  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed. Today is probably the day where loans make most sense. A couple coming in to add some extra quality and depth. Especially people like Browne who arent in the plans of the club that they are at but they would bring experience and an upgrade on what we have. The attitude we have towards them is counterproductive. We seemingly would rather go into the season short. And im sure the "project" will change next summer as it always does and we will bring in 5.
  3. The Jam - Man In The Corner Shop
  4. Because Nixon says we still want some in. When we do don't get them, it will be "well we don't need anyone else anyway".
  5. First interaction of deadline day. I never said that Pears will be number 2. I dont think he will. I think he SHOULD. Opinions dont have to match what actually happens. We dont just have to parrot what the manager says and does.
  6. As we only seem to buy foreign randoms from distant lands unless they are already in the building we likely won't be signing anyone today.
  7. So good it was posted twice
  8. Pears to stay is about the biggest headline in my prediction Has he played at all for U23 or U21? Wonder if there may be an insurance case going on? (Also suspect that he is on more money than he should be…)
  9. Fingers crossed the lads on duty come back unscathed
  10. Pretty crazy what’s gone on really, we had a team/manager that finished 7th. It could have been such a simple window of offering decent contracts, signing a decent striker and a winger and majority of fans would have been happy. Why do we never build? although it’s a little unknown yet I’d say we’ve had the worst window in the league no including sheff Wednesday, all things considered with who we’ve lost etc the lack of β€œlet’s add” to what we had, the promoted teams have really strengthened, we’re weaker than all the relegated team regardless who they’ve lost, can certainly see why eustace left, derby want to move forward.
  11. It's a great plan from Rudy. No really it is. Sell the guys we all know weren't good enough and buy new guys who we haven't yet learned aren't good enough. Sprinkle with lucky dips from the Academy tombola and tell everyone it's really exciting and we're being backed by the owners for this mega transformation whilst out of sight behind the curtain the incoming transfer fees magically disappear. Splash a few marketing words about, inflate expectations using a bit of hyperbole here and there and we're good to go for another season. What could go wrong? We're so lucky to have this board and ownership. No really.
  12. How come you are so confident on getting two in?
  13. With Wharton being injured, I doubt he will be sold today. However, it will be a disaster if he does go for Β£150 Million and Rovers get a big pay out. Pasha will be a hero in Venky's eyes and the face washing will continue way into the future with Pasha having complete autonomy. As a side note, I have heard from a Wharton family friend that Adam favours a move to Liverpool.
  14. 100% agreed. Tronstad will be having to do the job of two men over the coming weeks unless an experienced Championship reinforcement comes in. As a result he is guaranteed to break down. A decent CM with pedigree of this league is surely a must but the penny pinchers won't see it like that.
  15. Unless there has been a deal that's been going on for a bit already, it's unlikely we'll get anyone in today. Worryingly, the club seem happy enough with the squad, despite the gaping holes in centre mid and goal.
  16. I've heard they're just sticking on the fax machine to warm it up / check it still works. I'm not sure we've paid the phone bill recently though...
  17. Pears as much as id like to see him leave cannot go without an adequate replacement. At the moment we are weaker than last season in the following areas: Right back (new lads looks promising but isn't better than brittain at this moment) Centre back (in the short term) Left back Centre mid Right wing Backup keeper (if pears goes) We are stronger in the following areas: Backup right back 1st change at Centre mid Backup striker (gudjohnsen over Gueye) Potentially left winger (new Japanese fellow) Potentially depth for the no. 10 (Swedish lad) I'm not fully sold on our business so far. We need a few of the new lads to be run away successes to consider that we have done anything other than regress massively. Still not sorted out tronstad and hyam either.
  18. By "bananas", we probably mean that the wage offered were at a similar level to other Championship clubs
  19. We see Sit back and look at the situation objectively. Pears hasn't feature in our pre season friendlies, no league and cup games or has even warmed up with the keepers pre game. Does that really say Ismael wants him here or any chance he is going to be number 2 here this season when you sit back and look at all the evidence against Pears here?
  20. Hopefully, these are just muscle injuries coming from a combination of workload and the fact that he's had a reasonably big growth spurt over the last couple of years. But it is definitely concerning. Picking up non-contact injuries every 3/4 months is not a great sign.
  21. Terminate his contract?!? Why would they do that? He's a 27 year old with at least 80-100 Championship games under his belt. And he's contracted till 2027. Surely someone would take a punt on him at Β£500K or so. His wages won't be astronomical either, will they? I did see a rumour the other week that Broughton did get contracts signed, but went a bit bananas with the wage levels. Be interesting to see what Pears is on.
  22. Any sign of the order? Delhi High Court website doesn't seem to load for me these days.
  23. I also thought they were thinking along these lines, but it's a serious risk. You're basically reliant on another club in the Prem/Champ/L1 being willing to loan you their 3/4th choice keeper. Even worse if the league says that Goddard's 6 games in Ireland count as senior matches.
  24. Central midfield is currently very weak. If Tronstad were to be injured we would be in dire straits..can you imagine a combo of Tavares and Montgomery…relegation written all over them . Alan Browne is a tough, experienced, intelligent player …I can only dream . Without him or similar before the close of play today ….were buggered .
