  1. Past hour
  2. Unless I've missed it West Brom haven't brought in £45 million in player sales since 2022. They've also had to carry the legacy of a PL wage bill. So whatever advantage their bigger attendances provide I would expect to be wiped out by the above.
  3. I Was a bit angry yesterday with what I saw in the moment, after processing overnight and calming down I’ve still got the same outcome, we’re shit, and most of the new players are shit.
  4. 3 - 4 - 3 Seems the only way to play Miller & Alebiosu, One problem it means no cover for Alebiosu. Think they'll settle into a 4 3 3 Tóth Miller Hyam McLaughlin Ribeiro Tavares (Henriksson or Hedges) (Cantwell or Forshaw) New Ohashi Kargbo
  5. Pears would have let in at least one more of their chances, possibly two. I don’t think it was a penalty, but a free kick just outside their penalty area and possibly a red card. I think we missed Cantwell, and dare I say it Buckley.
  6. If Kargbo is considered to be our best player then we really are screwed. Yep. And as we hadn't taken possession of the ball when the ref blew, the defender was the one who had played the ball last he was right to give it to them. For the Miller one, he waited before he blew, so they had time to take possession and break.
  7. Good and honest write up Parsons but its comment's like this in bold that make me sad and frustrated. An exceptance of mediocrity from long standing supporter's just goes to highlight the general malaise and apathy that has enveloped the Club on all level's. It's so damn sad to read.
  8. I’ll go with: No extensions, some options taking up, others not.
  9. Ah, yeah that sounds quite key. Didn't realise they had lost those 3.
  10. It is pointless but it certainly hasn’t sailed it’s been their number 1 target all summer
  11. I guess the key is finding a way to turn the pressure up to the point they see opening the books as their best option.
  12. Chaddy said he wouldn't get a ST if Coyle was appointed in the run up to it, then changed his mind a day later when he was appointed.
  13. Maybe not on that one, as he’s ’a Dingle’. Which is why he wouldn’t want a very good manager, who’s from, er, Kettering, as our manager.
  14. The rule is if two players from the same side go down to injury at the same time then they stay on the pitch after treatment.
  15. Pointless if he's not going to be fit. Think that one has sailed.
  16. So what is your view of these owners and their fifteen year tenure?
  17. Not really Matty. I have a far more nuanced view of modern day football that goes much wider than just our club.
  18. I'll bet when Coyle was appointed manager and we were all spewing Chaddy said " he's got experience of promotion to the EPL, don't dismiss him before he's had a chance to show what he can do, let's calm down and wait and see". I haven't the energy to look it up but what's the odds?
  19. Correct me if I’m wrong, Parson, but you seem to have little issue with the owners. It’s just ‘well, we were spoilt with Jack and this is just how it is’? Is that a fair reflection?
  20. Careful Glen or you'll be sounding like Nicko!!
  21. That would all be relevant if the people making decisions were interested in anything other than getting their hands on transfer money and cutting the wage bill But there are no considerations beyond this so things like damage to the team, morale, upsetting fans, potentially ruining the season, all irrelevant.
  22. Travis is 100% the one leaving or available to leave if the right offer is made
  23. I agree, it’s Pasha then the owners. My real worry is, would they allow a prospective new owner to look at the books? I have a feeling that there are people on the payroll that shouldn’t be, but that’s just my gut feeling.
  24. Are we sure Travis is on his way out, I know Ismael hinted that is was possible but seems to be suicidal squad management to sell him now. Without Travis and Tronstad combo it could have been much worse yesterday. Travis is also a fighter and academy lad with a good connection to many fans. If that is the case I think it is a huge risk. We are already trying to get a cut price deal due to the fracture in his foot. Another unknown with no experience of the championship.
  25. Reflecting on yesterday's trip to The Hawthorns, I have to say that I was hugely disappointed on the whole day out. The M6 was its usual slow crawl. The digital ticketing system didn't work - stewards having to get people in via tickets they seemed to have. I had to go in behind the turnstile and the very helpful, but increasingly fed up steward, got me in via the turnstile operators door. This, after my digital ticket was scanned correctly, but the turnstile refused to co-operate and move as it should. Football clubs and technology really don't seem to mix well. As the for the game it proved to be the very opposite of what I expected. I had hoped we would come out of the gate with high press, high intensity and front foot football. No such luck. It was slow, backwards, sideways passing which never looked like getting the better of a decently organised but very ordinary West Brom outfit. I'll pass comment on the new boys - the first game and all that - but I've always believed that Tyrhys would be a huge loss and yesterday I saw nothing to convince me otherwise. Likewise Callum Brittain, who provided momentum to the attack which was sorely missing yesterday. I've always felt that this season would see us finish in the lower half of the table and nothing I saw yesterday convinced me otherwise. There's no disgrace in that for me. There are a number of decent teams in the Championship with more resources. West Brom had a decent crowd on yesterday and tickets weren't cheap - £27 for an OAP for an afternoon of mediocrity - but it illustrates just what we are up against. Listening to our head coach on the way home suggesting that a winger will be our only future addition to the squad is a worry. We badly need a striker. Yuki, I believe to be an excellent player who links up play and has the required work ethic for that role. However, I don't see him as being a 20 goals a season man. Without signing an additional striker, I think it may be in for a long hard season. The bright spot of the day was that as a traditional club, Albion always do a traditional programme and it's always of the highest standard. Yesterday was no different and this season their programme is celebrating their 125th Anniversary at the Hawthorns, with various features on their wonderful history at that famous old ground. Football is about memories, stories of past players and past glories and this programme is certainly carrying on that tradition in fine style.
