  1. Past hour
  2. This referee is awful, he’s giving us nothing! Oh sorry I peaked too soon, whatever happens I just hope we have the most xG
  3. I did warn you to say I was being hyper optimistic The more realistic view to take is that much like the crap upfront, the rest of the team who create chances will tail off as the season draws on and the depth reduces
  4. It would, you need to win your home games for survival.
  5. If we managed to win today, we could leapfrog sheff utd, and get out the bottom 3.
  6. U21s play Man City this morning - score/update U18s are away to Leeds a midday - score/update
  7. It wouldn't be a disaster to be honest.
  8. Talks of a total boycott are pie in the sky at Rovers at the moment. I might be wrong, but I’d imagine it would have been pie in the sky at Sheff Wed before players and staff stopped getting paid, and a winding up order became a very real prospect. Too many of the fanbase here are satisfied as long as the owners continue to do the absolute minimum and ‘pay the bills’. I would say posters on here are probably some of the most informed regarding the last 15 years. A lot of fans don’t deep dive in to the ownership, the board, the involvement of SEM, the degradation of the playing staff, facilities and general standards. I’d be amazed if most of them know who Pasha is tbh. They go to Rovers for the social element, it’s their routine and they won’t be swayed on that. Every fanbase will be like that. We aren’t some strange anomaly.
  9. Mine arrived this morning, only ordered it t'other day! Great service 💯🙏
  10. The XG suggest we’ve built a shit squad of footballers who are incapable of scoring goals even when they get good chances, hence why we are in deep shit. It’s not ‘bad luck’.
  11. I still maintain we won’t get battered today. It usually goes like this… lose a few games, pressure mounts on the manager, fanbase expect us to get pasted, we come away with at least a draw so that they can shove it right down our ungrateful throats. 2-1 Rovers or 1-1. During the Kean era I went through phases of almost willing a defeat, in the vague hope it could be for the betterment of the team if it meant it pushed him over the precipice. As I’ve seen all this before, and knowing the manager won’t be removed, we have to hope this group can string enough points together to keep our heads above water. If we go in to L1, it could be years before we see Championship football again.
  12. This has got a dire 0-0 written all over it. Prove me wrong, Ismael! No..but seriously…please prove me wrong.
  13. Kean can never be used as a comparator, like Godwins Law where in theory if you compare someone to Hitler you lose the argument by default. I would have called it Gladwin’s Law but he came far too late! Every manager since has had various flaws to different degrees but Kean is far beyond; he was actively complicit in our downfall whereas the others are all symptomatic of it
  14. You will never convince that sizeable percentage of the fanbase, there’s always a reason why we can’t compare and it’s Venky’s or liquidation. This time it’s because Sheff Wed ‘have a much bigger fanbase’. ‘’We’ll be a Bury’… yes, we certainly will be when that’s who we are playing, still under this regime, in five/six years time.
  15. A proper promotion of the club, illustrating its historic role in the game and book ending it with Netflix’s ‘The English Game’ should have American billionaires lining up. No doubt in my mind that the Hollywood idols wouldn’t have looked twice at Wrexham, had they known the cut above and beautiful girl in Lancashire was available to save !
  16. Ismael clearly very prickly, but what does he expect? He has the lowest win % of any Rovers manager in decades. Okay, it’s a smaller sample size than Kean, but if he’s scrabbling round for excuses after 23 games and 6 wins, then it’s not a good look. The comments about the squad not regressing are incredibly stupid and shows complete disregard for the fans intellect. He did in a roundabout way allude to it being a difficult season due to all of the upheaval, but that was never once acknowledged in summer when they were telling us all what an exciting transformation it was. The fans knew the potential cost of this strategy, and at the moment, those fears are being realised. I’ve not felt this disconnect with a manager since Coyle. I can’t see him being sacked, I can’t see him walking away, so we just have to hope they can turn this form around. If he did leave his post (applies tin hat), I probably would be speaking to Mowbray about coming in for the rest of the season. He knows the league, knows the club, is a very good man manager and might just be able to scrabble enough points to keep us up. Those of you who oppose this (and I understand totally there will be a few), would you have any other recommendations or thoughts about a replacement? Don’t forget, Rovers don’t pay compensation, so likely would have to be a free agent.
  17. Don’t let anyone tell you Rovers wouldn’t be an attractive proposition to potential buyers:
  18. southampton are have surpassed us in underperforming their xG, can’t wait for them to catch it up today!
  19. Today
  20. Seriously wish that was us.
  21. Note that only a couple of the players are wearing the Maltese Cross. @Parsonblue I can't remember exactly where I saw that report, I could well be confusing two different reports as I read a whole bunch around the same time. I should have saved the page I saw it on. One thing for sure is that I've never seen anything to say that the team ever wore a plain white shirt. As has been mentioned, just because it was suggested in a meeting doesn't mean it was actually brought to fruition. I do agree that the possibility of a football team being formed Christmas 1874 and playing a few matches before being properly organised as a club is the most likely scenario here. At the end of the day our blue and white 'quarters' (as they were referred to back then) are totally unique in world football. Why we wouldn't celebrate that on what is supposed to be the 150th anniversary season I don't know, but hey venkys/kentaro/whoever else has their fingers in the pie have decided to celebrate this occasion by deliberately relegating both the men's and women's teams.
  22. Been a while since I felt this reluctant to head to ewood today. Got no hope of getting a result at all
  23. This just feels like a natural end to a bloody awful week. I cant see anything less than a 2-0 defeat
  24. They're not fans. Never have been, never will be.
  25. Not another match day. I can’t stand the agony and the hopelessness It shouldn’t be like this
  26. I reached the point of not giving a fuck a while back so I'm actually finding a lot of this quite funny. What else can one do? It's so completely absurd. For anyone to say that the squad we have now is in any way equal or better than the already poor squad we had last year is completely and utterly ridiculous. As I said when he was appointed, this guy is totally irrelevant. The sheer level of ineptitude of the people who run this club just keeps reaching hilarious new levels week after week. Seriously, if you support or defend them in any way you are not, nor have you ever been a fan of Blackburn Rovers. Just go away and fuck your sister like all your other inbred Dingle mates/cousins/parents/lovers.
  27. They nearly dropped last season and have recruited smartly this summer on a low budget to prevent a repeat. They have though a manager who knows what he's doing and people running the club who also care beyond their paychecks. They also seem to manage fine without a Cat1 academy AND did impressive early bird adult ST's a few years ago which took their home turnouts up several thousand. Everything we should be doing but with added bonus of billionaire owners and academy. Everything we aren't.
