Some informative (eg smiller) and interesting posts of late -thanks. Jackson article? Supine spin from club mouthpiece, economical with the truth, masquerading as reasoned and balanced truth. The king is dead (SWAG), long live the king (Gestede). New autocratic state in place but utilising the same old playbook –even cheaper too. One puppet master (Suhail), one enforcer (G), one compliant manager (VI) Non-compliant or off-piste forces removed (the egg and SWAG) Several shady agents/background bodies still pulling strings (allegedly) Toxic, paranoid work place to create fear and obedience –check Remove expensive players –check Remove expensive staff -check Remove any staff not totally compliant and complicit in the ‘new’ cheaper orthodoxy-check Compliant local press and social media plants willing to disseminate the puppet masters narrative -check On players speaking out –could be NDAs (a la Big Sam) or could just be the culture of omerta among players –a sort of extension of what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room. Only guessing. -

Somebody mentioned there's a memorial to Jack Walker at 1pm near his statue, he'll be turning in his grave at some of the comments, we're beat before we've kicked a ball. -

Are we seeing the pattern in senior players not renewing their contracts yet? -

I'd replace Hedges with someone from the fox and hounds, hes had plenty of time at Ewood to improve. -

Ismael has been straight talker, open and honest about the Travis's fanbase and the fact Travis has asked to leave Rovers. Is that wrong? being open and honest with the supporters, is that what we want as Supporters? Should the Travis's contract situation been sort by now? of course it should have been. A new contract and terms should have been sorted about 12 months ago and he should be seeing out the next 4 years here. Same as Brittain, Tronstad and Hyam. Hyam's contract should be easy one to sort out. A new 3 years contract with 16k a week plus bonuses based on performance. Same with Tronstad now and similar deal with Hyam. Rovers should be offering new contracts to Yuki Ohashi, Karbgo and Toth now. I noticed that Sreenivasa Rao was there on Tuesday against Bradford, anyone know why? -
He was in our senior squad at 16. He's moved backwards. The only 'right thing' about it is for his short term pay packet.

As expected, we're not offering competitive salaries to any of those having a year left on their contract. We offer the same as we did 3-4 years ago when the last contract agreement was made and now, basically, expect that the players will happily sign an extension to it. They probably asked LT to print articles about these "ongoing negotiations" with Brittain, Hyam, Travis, Tronstad etc. to make it seem like they're making an effort when in reality there is none. Then cry foul when some other club is offering better terms. We finished 7th last season in the Championship but the loser mentality of the board and owners belongs in the dustbin of football history. I'd rather take relegation to L1 over last year's result if it means a fresh start with new and ambitious owners. -

I will never hope Rovers lose. I always want the team to play to win, put it’s best 11 on the pitch, & everybody play 110% until the final whistle. Home league opener, I want to see all these things happen. But, reality tells me, there won’t be a lot of wins this season- I predicted single-digit wins earlier. Im saying Rovers scrap & hustle, do everything in their power, only to eke out a 1-1 draw. It will be something, but not the encouragement we want/need right now. -

Also needs the media to ask the right question, and numerous probing follow up question/s to whatever their answers are to the original question. Unfortunately, we have to rely on Jackson, who will likely just ask, "is there a complete freeze on wage rises?", to which the club can reply "no" as they are still offering wage rises to the likes of Michalski If we are lucky, he will then ask "is there a wage cap of £10k/week?", which the club will be able to again say "no" to (as it will turn out its £11K/week or something) -

It seems to me that the relentless squeeze on the wage bill is in preparation for the future in L1. The FFP rules in that league require the playing staff wages to be no more than the aggregate of 75%of the playing staff wage bill plus 100 %of so-called fortune income which is basically transfer fees. The fiasco with the upcoming out of contract players, making offers no better than their current deals also seems to confirm that there is a wage cap. Why does the media ask that question? -
