Of the 3 players who were loaned out to this level last week, 2 started games yesterday, one playing 75 minutes, 1 playing the full game, and the other played most (if not all of the second half)
-
I’m guessing these short term loans are to give the club who recruit them cover when they have injuries. If this is the case they’re unlikely to get any meaningful playing time which makes it a waste of time.

The media - in plural? Did you just admit that you have reliable information that the Lancashire Telegraph will be allowed to ask Ismael questions after the international break? - Today

I still think the no promotion or relegation for the U21s might effect the way loans are organized.
-
He can certainly tackle but I don't think he has the intensity or anticipation at the moment to be a lone holding midfielder at the highest level. It's why I think Palace have played him with someone like Hughes, who is more physical. That's not to say he couldn't do a job at times.

Unfortunately for everyone else, yes. The only Deepdale game I've missed recently was the 4-1 win. 🙄 -
As important as the standard is the length of the loan, I believe. A work experience loan for an U21 player of a few weeks gives no time to adjust or gain meaningful playing experience. Moreover, it's a recipe for getting injured. I cannot understand why the club persists with these bitty, risky non-league loans which also disrupt the U21s without any reward from what I can see. By all means, send out someone you're letting go or isn't involved, but a Joe Boggan who is probably second choice striker for the U21s deserves much better. If not, keep him here, grab some goals and get a better loan in January or next season.

Simultaneously able to tackle AND difficult to lay a glove on.

It’s the game, it’s cynical and we are no different you just choose not to see it - just like with refs that you seem to think have it in for Blackburn Rovers. -

The biggest game of PNE's season. So much excitement round their end ahead of this one. They're rushing to get their tickets bought. Fans flying in from America and Sweden, the spud vans are stocking up, the whole shebang. It's quite flattering. We're just a 'crap, insignificant, plastic club' though, apparently. Can somebody remind them about that? I like how many of them are getting overconfident with their predictions for this one. We know how that ends, usually. It will make it all the sweeter when we do a job on them and leave with the points. Nobbers need reminding as they always get away with themselves when it comes to Rovers. No matter how crap this shit regime has made things for the club over the last 15 years. This is still Blackburn Rovers. The name still carries weight. We are capable of beating anybody in this Division and we are coming for you. -

Bang on. He doesn't fail. I think part of this is he doesn't feel pressure on a football pitch, not like normal people. He's permanently calm. His interviews have highlighted this in the way he talks about the game. He's a very special boy.
