart from the owners blindly backed by Pasha. Running the club that way can never bring success without a huge amount of pure luck. It’s been happening for fifteen years now and the fans are - and have been walking away throughout that time. They are killing the club and they don’t give a toss.
