  1. Past hour
  2. In the position we are in you need a gaffer who can grind out results with the lightweight bunch he has even if performances stink. We've seen it all before and nothing changes that's what you need but we are bang back in the realm of tepid football, nice in patches but exposing weaknesses in key areas every game. He neither has the nous nor the will to sacrifice the nice patches in favour of defend from the front and protect the backline at all costs. Instead it's the usual guff of possession stats and if this went in or the ref didn't do that we'd be ok, rinse and repeat.
  3. I think our relegation rivals will be Sheff Weds (basically already gone as they will surely be hit with a points deduction at some point, so one slot guaranteed), Oxford and Derby. Sheffield United will get out of it with Wilder there, and I think Wrexham & Birmingham will spend enough to keep them clear. Teams like Watford, Swansea and Southampton look to have too many good players to go down. Portsmouth could get dragged in, but I think Mousinho is a good manager who will keep them safe. QPR and Hull seem to have done well in recruiting their managers. PNE could tumble, as they did last season, but at the moment don't look to be in danger. As far as the teams who, at this moment, look to be scrapping it out with us for the foreseeable future in those relegation spots... Oxford have a canny operator in charge when it comes to Rowett, but are financially weak in comparison with most of the division. They'll struggle but have fight in them, so they won't go down easy. Norwich will likely sack Manning fairly soon, and their next appointment will be crucial. You feel they have enough talent, particularly with a player like Sargent up front, to avoid going down. Derby are looking weak, but you wouldn't bet against Eustace ultimately keeping them up. Worrying start for them this season though, a lot worse than I expected. They've also spent some cash and may spend more in January. Then there's us. A poor manager who is highly unlikely to be sacked, and even if by some miracle he is, in typical Venky fashion it will be far too late. We have a desperately poor squad heavily reliant on a single player (Cantwell) for any form of creativity. The majority of Championship experience has been lost. We have as wretched of an attacking unit as I can remember in the famous blue and white halves. Ryan Hedges is a first teamer. Owners offer no hope for salvation, and neither do our senior officials. Very difficult to see anything other than relegation for us.
  4. Let's not get to downhearted with the Coventry result, we played well until the 2 in 3 minutes. We need to start winning our home games, it's time they rolled up their sleeves, and give the supporters a long overdue win. Coventry have had big wins against some teams higher up than us.
  5. Asking from a place of apathy. There's not a 16 year old 6 ft 3 goal scorer about to break through is there?
  6. Seems the lads' trip to Basran has had a knock on effect.
  7. I agree. There is an added problem in that it is so important to ensure that our fanbase can not be re-defined by Suhail/Rudi et al, as misrepresenting the situation at the club.
  8. I just thought it strange not having the insurance policy of another natural centre half albeit possibly inexperienced. I have never seen Montgomery play as in that position before.
  9. It's a pity the opposition play for 90 minutes, and take the points.
  10. This is a must win game which we won’t win
  11. Take it you’re still not worried about the lack of goals Chaddy, you told us all what a good transfer window we’d had and that Ohashi would easily score 15+ goals.
  12. Yeah was mishit, you are right on Toth not so the ref. He had a great game if you are a Coventry fan. Did not punish simulation, free kick before goal was not. Coventry constantly holding never punished, tiny Ohashi punished for "flooring" blokes that towered above him and outweighed him considerably yet nothing given when he is sent sprawling and so on and so on ad nauseum. His whistle blew every.time Coventry fans hit the required decibels. Another we fouled one of theirs nothing more ref gave foul and was leaving it at that, after the Coventry player worked him he dished a final warning to us. I suppose he did well in that he did not deny us penalty claims, no can't agree with your assessment on the ref. Course I could just be biased. Such a shame we played well, such a shame our manager is thick. What worried me most is we gave up, no heart BigMacs body language clearly showed he would rather be doing something else. Takes off Ohashi, keep crossing high floaty balls in for our midget forward line and then stops when we bring on someone who has a chance of winning headers. We deserved more but I think all relegated teams can sing from that hymn sheet. Wilder will get his Blades firing on Tuesday. Bottom soon enough. Disgraceful way to "run" a fiotball club, poor Jack.
  13. Hands are tied I think for this one. Need to play 4 at the back. On that basis I'd go for a 4-3-2-1 and be compact. Toth Abeliousu Wharton McLoughlin Ribiero G-Hickman Tronstad Hedges And then the front 3 is where it gets messy as were poor. Do we try and play a game of football with a 3 of Morashita, Ohashi + a.nother? Do we go lump it with Henriksson, Gueye and Gudjohnsen? Or do we go speed over precision with Kargbo, De Neve and a.nother? Or does it not matter at all?
  14. Im pretty sure we will lose it. I think Sheff U are struggling to score, but think they will get at least one and as we know, we are toothless.
  15. Short and Sweet..Lose this one Ismael and you can pack yer bags for me. 1-1😲 13,400.(3k Blades)
  16. For the derby game, everyone who goes, to dress in black, like attending a funeral. The cameras would pick that up, and nobody is breaking any laws or admission rules.
  17. Over these next two games, I’d be looking at bringing Gueye back in for one. Yes he’s pretty poor and isn’t some saviour or answer, but he does offer something slightly different and Gudjohnsen hasn’t appeared better
  18. Subs are always a debatable issue but Ismaels use of them is terrible to be honest. Changes for the sake of it throwing people on for the sake of it just to get mins but the way this club is now set up it's part of the bigger agenda. Increasing value through mins taking priority over everything else but to be fair to him i don't think Gueye or Kargbo would look out of place at Chorley. And throwing them on at that level probably wouldn't change a 0-2 game.
  19. A quick two fingered salute would have sufficed Ian...a pressure release indeed!
  20. I just had a look at their team yesterday. They’re certainly in a false position. Some good players with plenty of experience.
  21. It’s a poor do when you can’t manage to play on either side when you’re a professional. Even as an amateur I could manage playing on the left or the right. It’s just a matter of practice, practice, practice. We used to have small scale games with one sock rolled down. That was on your “ weaker “ foot and you could only pass or shoot with that foot.
  22. It could…but it won’t…start I mean. Not struggle. It will definitely struggle.
  23. End of the day doomed Sheff Wed aside the other relegation threatened clubs will look to rectify it in January as they don’t want to see their passion, their investment, end up in League 1 for both sporting and financial reasons. Here? Well, we all know the answer to that.
  24. He has played on the left of a 3 when he was in Poland. Cant see Ismael having 3 left footed centre backs in the same 11 though, even for 10 minutes
  25. Can Rovers blunt the Blades? 👀 Recent Head to Head
  26. This bollocks will have been deliberately spread out there by those in power to find leaks and to try and make the fans look like mugs. Heavens forbid they should put the same amount of energy into just doing a moderately competent job running the club. The fact that this was believable says everything really.
