  1. Past hour
  2. Of all the things you could accuse the Club of "lying" is possibly a bit strong in that context. "Economical with the truth" maybe? I think it's a lot worse that they're dressing up this latest and frankly quite pathetic round of costcutting as an attempt to look after the fans and provide "great value" when I assume the reality is: 2024/25 Blues Membership fee £X p.a. Sky Sports available 2025/26 Blues Membership fee STILL £Xp.a. but no Sky Sports "Great value" indeed.
  3. Rainy and cold on in the corner of the open end at Roker, I am sure it was a Sunday game, I can't work out why... A couple of weeks before Xmas.. I have a feeling Bobby Mimms was playing..
  4. That would ruin the image that he plays the right way
  5. Good to hear it. Mine were never substantially altered as I recall but there was a strong Burnley influence on the Sports Desk at the time and I think they deliberately edited in some mistakes to make them read badly. Burnley counterpart Stephen Cumming's columns always read perfectly and were mistake free. I was also rebuked by e-mail once off someone on the Sports Desk for cracking an "obtuse reference" to relaxing with a can of 7 up (on a weekend when Burnley had coincidentally lost 7-0) which I took great exception to. They might have actually meant "obscure" but hey ho.
  6. Not available for the Preston game. Ok makes some sense. Nor for the Leicester, Derby, Birmingham or Wrexham matches. For those presumably the 'pie and peas' will be getting dropped again in favour of a cash grab hoping to rinse the tourists/expected big away followings/anniversary 'bumper crowd'
  7. Shame the professional players and managers don't recognise that and stop the constant attempts to con them!
  8. Bet he never shows anyone the Rovers social media piss take from when we won 3-0 at Swansea in 2022(?)!
  9. A love of the game at a level they can contribute at?
  10. My columns last season were printed verbatim with zero interference.
  11. If I was a (relatively) well paid professional footballer and my employer was pissing around with my career like this, I would be instructing a well paid legal professional, a well paid PR person and speaking freely to anyone who would listen about the facts in the matter. End of. The club has already constructively dismissed Travis by stating publicly that he is available for the highest bidder. He has nothing to lose and a lot to gain by adopting an aggressive stance on this. Go Trav. Let's see some VENKY shifting shithousery please! VENKYS AND YOUR STOOGE PASHA & WORK EXPERIENCE GOBSHITE FECK OFF!
  12. A space that feels even more connected to the club.....didn't they get rid of all the Rovers things on the walls in there? A bit like the murals on the corners of the JW and Darwen End. Could never get my head around them doing that.
  13. The bit about Travis refusing to play is probably bollux anyway - but If we suspended him for say a month and in the meantime he said he was willing to play again and we refused Id say that would be a fundamental breach on our part entitling Travis to treat his contract as null and void and to walk out for nothing.
  14. If that's the game that I think it was, it was absolutley perishing that day at Roker!
  15. I severely doubt it’s true to be honest but o think (as a HR guy) that we’d be covered legally
  16. Yes however the price of pies and gravy granules have gone through the roof. The point is that the club were lying when they referred to £15 as that is only for 8 games.
  17. If he refused to play, we could simply refuse to pay him. If he has refused to play (which Im not sure I belive anyway ) and we suspended him for a fixed period and then he said he wanted to play again but we said "No you're suspended" we'd be the ones in the wrong.
  18. So an aproximately 20% rise from last season, for most of the Saturday games.
  19. I thought Sodexho was responsible for Blues too… as that certainly was how Swag et al tried to avoid responsibility for the Liverpool Legends night held in there. ’We knew nothing about it, honest, we’ve outsourced’.
  20. Yeah true, just have my full conspiracy gear on today
  21. If it's true about suspending Trav, Val's honesty has probably cost the club 500k-1m. Now we've either got a pissed off player on £15k per week training with the reserves until Jan or we sell him to Derby for much less than they wanted. It's beyond amateur.
  22. Thanks. Is there still a membership fee for Blues and is it the same cost as last year?
  23. Today
  24. Great points made here. We have several chances to view an incident and there is still disagreement whereas the ref has one look, from one angle, at real time speed and has to make an instant decision. Are they going to get things wrong? Of course they are. We all would in the same circumstances. I know we all give them grief during a game, including me, but that's the instant emotional reaction. After the game maybe we should give them a bit of a break, particularly if they are prepared to say when they called something wrong. With the scrutiny they are now under, plus the outrageous abuse they suffer at the lower levels of football when they are learning, I'm frankly amazed anyone still wants to be a referee.
