  1. Past hour
  2. Indeed, obviously running a football club and all its elements half way around the world is far too expensive for them… so they keep hold of it, because…
  3. Indeed, it will make all the lemming coaches and DoFs at the various levels of the game (and academies) look a tad silly when League 2 centre halves and goalkeepers are expected to be centre halves and goalkeepers again.
  4. I really the I think the days of Pepball are coming to an end and yesterday was a perfect example why as the high press was dispensed with. On paper City had the best players and manager but Glasner is a smart cookie and let City have the ball in their own half but as soon as they tried to advance they closed them down. Guardiola didn't have an answer to this as he can only play one way. How many opportunities did City overlook to put the ball in the box. On the few occasions they did they looked dangerous. Haaland must tear his hair out at players like Doku. I think the footballing snobs might point to the statistics which were overwhelmingly in City's favour but the most important one was that Palace scored 100% of the goals.
  5. If nothing else, the goal from Palace was an antidote to aimless passing for the sake of it, with some quick wing play and a smart finish. Moving the ball quickly with purpose, been a while since I’ve seen that at the top level!
  6. The court case being adjourned again meant bringing money in was critical otherwise the consequences could have been dire. Parrish and Freedman are smart operators and knew this so within days of this the deal was done and dusted with the aforementioned holding the trump cards. There aren't many Rovers fans naive enough to believe Adam wouldn't have gone in the future but the way this was expedited leaves a bad taste and is another reason to deplore the owners and their acolytes.
  7. Club shop in town centre costs too much - shut it down Matchday programme costs too much - get rid Home fans in Darwen End / BBE upper tier - close them down Radio Rovers / Rovervision cost too much - shut down Academy and Brockhall sites cost too much - attempt to shut down but can't be done easily / on the cheap and too much red tape to deal with so leave for now Ewood shop / Blues Bar - start to shut down, reduced opening days and times and doing their utmost to discourage people from going with incentives to stay away from the Ewood site I've probably missed a few Women's team - costing too much - what happens next? Why stop there? Mens and reserve/youth teams don't make money either. Any reason for keeping those going? It isn't to benefit the town or fanbase that's for sure or they'd make some effort with it.
  8. Today
  9. Because people are proud of and interested in a generational talent. I hold no animosity towards Palace - I'm jealous that they're a club seemingly won so well but I'd be pleased as punch if I was a fan of theirs and had taken advantage of our shambles to land Wharton. I find it strange anyone would want City to win any game of football. For City also read Newcastle, PSG, etc.
  10. So was the Women's club folded yesterday? My hatred and disdain for the inept management of Rovers is particularly accute over this mess up.
  11. Glad City lost. Painful to see Adam in any shirt other than a Rovers shirt.
  12. A proper Rovers fan wouldn't have left.😎
  13. The Small Faces - I've Got Mine
  14. Yes I can't think of why we would be interested in a Blackburn-born Rovers fan's career who was raised and built by our club since age 6. I wonder what could possibly cause this fixation...
  15. Agreed. Not even sure why this thread still gets much action. He left. Yes, he was pushed towards the door, but he left. He signed the contract (and his agent was doing a very good job of raising his profile in the 6 months prior to the exit). Good luck to him. I even hope to see him back at Rovers at some point in the future, but so long as he isn't here then I have no reason to hope that his clubs do well. I was hoping City smashed them. Find Palace fans insufferable.
  16. Yesterday
  17. I just don't give a fuck about them because they're a complete nothing club. Maybe it's a bit of envy also, Wharton should be celebrating winning the FA Cup with Rovers but thanks to the chicken overlords any opportunities for anything like that have been extinguished. Deliberately.
  18. You need a shred of dignity to be ashamed. Venkys don't have that.
  19. I forgot, it couldn't be the club's fault.
  20. I mean, I wasn't there, it was maybe 3 years before I got into football. But from what I infer from the moaning I see, a lot of people are holding a grudge against them for more than 30 years because a referee handled the game poorly and cost us promotion. Which doesn't sound like good reasoning. I'm sure someone can tell me what I'm missing about it.
  21. If there’s a bonus, it’ll be good for Venky’s, but not our first team.
  22. Any Rovers fan - certainly those of us who were there that day - being 'delighted' for Crystal Bloody Palace winning anything, needs to give their head a wobble.
  23. they’d probably try and ban him knowing the scum, they can’t take criticism or the facts that they’re dreadful owners.
  24. Its already been admitted by Suhail that the owners couldn't send any money over at one point. We had to sell Wharton to pay the bills. Steve Parish was also on Talksport talking about the deal, and at first questioned why a supposedly good player was available for so little. Said he knew we needed the cash. I don't think Palace even had to low ball us, we obviously gave them a figure and they probably came back with a lower offer, sensing our desperation but we held out for what we'd been hawking him around for in the first place. Basically, due to the complete incompetence of our owners and their court case, we've been forced to sell the best player our academy ever produced on the cheap, getting less than a full season of games out of him in the process.
  25. He's a fantastic advocate for Rovers. I wonder if Venkys will ever hear his words? They should be ashamed.
  26. Certainly is always more of a gamble at Rovers due to the lack of significant loan fees paid for the better talents.
  27. The deal hasn't benefited the club whatsoever and it never will. I for one, am glad they sold him on the cheap.
  28. The frustrating thing about Roberts was that he spent a lot of time on his arse, which was strange given that he could just bulldoze any defenders in the world when he wanted to. I still enjoyed having him here.
