  2. Wouldn't be too disappointed if Weimann went. I'm thankful for some of the crucial goals last season but I can't see him being able to play the way Ismael wants, so then you're essentially keeping him as a bench warmer when what we really need is improvement to the starting eleven. To lose Batth would be much more disappointing given how solid he was at the back. Even as one of the older players I think he could still make a decent amount of appearances next year. We probably need another CB on top of that as well if Carter can't stay fit, and who knows what kind of player Wharton will be after such a long layoff.
  3. You know things are serious now. Waggott isn't giving that gig up of his own accord. Also another reason to delay any contract/transfer's etc. Not daft these lot.
  4. One down! All focus can now go on the King Rat... Suhail.
  5. That statement is a terse as it gets. Delighted he has gone but the big elephant is still in the room.

  7. England vs Zimbabwe starts today at Trent Bridge in cloudy conditions, with the visitors winning the toss and bowling first. This is the first meeting between the 2 sides since 2003 where I think Anderson made his Test debut. Keep an eye out for Blessing Muzarabani! Come on England.
  8. What does it actually say, for us non subscriber's?
  9. Which is why there is a good argument to say that the chaos that unfolded at Bolton, Derby, Reading etc. is a preferable and better outcome than what we are enduring here. Yes fine Venkys have ensured that the bills have been paid and we've avoided administration and all that comes with it. I'm not sure I'd consider that a badge of honour on their part considering where we were when they rocked up but hey ho. But those other clubs have suffered short, sharp shocks, changed ownership and cleared the decks and rebuilt and renewed. Give me that and some future optimism and trust between ownership and fans over the hell they continue to subject us to here, nearly 15 years in.
  10. I honestly believe this is going to get worse. Redundancies and deliberately relegating the womens team is a mere taster of what is to come. I read this morning that the vast majority of the players affected by this culling won't have the support of the PFA. The BBC article says you have to have played in the WSL to attain membership. Some of these will have nowhere to go for advice and it wouldn't surprise me if the shysters at Ewood took full advantage of this. Shame on the PFA.
  11. All rational thought says this can’t go on, indeed it wouldn’t anywhere else. So I get why folk think we’ve reached some kind of end game - ‘once the Sammie and Wharton money has gone’ ‘they’ll be gone in 12 months’ etc. Alas they won’t have. We’ve somehow stumbled across the most intransigent set of owners in football. I rue the day the Walkers sold this club and Jack down the river, all for a relative pittance.

  13. Or a new contract signing for one of our stars like Lorenze Mullarkey-Matthews 😉
  14. Discraceful. First it's the Women's Teams, then it will be the youth teams, then it will be the Men's teams... Just cluck off already Venkys.
  15. Would usually be about now that the club will feed something to Elliot saying we are "interested in x player" to try and get the fanbase talking about something else.
  16. Today
  17. Not unless we pay more tha.... eh never mind. What was I thinking. Loans and freebies as usual I guess.
  18. It’s a yes from me 👍
  19. I nearly voted for myself just now, tbf, but thought that might be taking the proverbial!
  20. I agree with this re-evaluation.
  21. Yep dumb enough to say the savings from the women's team will go straight into the mens transfer pot. Idiots beyond belief.
  22. I'm afraid there is always a market for stupidity.
