Caption fun - What are they saying??
Upside Down replied to ...'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
"Only two and a half more years to go. Come on Val, you can do this, just think of the money." -
@Herbie6590crossing over threads slightly. Does this read into which kit a little more perhaps? Would they play in a commemorative shirt with the poppy on it?

The club is of course a mess, but this is a strange stick to beat them with. What it shows is how quickly jingoistic lies spread on the Internet these days. In the current climate this sort of thing could spread quickly at any club and need putting down. The club have acted quickly to quash it, and that's the right move. They're not to blame, whichever pillock fabricated this is.

But Britain arms, supports and enables all of these regimes. Especially Saudi Arabia. In fact the only reason it is Saudi Arabia and not just Arabia is because of Britain and the US. I'm hoping this discussion doesn't get nuked because it's a crucial element of this overall discussion here. Personally I wouldn't take Saudi blood money but I wouldn't take the US blood money either. My main gripe with players in the Saudi pro league is the same as it is with other leagues of a similar format and that is they are tinpot and Mickey Mouse. If you don't have proper relegation and promotion then it's not a proper league system in my opinion. I am glad to see Buckley doing well though, hopefully he can use this as a platform to get a gig at a proper club and play in a proper league.

Remembrance Day
Tyrone Shoelaces replied to Mike Graham's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Even under the chicken chokers this was pretty unbelievable. What had they got to gain ? Having said that what have they got to gain in owning the club ? -

Suhail Shaikh / Pasha / The Shadow Man
Upside Down replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yeah that's not the same person. That's like talking about Steve Waggot and then bringing up Steve Winwood's CV. -
True - I’d also like to know the bona fides & motivation of the poster on Facebook who started this…
-
Given the context of what was said and how important remembrance day is to people, a quick statement from Rovers were right decision. Shame we aren't quick enough on making statement on other issues

Coleen would be proud…

Who is Suhail Anwar? I must be missing something...I thought our guy was Suhail Shaikh....although he seems to go by the name of Pasha too. -

I think that one will stick.. -
People making these stupid rumours up just cause people to suggest that the issue is our "negative" fans rather than the club as in this instance they havent done anything wrong.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coach
John replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Over the years, I’ve always held fond memories of most of our coaches and managers (obviously not Kean). At times, JDT had us playing some brilliant football - it went sour at the end, but I don’t hold it against him. I’ll never understand the petty comments when they move on. -
The fact that Rovers have had to move with speed to prepare and release a substantial club statement late on a Friday evening in mid-October, the night before a game, and 3 weeks before date in question, following one person posting this on twitter, just shows where we are at as a club. Something that would be utterly inconceivable at any other professional club, here is believable and so much so that one post on twitter snowballs into something massive and forces the club to respond like this. That is purely because the club cannot be trusted and no story, no matter how ridiculous or extreme it might appear, can be ruled out at Ewood Park these days.

Mm, not how I remember it. I thought Andy played the deeper role with Reg playing alongside Big Fred. -

Coventry more incentive to win if Boro hold onto their lead. Callum Brittain gives away a sillly penalty and George Hirst misses. Then Kipre gives away a comical own goal. -
Rovers can confirm that its annual Remembrance Day commemorations will take place on Saturday November 8th, coinciding with the club’s 150-year anniversary celebrations. Ahead of the game against Derby County, the club will honour and remember fallen servicemen and women who tragically lost their lives in conflicts past and present, while also showing appreciation to those currently serving in the UK’s Armed Forces. Although final arrangements for the pre-match tribute are still being confirmed, Rovers can announce that wreaths will be laid in the centre circle, where the two teams, match officials and standard-bearers will gather. The ‘Ode of Remembrance’ poem will be read by Reverend Ken Howles, ahead of a period of silence, which will end with the playing of The Last Post. In keeping with annual tradition, the Rovers players will also wear poppy shirts for the game and we are honoured to be joined at Ewood Park by the Accrington Pipe Band, local cadets and Armed Forces veterans. Poppy stalls and bucket collections will also be present around the ground, helping to raise vital funds for the Royal British Legion. Rovers’ annual Remembrance fixture is a deeply significant date in the club’s football calendar. While some elements of this year’s tribute will be slightly adjusted due to the anniversary celebrations, and essential health and safety considerations, the club remains unwavering in its commitment to honouring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. Neil Shorrock, Royal British Legion Blackburn Chair and Blackburn Poppy Appeal Organiser, said: “We are immensely grateful for the continued support that Blackburn Rovers provide to the Royal British Legion and the Armed Forces community. “Your commitment helps honour and support those who serve and have served.”

IF this is true and I certainly hope it isn't, it will be the biggest of dozens of own goals over the last 15 years. It will be rightly condemned and highlighted in the national press and broadcasters, and could well be the nail in the coffin of this toxic regime

It’s not the day before a match until the club releases a nonsense statement entirely of their own doing.
