  1. Past hour
  2. Hopefully there is a modest mutual agreement amount signed into his contract otherwise he'll not be going anywhere even if he tries to get himself sacked.
  3. Just think if our wonderful owners had gambled on he, Smodicz and and a good centre forward? But no cashed out as soon as possible... We promised to uphold the legacy of Jack Walker. The lying bastards!
  4. I think the terrible summer window sums up the issues we have in basically every area of the pitch in terms of selection. In defence, we had one of the better back 4s in the league last season. Now, as a result of one solitary injury to a player who is always injured anyway, we are left with 2 centre backs, one of whom needs nursing, and both are left footed so we will be left with a full back at centre back again. No wonder we look so likely to concede. In midfield, we brought in 3 players and none come close to filling the "replacable" Travis void. The loanee we desperately took last minute from the B team of a side in League 1 last season is the default pitch. The other 2 include a player in Tavares who is terrible and another who the other day on the team photo still has his foot in a brace. Attack is as problematic an area as any. We simply do not look like scoring very often despite signing numerous players. We signed 2 in De Neve and Henriksson who often sit on the bench despite needing a goal in favour of not using all of our subs. Hedges after the excitement of his seasonal goal has regressed to the mean and the less said about Kargbo the better. Morishita has shown flashes but often has struggled to get involved. And we will likely go back to our very average striker having seen our fancy new one having been happily waved away by his Belgian club show his inability to control a ball.
  5. Not old enough to know who 'Iley' is, but I'm pretty confident that Ince takes this title. He was generally a bit dim, but clearly tactically inept and living on the back of a highly successful on-field career. It's no coincidence that he's faded into managerial obscurity.
  6. Instant promotion, won't happen under the French Oaf! I think he will be gone by February 1st..
  7. How about a full Ewood against the likes of Liverpool,Utd,or Rangers...show us the respect our History deserves.
  8. Ince genuinely seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. After he left us he sank back down the divisions. I dont know Iley - before my time. But for all his shortcomings Ismael does seem to know the basics of being a manager.
  9. Players in my lifetime: Clayton, Douglas, Garner, Shearer
  10. Its obviously far beyond that the football "isnt as good as it was." Thats a provocative and unnecessary angle. Its a shame from both sides that people have to "feel sorry" for those making the opposite decision to themselves.
  11. Today
  12. I love going, can't imagine not going. Obviously, people can do what they want, but I find it sad that they've stopped going just because the football isn't as good as it was.
  13. Terry Jacks - Seasons In The Sun
  14. I wouldn't be to sure, it's rovers, result stands.
  15. In what sense? It's a real shame that something that was such a big part of people's lives has been destroyed by a bunch of corrupt children. What's worse is that this was allowed to happen by the so-called governing bodies.
  16. It could also contain a 'you won't get sacked if we are relegated in season one' and 'bonus for instant promotion from league 1' clause and bonus ...
  17. I reckon the attempt to switch to an academy heavy model was a desperate move because of the money issues otherwise they'd have plodded on with TM or similar. When that proved trickier than they thought with all the hassle with JDT and Broughton which will have ended up costing more anyway some bright spark (or shadow) then presented the sell everybody we can model. Reduce wages, replace with cheaper, pacify the agent involvement with a wad of commission then pray we stay up and grow these so called assets for a season or two. Then repeat. He just needed to get the right people in place first and get rid of all the opposition then install a cheap yes man with Championship experience and no relegation on his cv.
  18. Sympathy? I don't need sympathy thanks. I actually feel sorry for those who have given up going.
  19. And then get the Taliban to blow it up!
  20. Whilst it is forecast to be very windy on Saturday the main rain will be tomorrow evening into the early hours. We should be fine - well to finish the game anyway.
  21. I think you're right there, the gutless fucking coward.
  22. I haven't been to watch Rovers since December or January 2010/11 and can honestly say I don't feel like I have missed anything. The club's existence is completely and utterly pointless. Nobody was duped into buying a season ticket unless they are completely fucking brain dead. If people want to go because it's part of their social life or through habit or they just enjoy the experience then fair enough, not knocking anyone for that. But for someone to try and claim that they had no idea how the season was going to pan out or they for some reason thought that the club was actually going to have a single shred of ambition or dignity is completely and utterly farcical. You'd literally have to live in a complete vacuum whereby the only interaction you had with any aspect of the club or football in general would be the 2 hours you spend at Ewood every other week. So no, I don't feel any sympathy for season ticket holders, you knew exactly what you were buying into. If you didn't, that's on you.
  23. Watching Adam Wharton tonight he's a joy to watch
  24. An exhibition game after a serious league game. No-one would be that stupid….
