  1. Past hour
  2. Would absolutely take Dawson on a 1 year contract and would make me feel a lot better about the situation at the back. If this can be done then make it happen
  3. No way Dawson comes under the current wage 'structure'. So either: 1. they break it 2. it doesn't happen Think we all know what the outcome is
  4. I'd like him to start wearing trousers long enough to cover his ankles - and to start wearing socks.
  5. Dawson would be an upgrade for a season. He probably knows he'd get gametime here and not so much at Brum, which is important in your swan song..
  6. I don’t think the judge has an issue doing and saying exactly what he wants. 😁
  7. Hyam ta ta message was short and not very sweet. The one i saw anyway, basically thanks for everything it's been fun, all the best. I never ever got the impression he ever really wanted to be here in the first place.
  8. Let's face it we have seen that before and unless I am very much mistaken, Henning Berg and Derek Shaw, were both paid substantial amounts, having done so. Nice to know the club have learnt from their past mistakes though.
  9. I'm calling this now - Jordan Rhodes will be the next Rovers manager. Exactly like Gestede effectively becoming CEO, he's a cheap option and no doubt will just say yes to whatever Pasha wants.
  10. I think in a pressing sense and energy sense hes really great off the ball, and when he gets opportunities his finishing is good. But he does lack the ability to beat players or hold up (not sufficiently strong or quick or skillful) and his movement to find space is not there. I hope Gudjonsen can be more of a danger on the ball, but looking at his stats to date I am not hopeful. Gueye under Ismael has been so disappointing. He was flawed before but now seems completely off it.
  11. Given this valuation and how supposedly our owners send £20m per year to keep the club afloat (although do have my doubts) is it any wonder that they are being asked to provided a bond, to be able to send future funds? There has been a statement made to the effect that they need to send this money to protect their investment, but given that every 2 and half years, the amount they send, is equivalent to the current value, that statement appears to be very miss leading. Perhaps that is the reason the judge keeps going AWOL as he will not be waiving the need for a bond, despite these frequent attempts to do so.
  12. The Venkys are trying to be allowed to send money without the need for further guarantee payments. They could always: Send the money and make the guarantee payment (no court input needed) and then; Go to court to try and get that payment refunded. I wonder (well I don’t really) why they haven’t chosen this option…
  13. IMO, a total unnecessary appointment and one merely made to try and deflect current levels of justifiable criticism aimed at Gestede. A former popular player with a friendly face will only cut it with the gullible and happy clappers! We have just 3 players (Barrett, Duru and O'Riordan) out on loan one of whom is in USA! Just why the feck do we need a loans manager!? Think it's an absolute nonsense and a waste of money when we seem to be cutting costs in every other direction.
  14. Or Rudy has told him he doesn't like his dress code and told him not to wear a wig.
  15. I think the judge may have done a runner as I’ve just tried to join the court proceedings and it says waiting for host… In the meantime, here’s the order from yesterday:
  16. Today
  17. This article refers to Sheffield Wednesday, it says EFL clubs get sold for 2 to 3 tomes their revenue, our revenue in the last accounts was 21.5 million, so around 50 million should do it. Chansiri has admitted he turned down two offers for the club earlier this summer, claiming one was worth £40m, with another £30m from a US-based group. At the time, the 57-year-old said in a statement: "I repeat that I am willing to sell but the deal must be correct on all fronts." The valuation Chansiri has put on the Owls is understood to be about £100m, more than two-and-a-half times what he paid when he bought the club from previous owner Milan Mandaric in 2015. Is that figure fair? With inflation, the £37.5m Chansiri parted with a decade ago would now be worth about £52m, still only around half of what he seems to be demanding to relinquish control now. "Most EFL clubs are being sold for roughly two or two-and-a-half times their revenue," says football finance expert Kieran Maguire. "In Sheffield Wednesday's case, that puts them in the region of about £40m to £50m. "When you take into consideration the state of the stadium, and the fact the club doesn't own it, they should be towards the bottom of that scale. The £100m valuation appears to be without merit and has no logical backing." During Chansiri's time in charge of the club, Wednesday have lost almost £200m. He originally spent heavily as he targeted a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2000, and has regularly turned down significant bids from rival clubs for sought-after players. But in recent years his spending has receded significantly, and the Owls are far more likely to be playing in League One than the Premier League in the next few years.
  18. So did Hyam escape without having to make a hostage video?
  19. I suppose from the regime’s perspective he has been an excellent appointment.
  20. Only a matter of time until someone takes on an appeal to an employment tribunal.
  21. Normally I’d agree but as it stands we are pretty weak. I think our attacking 3 as I put could get us the goals rather than Ohashi on his own.
  22. Yes I still do. You'll be the first to know when I change my mind. In that case I'll hold my hands up and admit that I was wrong.
  23. He might be great at the role, and I’m concerned over absolutely nothing. BUT Carlton Cole had 4 years as a coach under his belt before being appointed to loan manager. Edit - my mistake, 6 years as a coach. Jonny Evans has been given the role just this summer with no coaching experience, like Rhodes has, and at a club almost as dysfunctional as ours. The one thing Evans does at least have is leadership experience, a captain for Leicester City, West Brom, and Northern Ireland. From a non-emotional perspective, Rhodes has as much qualification for the role as I do. I would argue I have at least been in multiple roles where I am responsible for others and their development.
  24. Fair enough, I couldn't find his birthday at the time
  25. 100%.. And there is so much known about the negative impact of a bullying culture on morale, performance, staff retention-in particular, the impact on the motivation of an organisation's best staff.. I always felt that our positive culture/camaraderie etc was a key reason that the team managed to punch so far above its weight-particularly under Eustace. Now, not only has that been eroded, it seems to have been replaced by the polar opposite. So, do we think this more or less likely to help the team survive a very challenging season?
