  1. Past hour
  2. Comment in LT that River level is high now.
  3. I think it's only a problem when the water level of the river is too high Surely it won't be at the moment
  4. Fair play great work any supporters at the game today hope you get some goals for your efforts 2-1 rovers
  5. Anyone know of its reliable to get the number 1 bus up from Darwen to Ewood around 2.30 for the game? Wife has the car today... I guess could be risky with crowds/traffic? (Also how can the train line be so close to ewood but the two nearest stops are an hour walk in one direction and 40 mins in the other??)
  6. The forecast is that it is quite moderate for most of the day, but then starts hammering it down during the game. I agree the game should probably go ahead as there wont be enough time for it to build up.
  7. I think we might just get away with it because it was a nice day yesterday. I've just been out in it and whilst it's persistent, it's not exactly hammering it down with torrential rain. It would be rather embarrassing if we couldn't cope with this unless it gets a lot worse out there.
  8. I’ve now spent a further 45 minutes and got a little further and managed to actually get to the E-ticket but it won’t download to my Apple wallet by Safari, Edge, Google Chrome or Duck Duck Go. Just glad I kept the plastic card 😮‍💨
  9. It's not very heavy rain. We've played in worse
  10. No doubt they will still water the pitch before kick off
  11. Today
  12. True. And I'm guessing nothing has changed, and looking at the forecast for the day that will no doubt be a problem today?
  13. We had a game called off last season ( or season before) for this exact reason...Was it Portsmouth?
  14. It probably doesn't matter if they do or don't cover the pitch, if the water cannot drain away. I believe in the past the postponements have been caused by the water backing up due to its inability to drain into the river.
  15. Phil Jones has been doing the rounds recently claiming what a huge "Blackburn fan" he is and how we are and always have been his club etc. Also desperate for a move into football as stated on the recent podcasts etc he has been on, and also has been around the club a lot recently I believe. Surely a coincidence that a half decent position at the club has just opened up?
  16. We'll either be winning 1-0 and the ref will abandon the game after 40 minutes because the ball won't roll anymore, or it will be called off at 2pm when most folk including 4k Ipswich fans are already there. Can't imagine they have taken any precautions like covering the pitch etc because thats not what they do.
  17. 2-0 Rovers today I reckon! Ipswich haven’t exactly been on fire so far this season aside from beating a shocking Sheff United side. Think Ipswich have decent quality and they will get better as the season goes on but today we bag our first home win of the season 💪🔵⚪️
  18. I'll summarise for you. We had an awful start but the last 3 games have been more encouraging (despite the loss with 10 against Norwich). We'll know which direction we are heading with Ismael by the end of October. My expectations have been reduced by the player turnover so if we comfortably avoid relegation and a few new signings show promise, that will be a relative success. Still not sure what his brand of football is about though.
  19. Your stellar contribution to this tread is much appreciated
  20. Yeah although I don't know for certain the reason, I hope it's not a full blown injury and they're just handling him carefully, but it's a full week since he played and after a clean sheet last time round to me it would be odd to change it unless absolutely necessary.....could be that Miller has been on fire in training and VI thinks he warrants a start I guess.
  21. Aye second this Holly tree john bulls 👌👌👌 in fact ill call in on way home from the match
  22. Steady rain but not torrential at the moment - really will be a poor do if we can't get the game on somehow or other. Do we cover the pitch?
  23. It’s free for ST holders or the games are at Brockhall where anybody can rock up. Academy teams aren’t there for anything but to find those odd diamonds for the first team, the rest are just making up the numbers until they end up at a Barrow or in Tesco. If you are expecting no holes barred fights for glory then more fool you for wasting your four quid at Leyland.
  24. Not this again, please., I’m begging you all.
  25. VI seems to like Montgomery very much
  26. Winning isn't the be all, but certainly, it breeds confidence and creates an environment for player development. So, to my mind, results and team performances are an important part of youth player development. Those who deny it are usually underperforming coaches! Incidentally, I came across the following Rovers reserve result from 2002-03, when the first team was in the Premier League. Looking at the opposition players that became Premier League stalwarts or regulars, it was a remarkable result (albeit, Newcastle lost a man on 40 mins). A lot of stories in there but it's a curious feeling looking back at in hindsight. 23 January 2003 Newcastle United Reserves 1 - 2 Blackburn Reserves Half time: 0 - 2 Score Sheet: Gavilan (85) Grabbi (27) Grabbi (42 pen) Teams Steve Harper Brian Kerr Titus Bramble Steven Taylor Peter Ramage Andy Ferrell Diego Gavilan Jamie McClen Lomana LuaLua Shola Ameobi Bradley Orr Ryan Robinson Jonathan Douglas Alan Morgan Neil Danns Michael Taylor Gordon Greer Jerome Watt Ciaran Donnelly Ciccio Grabbi Jimmy Corbett Paul Gallagher Substitutes: Adam Bartlett for Ferrell (43) Damon Robson for McClen (55) Darren Hockenhull for Grabbi (65) Subs not used: Kris Gate Martin Brittain Neale McDermott Steven Drench Sebastian Pelzer Anthony Martin Andy Bell Bookings: Ameobi (39) illegal tackle Bramble (90) dissent Taylor (11) tackle on LuaLua Dismissals: Steve Harper (42) straight red for tackle on Taylor.
