2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

They may not have signed an absolute like for like for Latte Lath (they loaned Iheanacho IIRC), but they brought in Whittaker for over £7m and also spent £5m on Conway in summer 2024. In fact, looking at TransferMarkt will show you the following; Money In 24/25: £27.15m Money Spent 24/25: £25.19m Money In 23/24: £25.70m Money Out 23/24: £16.16m Money In: 22/23: £27.37m Money Out: £10.23m Money In 21/22: £1.80m Money Out 21/22: £12.56m That's about 78% reinvestment on incomings over the last 4 seasons. Rovers since 20/21 In: £57.99m Out: £12.40m 21% reinvestment - Net: +45.59m -

A good number of years ago we did a “rovers greatest ever team” discussion and vote. Lots of posters took part, arguing for their favourite player in each position. It would be interesting to read that again but it might not be on here now.

I think the walk ups will be well down this Season, again, putting the prices up and we cut our own throats. -
What a club we had… and could again if they just. fucked. off.

It didn't sound like the newly reconstituted role consisted of much more than overseeing things in the hospitality areas on match day tbh. -

I think he'll start De Neve and McLoughlin. Not saying either improve on what we have but I think he'll start McLoughlin over putting Wharton straight back in and Carter is injured. With a fully fit selection of centre backs, I don't think McLoughlin starts. De Neve has started most of the pre-season games, so assume VI rates him over Kargbo, who has largely come off the bench. I agree though, the recruitment has been poor in the main. No desire to improve on what we have, just get players in for low fees, who they hope they can sell in a season or 2 just by virtue of being championship players. -

"SW stated that the club had currently sold almost 18,000 season tickets, compared to a total of 14,000 for last season, which included half season ticket sales. This represented a 30%increase, with sales still expected to continue for a while. This was an excellent response to price reductions. When our Club was run by responsible people who gave a damn...seems a long time ago now😟 -

People didnt chip in last season, that was the issue. We didnt score enough goals. Hedges got only 1 goal. Cantwell got 1 from open play. Our number 9 only got 6 all season. Kargbo obviously got injured and didnt score. Dennis and Woodrow didnt score. Weimann and Dolan did chip in and now have gone. De Neve has never historically scored anything other than the odd goal in the Belgian league. McLoughlin has come in, obviously not to score goals but never scored a single goal in 6 years for Hull. What Ismael says he "wants" might be reigned in compared to what he actually thinks we need compared to what we are likely to get realistically, or even if he only wants a certain number, that doesnt mean that its actually what we need. Judge beyond just parroting what the manager says in public. Question things. Compare to what they said we wanted before the window started, consider players who left unexpectedly. -
Fair enough, I read that the other way! My cock up. Like I say they should be encouraging folk and do it as a long term plan. To me it’s a great opportunity to try something now there are 8 Saturday matches set in stone to work with, to counteract season ticket holders being annoyed I wouldn’t give any entitlement to away ticket purchase etc. Maybe there’ll be some flexi card thing again. Anyway we all know the score with it all now, most of the negatives stem from tv ultimately as well as the obvious.

At barely 9k ST's they need three thousand walk ups to just hit the hardcore 12k figure before away fans and i can see that being a tricky ask beyond the first game unless the form is good. 12.30 kick offs are the pits.

I was going on what I read in the LT, if those figures are correct, it could be something like last seasons average. Hopefully higher if we have a decent season. -
Atmosphere should be better, more sales of booze and food are what I would point to. Lot of variables - far from as simple as one size fits all to me.

Yes the priority is obviously pay wages, tax, bills but don't bother too much about team investment etc unless there is a bit of surplus from sales. Chicken industry principles - pre covid/Ukraine - where i presume minimum investment enabled maximum output = big profits from sheer volume of sales. They've been trying to create that here for a long time on 3 year cycles imo. Pity they don'y apply the same idea to season tickets. -

They get £20m for Hackney...we got £20m for Wharton who will become one of the best midfielders in the prem. Oh to be a well run club. And barely a penny of the Wharton money re-invested whereas I bet Boro re-invest 50-75% of that fee. - Today

No, but Boro get what their players are worth (and then some), and then reinvest it Rovers under Venky's are the polar opposite of that -

To be fair, a few may have said that about Tosin, James Hill, Van Hecke etc when they came on loan -
I held back getting my Rovers TV season ticket expecting to buy the Nejmegen coverage at the same time... Fans are banned and still no sign of the match deal. Of course I could be naughty and post this https://tickets.nec-nijmegen.nl/dashboard but I am far too well behaved to even consider doing so. "Ik kom niet uit Blackburn" Probably the stiffest test as NEC kick off the same time as we are at West Brom so a solid mid table Eredevise side with no excuse for having extra weeks at the beach when/if we beat them unlike Everton and Elche. I no doubt will be corrected and am almost certainly hexing us but I cannot recall a 100% pre-season win record before. We came preciously close to a 100% loss record not too long ago. And facing three teams from top leagues is also almost unheard of pre-season these days. So somebody can do a back flip to show off his naff back tattoo. NEC have two Japanese centre forwards and their keeper and right winger are rated. Should be a very decent test for VI's boys with the starting XI at the Hawthorns likely to be on display... If Rovers TV ever wake up!

Jeez how is that kid worth £20 mil? Is he a similar level to Wharton🤦🏻♂️ -
I think the official attendance figures will still tell the story as fans will have had to have made an actual decision to buy one this summer on the back of last season’s ridiculous number of moves - if they still have, but don’t come to half 12 KOs, so what? The clubs would say, money in the bank from you and Sky, ta very much.
