  2. What's the plan if they walked? Put ticket prices up. Introduce a match-day buying tax. Cut a number of long-serving staff. Get rid of things like the women's team. Make the first team squad made up of a a majority of youth players, loans and freebies. Cut any fan-friendly services which cost us money, like match day programmes and Radio Rovers. Sell half of Brockhall for land. Reduce travel expenditure like flying. Cut back on non-essential ground maintenance. After that, we will see how much of an annual loss we actually need to fund. Oh, hang on a minute......
  3. I agree. The WATR statements do come across as "meek" and somewhat like a jilted lover telling their friends about how their cruel and bullying ex doesn't talk to them anymore, whilst pleading with the same ex for better communication and respect in their 'relationship', rather than just calling out the ex for the insufferable shit they are. It feels a bit sad to read and definitely doesn't seem to carry any impact, whatsoever. But I might be missing it so I'm genuinely happy to hear what people think the statements are achieving.
  4. The Venky’s can’t just “walk” - they own the club so are liable for any losses until they agree sell to a willing buyer who’ll then be responsible for said losses and a plan to run the club better. What we don’t want is absent ownership content to cover the losses by asset stripping, whilst the value of the club slides further into the abyss and fan numbers continue to drop off a cliff. The fans only job is to highlight the nonsense, state the facts & failings of the last 15 years and support the team on the pitch.
  5. Once they walk then a new owner comes along. Many, many, many owners have given up owning clubs and funding losses and have passed it over to someone else to take it on. League One Reading managed it only last week. The fans don't need a plan on that front. It isn't a job for the fans to concentrate on. All we can do is hope the new owners are better than this lot (highly likely). No club has ceased to exist because an outgoing owner hasn't found a replacement.
  6. Genuine question... If the protests / banners / letters / video messages actually worked and the Venky's walked - what's the plan to cover the annual £20-£30m loss? Genuine question, is there an actual plan? Do the Supporter Groups have an alternative owner lined up, or is it just a case of accepting whatever?
  7. https://www.roverstrust.com/news/statement-blackburn-rovers-women "We had been in dialogue with club executives about the future of our Women’s team as per our memorandum of understanding, but were only given 10 minutes notice prior to the announcement." We call upon the Board and Owners of Blackburn Rovers to think again and have serious discussions with ourselves as to how the Club (Men’s and Women’s teams) have a viable and competitive future.’ Honestly lads, I'm a WATR member but they clearly don't want to have the relationship with you that you want them to have. You can call on them to have serious discussions time after time but they won't. They see minimal discussion with you as a box-ticking and appeasement exercise, to be shown as an example of engagement. This quote from the Rovers website reflect the whole approach of this regime to the club over the last few years. There surely comes a day when you have to draw a line. Join the coalition.
  8. How do I convince my Burnley supporting wife that we should have a 'random' trip to Alicante then!
  9. Thank god for the NIMBYs of the Ribble Valley taking a stand against the housing plan … as our fanbase wouldn’t have.
  10. It has already been pointed out by Rudy Gestede, that we should be very grateful to our owners that we have a team to support every other week. Hard to understand how we managed without them for 135 years really.
  11. So true. Remember how many people on Facebook, twitter, LET were applauding the club for trying that very thing with the whole training ground palava , all under 1 (smaller) roof approach. How anyone can claim to be a Rovers fan when they will blindly defend and advocate things like that.
  12. Surely they'll shut the whole thing down anyway---intentionally or otherwise? if they stay that is. I can't begin to imagine what the Club will look like after anther 15 seasons of their tender care. We'll be in Div 2 by then or out of the League altogether.
  13. You need to down the Webex meet app - then when the cause list is published there is a link on there. I’ll add that link to this thread if you wish? - cause list is published the working day before the hearing is due.
  14. The owners have absolutely no interest in Blackburn Rovers, none - the history, the heritage, the drive to operate at the very highest level they can, the 'community' of a football club half way round the world they haven't even bothered gracing with their presence for a decade, means what to them? So using the justification of yesterday; By transitioning into a lower tier, the club can continue to support competitive football in a structure that is community-based and financially viable In their minds why not for the club as a whole?

  16. It makes financial sense to shut the whole thing down and put houses on Ewood and Brockhall. I'm interested as to why some seem to think it is ok to slash in some areas because it saves money but stop short of going the whole hog. Basically it's because "I'm alright Jack" as long as there's a men's team at a reasonable level every other Saturday at Ewood nothing else bothers them. Be careful though...the same excuses and reasons for this could easily be transferred elsewhere to justify what they are up to.
  17. Ah in that case let's take the men's team to semi-pro too. The other common response seems to be "did you ever watch the women's team", in which case let's reduce our youth teams and under 23s as well.
  18. Just to lightened the mood… I was watching the case and my wife woke up and asked what on earth I was doing. I’d have felt less ashamed if she’d caught me watching porn 😁😁
  19. Read comments on the LT chat site yesterday. There were about 10 comments on this development and all of them approved it as a sensible decision! Losing money, low crowds etc.
  20. The cynic in me would ask why they just say 'club event' rather than any specifics.
