  1. Past hour
  2. This was my first thought when the statement by the Rovers was made. I don't know who to believe.
  3. I'm the same, had a season ticket every single season since 1998, including covid (I know many others have been going since 60s and 70s, but I'm only 34). I also go to quite a few away games. I now feel like I'm turning up out of some strange sense of loyalty and duty. I always take the view that it's my (our) club and not theirs, and that somehow we can see them off and start enjoying following the club again. Apart from the league one season, it's not really been enjoyable to follow the club for the last 14 years. There have been odd matches which I've really enjoyed, but it's maybe only a couple of times a season, but I just feel flat about the whole thing. If I tried to explain all this to someone who doesn't also follow football, they'd think I was bonkers to carry on bothering. The club isn't necessarily deliberately set up to fail, but it's not set up to succeed or make any progress, it's set up to be as low cost, cheap and cheerful as possible, which inevitably will lead to failure eventually. We aim for mediocre every year, so in years where we fall short of that (this season), we're in trouble.
  4. I’m not sure anything was made up. Make a monumental fuckup, big backlash, quickly change plans, deny and pretend it never happened. That’s the Rovers way.
  5. Its not just his comments but other things around the deal when it collaspe but Rovers wanted to strike a deal for him even if he was injured which suggested he was most wanted I think some signings have look good like Alebiosu and Mcloughlin, whilst some we have barely seen like De Neve or Henriksson whilst someone like Tavares has look poor in recent games. Still its too early judge some signings of course I am concerned about results cos I think our performances deserved more but we haven't took our chances or made a defensive mistake? last season is last season, has no bearing on this season performance does it? Its 1 game, FFS. This game was always going to tough one but we played well enough in the first half as people including were saying. I was surprised how attacking we were and I thought we would sit in much much. not in the bottom 3
  6. My daughter's birthday Tuesday. Born around HT in Rovers v Birmingham 1-0 2014. Since then, our home record on her birthdays: 0-0 Derby 2015 3-0 Portsmouth 2017 1-0 Cardiff 2023 4 matches, 5 goals scored, 0 conceded. I'm staying confident the streak will continue, at least a clean sheet, I reckon 0-0 or 1-0 win.
  7. Not only that but he was our only outlet. When he went off there was no coherence at all. He's also the only one of our strikers that's scored a goal this season. Gueye and Gudjohnsson could still be playing and they wouldn't have scored.
  8. maybe I should flip it back and we start winning games I would agree there sum? how much are talking here?
  9. Celtic fans are crying because they are not winning every game. They're losing to Dundee and Rodgers is unpopular.
  10. Are you deliberately obtuse as part of a bit? If so, I admire your commitment.
  11. Rovers fans have been very tame. This mismanagement would not be tolerated by most peer clubs.
  12. watch the games its clear how we are set up to win the game
  13. I would stick with the same team if possible. If not and Miller than I would start with Tom Atcheson or Kristi Montgomery at right centre back. Shame Carter not ready. Sheffield played a back 3 at the weekend not a fan personally of back 3 myself but without Cantwell I think 2 up front is the way to go
  14. Obviously don’t know you personally Carl but often read your posts and it is clear that your love of the club and loathing for the stooges and incompetents running our club runs deep. As such, it is so sad to read your latest post but it really hits a chord with me, I am attending out of duty and the enjoyment and enthusiasm has long gone. If me and you are feeling that way, no wonder the supporter base is almost dead and buried, Ewood is empty and the atmosphere morgue like with any home advantage conceded. Imagine being a player in the blue and white and trying to perform in such an atmosphere, I feel sorry for the players but more so for the remaining fan base as our club feels like it is on life support. If it would rid of us the Venkys, I would take relegation in our 150th year, in a heart beat.
  15. Today
  16. It’s not hard Chaddy. I didn’t say I didn’t know how we set up. I said I can’t see how this group of players can be set up to win games regularly. You tell me?
  17. A question we've all been asking for a decade plus. Not sure there's been a situation like it at this level - not that I can recall, anyway. Disinterested, useless owners are almost always gone within a few years at most. Not ours though.
  18. That’s a potential explanation as to why they are shrugging their shoulders this season… but the second part, I.e why this interminable, joyless (on both sides) ownership never ends?
  19. My guess - if we assume the aim is not to actually get relegated - is that it's a combination of arrogance and complacency from the hierarchy. They've seen us compete in and around the top half in most recent seasons without a huge outlay, so figured they could continue that trend without too many worries. They clearly aren't particularly arsed about actually being promoted, for whatever reason, but felt there was no danger in releasing a significant amount of our Championship experience and replacing it with cheap unknowns. It would have been obvious to anybody with any modicum of sense that this was going to be one of the most challenging seasons in terms of staying up in a while, with no obvious candidates beyond Sheffield Wednesday to go down due to the three promoted clubs being pretty strong and no other clubs looking to be in major disarray. This was not the season to take such a significant gamble.
  20. Of course it is. That's why we win so many.
  21. At this stage You'd have to be looking at throwing a sum at an out n out striker now. We cant keep going on amd on defensively, we need goals. Can't win without em. We've enough to cling to at the back let's go for a better top line.
  22. Exactly. I'm not keen on having 2 left footed at centre back. Deffo dont want 3 in a back 3. No balance at all
  23. Its deffo concerned Ricky. I thought we would created more than we have but we need take our chances for sure like Yesterday Watch the games it clear how we set up to win games. Did you watch yesterday game Den?
  24. Early goal for Sheff U and no Cantwell in our team and we all know the outcome. School yard bully with their hand on our forehead whilst we aimlessly swing away.
  25. Presuming Rudy is still here next summer here is a tip sign players from promoted clubs. Those who are used to winning most weeks rather than losing.
