Just out of interest, what is it that makes anyone believe a word he says? He didnt like loans either, supposedly. -

I do worry about the mental state of those of us who still put their faith in the club being good to their word, each and every transfer window -

Qpr paying £5 million for Ronnie Edwards at Southampton. Overpriced for me but depressing they can be paying those sort of fees whilst we scour the bargain bin and go to clubs with our begging bowl for loans asking the parent club to pay most their wages in exchange for us guaranteeing minutes -

Luckily most of us knew what was coming as soon as Ismael said he wanted players in quickly. I still can't help myself get mad though. -

And yet so very predictable Fair point, I could believe either to be honest, he is apparently aligned with the project after all -

Or did he know there was no chance whatsoever of that, but said it anyway to try and placate a gullible fan base? The signing we have made only seems to be here because he won't cost us anything whatsoever. -

Boycott Or Not?
speedies gonna get ya. replied to BRFCS.com's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
They are lucky that there are still fans attending and still those that feel strongly enough to try and change things. The apathy that is growing is the real danger that they seem blind to. They need to wake up, a one off boycott is not going to hurt them financially, but it might cause a few squeaky ring peices when looking forward. They won't be able to put season ticket prices up enough to get the returns they need which an uptake around 4k. -

Are we all excited for a busy next 19 hours ahead? Ismael wanted 3 faces in the side for the Hull game, one down, 2 more need to be signed before noon tomorrow to be eligible to play. Or has he, like so many before him, been fed a load of lies (edit - or he is himself "aligned") -
"Areas to improve," says McCullum How about batting, bowling and fielding for starters?

Ill be really annoyed if we put a line up like that out. It SHOULD be the strongest possible line up. (But won't be I know, it's just a question of degree.) -
I imagine I'll always buy a season ticket, as, I'm worried I'll get out of the habit if I don't. Having said that, I've noticed a number of games I've not bothered with this season (not just midweek), but weekends, when I've had stuff on and just not prioritised Rovers. The last two words above are what I've done for the bulk of my 41 years on the planet so far, that's what's changed the most under these sh1theads.
-
This isn’t exclusive to this topic but I’d rather see a healthy debate than find myself in an echo chamber.

I will be boycotting and if things don't change before next season I will not be walking down to Ewood anymore. Like may others I've attended for many a year but now I don't feel any connection with the club whatsoever. I've threatened to do this before and backed out to give them one more chance but I've had enough now. The Club is a shell of what it was. So sad. There are now other things in my life which will deservedly take priority. I hope the boycott is a success but I doubt it will change things.

Not to defend SG or MG but it would be fair to give some consideration to minutes as a sub and those of a starter, in addition how many sub appearances were in winning or losing positions at the time of coming on. -

I remember Marsh insulting the club and Jack Walker after Souness left when Stelling suggested Robson moving in the opposite direction. Called it an insult. Personally I think it's an insult when you're the recipient of a liver transplant like "Georgie" was and keep drinking yourself to death but Marsh has been rather silent about that. Your friends say a lot about you. -

Because they only want the corporate types there it's all this club is interested in. -
Been some revelation about Harry Brook in NZ (the series before The Ashes) scrapping with a bouncer, that's emerged today. When you consider that, then the trip to Noosa, it does make me wonder. I've no problem with players having a bev, but when they're scrapping with bouncers and Ben Duckett completing drinking this time around, it's clearly problematic.

I'd go the other way. There isn't that much difference from top to bottom, aside from the teams in the relegation spots. Although Edwards seems to have got Wolves playing. They narrowly lost to Arsenal and Liverpool. Drew away at Man U and Everton. Everton have a £100m player in midfield (albeit on loan). Bournemouth's striker cost almost £40m. Brighton and Brentford sold forwards for £50m+ over the summer. Forest have 2 England calibre midfielders. Palace has Gueye and Wharton.

I've never thought Gueye is up to this level of football. A big lump that causes defenders problems, but unlike say Simms or K.Moore, he doesn't return the goals required from a striker. Good luck to him wherever he goes next, but he should have been the one sold in August and Harry Leonard the one retained. For comparison, using TransferMarkt, I've taken the minutes and divided by goals across all competitions in a Rovers shirt to see where he ranks in terms of minutes per goal Sammie Szmodics* - 163.3 minutes Andri Gudjohnsen - 175.7 minutes Harry Leonard - 178.3 Andi Weimann - 185.3 minutes Yuki Ohashi - 275.1 minutes Makthar Gueye - 324.6 minutes Sam Gallagher* - 361.2 minutes (* For Sammie I used his last two full seasons with us and included those two games last season and for SG, his last two full seasons here.) -
