  1. Past hour
  2. What sort of chances ? Half chances like the one Ohashi had at West Brom ? How many chances have we missed this season where you could honestly say - “ That was a sitter, I could have scored there “ ? Hardly any. At the moment don’t make enough real chances, that is unarguable.
  3. Sky is totally reliant of the Premier League and the Premier League is totally reliant on TV money from Sky, TNT Sports and foreign broadcasters. Meanwhile, clubs like United can make people on minimum wage redundant whilst paying players millions of pounds every year. Football in this country is a mess. Look at Morecambe, look at Sheffield Wednesday, look at what happened to famous old club like Bury. The authorities don't care as long as the money keeps rolling in. Eventually, I suspect, there will come a point when it will all implode.
  4. Rovers Women lost 2-0 to Cheadle Town Stingers in their opening league match. I haven't seen anything mentioned about this from Rovers.
  5. We’re under a fee and wage restriction.
  6. Just think, we can be told about how 'we can't compete' with clubs like Bolton, Wigan, Huddersfield, Luton and Cardiff. Have any of you seen how many people live in those places compared to Blackburn with Darwen?
  7. If we go down we ain’t coming back.
  8. Both Hull and Sheffield Wednesday are now under a "fee restriction" rather than a full embargo, Pretty sure "fee restrictions" only impact transfer/compensation/loan fees, not what wages they can offer https://www.efl.com/governance/embargoes/
  9. So despite Suhail claiming otherwise at the FF - there's no sign of Lowe anywhere? Im assuming this is Glen's "Court Case" he keeps alluding to. If it's not him no doubt he can correct me.
  10. I’m not knocking the NFL (not my cup of tea, but each to their own). But obviously the disingenuous way Sky are advertising these extra games is on the back of the NFL ‘red zone’ or whatever it’s called.
  11. Who by about December didn't want to be here either.
  12. Damien Johnson was stood on the touchline watching the warm-up whereas previously he was involved in it. I think Johnson was involved at the Hawthorns.
  13. I know there is one game left but week 1 of the Premier League was somewhat interesting. Liverpool's defence seems to need some work. Arsenal were lucky to beat Man U. A Man U team with a new look front line yet what's behind them hasn't changed. I am not at all convinced that Amorim's 3-4-3 will work. Spurs fans will think they are going places after battering a Burnley side that will struggle to get to 17th. Brentford's result was no shock. Losing a good manager and replacing him with someone with no experience rarely works out. Chelsea look like Chelsea. Expensive misfits struggling to play together. I did like Acheampong at the back. He's only 19. Over the course of the season will Sunderland beating West Ham be surprising? Or will Potter not last until Christmas?
  14. I must admit, NFL, Premier League, Cricket and F1 are all worth my subscription. Already looking forward to a new NFL season.
  15. Not that I am endorsing backing against the team but if you were a neutral gambler looking for value it's been a licence to print money backing us to lose recently. West Brom weren't far shy of evens, God knows what price Bradford were, Birmingham 13/10, Hull 11/10.
  16. Multi job Rovers. Physio and warm up coach. Director of football operations and pie order'er COO and CEO I'm sure there are more doubling up throughout the club now.
  17. Rovers offer less than 50% of a players asking price = business as usual. Club offers less than 50% of a Rovers players asking price = player hung out to dry in the (club) media, dropped from the squad and called a snake. Hull should offer £200k for Cantwell, Hyam, Tronstad and Toth... make us play the reserves, because that's apparently how it works at Ewood. Club is a shambles.
  18. It is a difficult market when 1) you’re offering sub par wages, 2) you won’t pay fair value for transfer fees, 3) you run out of cheap spots to pay low wages and fees using foreign exemptions. couple that with key player in the final year of their contract who know they’ll earn more elsewhere, and other clubs keenly aware that Rovers will be forced to sell at cut rate prices. I’d say under those circumstances it’s a nearly impossible market to do business in. I still can’t believe Wharton was sold for £21 million. Hutchinson going for £37 million highlights just how bad of a transfer that was for us…but desperate times cause desperate measures, and we’ve been forced into selling assets for nothing for years now.
  19. Id say so. No-one who wasn't "in on it" could surely be remotely happy with only adding a RW and (if he leaves) a Travis replacement to this squad.
  20. On a similar note I was struck by the comments underneath Jackson's latest match report in the LT. I'd say the Club plants who post non stop on there all day out themselves in fairly obvious fashion as the ones arguing vehemently that no-one could possibly ever be interested in buying us. At worst - you dont know until you try. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25395788.blackburn-rovers-self-sabotage-typical-difficult-week/

  22. It means he should have been given a decent contract offer when Eustace was here then John would've had to pay a good fee for him or leave him alone.
  23. He knows it isn’t, he’s operated at this level long enough. Certainly don’t expect any ‘ask Steve Suhail’ from this mon, he knows exactly what he’s signed up to.
  24. It isn't the market that is very strange or difficult, Val. I'd argue it is the ownership that makes it appear strange and difficult. I'd argue it is the man overseeing recruitment (who knows nothing about football) that is making it look strange and difficult. Other clubs appear to be doing just fine.
  25. TBH I don't think there is much intelligence from the Pasha/Venkys side beyond trying to answer the simple question "how can the club cover its own costs". The only viable answer to that is : Pay wages way below the average in the Championship Minimise transfer fees paid Maximise transfer fees recouped That explains the whole way we are operating at the moment. What is missing is within those constraints a committed and engaged owner would make much better strategic and tactical choices, whereas Venkys are so disconnected we make bad decisions again and again that lose the club more money and goodwill.
  26. I’ve always thought the squad was a concern. You have become hung up on what was a tongue in cheek comment and are reading far far too much into it. Which you have a history of, considering the tin foil hat stuff you come out with. We were discussing Elliott Jackson who you are harshly attacking.
  27. Another battle of oddball ownership. Tigers 1 Toothless 0
