As expected, we're not offering competitive salaries to any of those having a year left on their contract. It seems to me that the relentless squeeze on the wage bill is in preparation for the future in L1. The FFP rules in that league require the playing staff wages to be no more than the aggregate of 75%of the playing staff wage bill plus 100 %of so-called fortune income which is basically transfer fees. The fiasco with the upcoming out of contract players, making offers no better than their current deals also seems to confirm that there is a wage cap. Why does the media ask that question?
