  1. Past hour
  2. Surely it couldn't possibly be Dolan's development has been stunted here ? I mean we could never contemplate that could we, the possibility that try and keep possession was the main thing drilled into them everyday. When did Rovers last actually have a crossing style of play and when did we last have an actual target man ?
  3. We may indeed have 2 players for every position, however that argument is nonsensical if they’re substandard. Across the squad the back up option is questionable or untried at this level. Christ if we’re honest half the first choices aren’t up to it. I don’t think anyone is advocating stock piling players, however what they are saying is bringing in quality that can have an impact now. Every player we’ve signed is less equipped to perform than their predecessor, I’m hesitant to say downgrade as it’s early days but the signs are there for all to see.
  4. I have seen what has Glen posted about that subject but I am not privy to what he knows or what these certain people have said to him. I have worked for some bosses I don't get with personally or vice versa where I get well with them whilst others have the completely opposite viewpoint. Unleaded is a good man and someone who has plenty of inside info, I don't know if he is on other social media but it was only a few months ago someone accused myself of saying something on Rovers facebook page cos that person had the same surname as myself, It wasn't myself who posted those comments on that facebook page so I warned caution against accusing people without actually knowing its them. Different people have left for different reasons. I read plenty of rumours like we had Brittain was set to new contract here then 2 days later, Boro and Derby put bids in for him. I heard some people on Saturday mentioned that they heard/been told, Brittain wanting 30k a week here or Pears is off to Manchester United this week or Eustace didn't want to leave for Derby. What is right or partially right or wrong, I don't know these days. Plenty of rumours I heard being discussed pre and during matches at Ewood. I am naturally a positive person and half glass full man. That's how I am and I would be changing from that but I will try to take abit more of objective look at certain things/info when posted. I would also add that every Rovers fan is entitled to their opinion and they opinion isn't wrong cos they don't agree with certain fan or supporter group/coalition or different opinions posted on here, or other social media. Maybe that person have different info from you or know certain things that other don't over a situation.
  5. Manchester? They are casting the net wide there. Obviously no kit manufacturer in BwD
  6. Macron headquarters/distribution are based out of North Manchester, so they’ve not even gone far for that one
  7. I watched the Atletico v Espanyol game and was struck by how different Dolan was in his willingness to cross early. His first involvement in the game he did his trademark slow down to try and speed up routine and got clamped fairly easily. From there on it was a case of touch out of his feet and whip it in, he looked effective to be fair to the lad.
  8. ‘I’ll see you in court’ probably.
  9. Behave, like you wouldn’t be having the time of your life if we were bringing in those kind of palyers.
  10. Given that Tom Wagner is co-founder and co-CEO of Knighthead Capital Management, he will have access and knowledge of a different range of people. I believe Knighthead Capital Management is worth around £7bn But still part of the wage bill and we are still paying the, pleased you aren't working in my finance department I wouldn't be paying any Championship player 60k a week. unstainable
  11. Regardless of whether you think he will or not, would you like Gestede to make a success of things?
  12. You'd want to make a couple of changes heading into this, I think. But who? Pickering? Maybe but doesn't offer much difference to Ribeiro. Miller? Not over Alebiosu going on last game. Foreshaw, Buckley? Absolutely not. Montgomery? I'd rather play Foreshaw. Axel? Nope, not yet. Gueye? Not if we fancy scoring. No real injuries of note and we're already scraping the barrel. When we've got 2 games a week and a few injuries the dearth of talent available is going to be really apparent. Can't see past a Hull (transfer embargo, remember) win.
  13. Gonna guess that he's not bothered, as he can watch Sky at home 😅.
  14. We can afford it, we are just unwilling to spend it.
  15. Today
  16. FWIW - on here I start at 6 being the base line of a competent performance. Anything higher than that indicates there were memorable/significant interventions in the game. Below 6 indicates memorable/significant errors/mistakes/ineffectiveness… I may well be treating it too scientifically…😆
  17. No, whichever centre half it was, he lazily stuck out a leg and tapped the ankle half hearted after the ball was moved on by the Brum player.
  18. I always thought they liked a ‘Big 6’ game to open the season. Didn’t realise one of them had to be a Big 6 also ran… which is obviously true in this case.
  19. Honestly a 2 word (one isn’t even a word) post from you is about the best thing connected to Rovers in years, welcome back, even if it’s just for that one post!
  20. Watched chunks of their Oxford game. Hull started fast, Gelhart knows how to attack the near post effectively and McBurnie still knows how to be in the right place at the right time. Other than that these are a lot less good than WBA and Birmingham. We competed well with those and conceded goals VAR would have taken minutes reviewing. Going to Mkm (don't go to MK Dons by mistake) I am not as pessimistic as others, lose and I will be.
  21. I have almost no expectations this year, so I will take whatever comes. I was thrilled we got a goal vs birm, so I can enjoy the small successes. I will be thrilled when we get a point, and when/if we win (got to keep our humor!) Even if we’re relegated, I’m Blackburn Rovers blue & white. Venkys, bad coaching, or crummy players on the pitch, won’t change that.
  22. He could be the best manager in the world, but being given the dross we gave signed, he has no chance of success. His fault for accepting the gig, but his stock will be so low, after his time here, comes to and end, it will be his last managerial appointment and I have no sympathy. Statements like we have an exciting summer ahead, just makes me angry with him, for leading the fans on. By the way, we are now fourth favourites to go down, behind Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford and QPR and I think Thats generous, as we won’t finish above two of those.
  23. Agreed. The fact we have spent a bit on fees this summer is rather deceiving (even though I'm sure outgoings will still end up seeing us turn a profit). The deception is the guise of investment though. We've slashed our wage budget again massively. Surely De Neve can't be on more than 5k per week. Henrikson and Alebiousi the same. We're recouping the fees and more with the slashing of wages, let alone the incoming transfer fees.
  24. I don't understand how people do ratings. Am I missing something? If 1 is the worst level of performance a player could display and 10 is the best possible performance, then how do so many fans give ratings of 7, 8 etc to players when we have lost a game where we only had two attempts on goal and barely any possession? Elliot Jackson gave half the team 8s out of 10 as well. If I saw a team littered with 7s and 8s I would assume we had played pretty well and won comfortably. The score is for performance, not effort. I can understand, people would want to rate someone's effort even if they fall short, but that's not the same thing. I filled in the PoTM form for yesterday's game and the other matches this season and then when I see the average scores given to players in all three matches I feel like I'm insane.
  25. For quite some time it has been: Waggott out, Pasha out, Gestede out, Venkys out. It isn't a case of just wanting one gone, or posters blowing with the wind. It would matter who replaced Gestede, but whilst Venkys are in charge it will invariably be someone corrupt, incompetent, or both.
  26. Yesterday
  27. They seem like very generous ratings to me. Especially in attack. Take the 2 wingers and striker. Between them, not doubting work rate but 7 suggests slightly above average. Between them, I can only remember the one chance where Hedges played in somewhat of a lofted cross that created a difficult header for Kargbo which never felt likely to really trouble the keeper. Have to do more in possession to cause problems. Tavares was a lot quieter but he played major roles in the concession of both goals.
