150th Anniversary kit/celebrations

The only thing that is any good for is the fire. Anything other than an absolutely scathing and brutal dissection of their tenure renders the rest of the book completely and utterly invalid. -

Wow, won't be parting with £40 or however much it is for a book with a full page glossy photo of those jokers. They should have just swallowed their pride and omitted themselves from the book. -
So, best case scenario he misses the games against Derby, Preston, QPR, Wrexham, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and probably Oxford as well. Worst case scenario (if 8 weeks) he's also out for Portsmouth, Millwall, Boro, Sheffield Wednesday again and most likely Wrexham again and Charlton. Potentially 13 games out. Best case scenario most likely 7 games. And that doesn't factor in recovery time which probably adds at least a game or two to each scenario. Better hope Pears comes in thinking he has a point to prove.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
StHelensRover replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I prefer to look at his 13-14 year managerial record when deciding on his footballing acumen. He got in to playoffs during the covid season with Barnsley and got into the playoffs in German regional football about 13 years ago. That's all he has achieved. During that time he's had more clubs than Tiger Woods. Edit - sorry. sounds like I'm being an arse with you there when I read it back. Basically, I made my mind up about him before we ever appointed him, I never wanted him, have struggled to warm to him, see him as a journeyman and average at best. I haven't booed or jeered him at Ewood like some parts of the fan base, but I don't think he'll ever get us anywhere. Would love to end up with egg on my face but I won't. -
That is horryfying news.

Where are Rovers old grounds?
Shirt of two halves replied to StubbsUK's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
From the Borough of Blackburn ‘Plan of Land’ dated 1882, the ‘footprint’ of the Baptist Church together with other land up to the back of the Leamington Pub and the backs of the terraced houses on Cheltenham Street does form part of the total land purchased by the Rovers. I do believe though that as shown in the artists’ sketch it remained outside of the perimeter fence and gates of the actual football ground. Revidge Blue alludes to the need for crowd management and a large spacious area outside the gates as a form of forecourt would have helped facilitate the entry and egress of the supporters. It might also have been used as a horse ‘n’ cart park. From the Northern Daily Telegraph report in April 1893 I’d also be interested to know where Wellington Road is in the area. -

Pure embarrassment and anger at how this had all been handled. -
1-1 now. Amusing side note, just before the break Duffy threw a tantrum directed at Liam Manning. Promptly subbed off at half time. Lol.

Standard Rovers playbook - get former players to record messages and send them in - easy and cheap Where are the other announcements they were going to make over the course of the day? I've seen the embarrassing 'VH Group' pages of the book. Amateur hour. The piece is written by a third party heaping praise on the owners for their impact on the club but really is just reciting what happened when they darkened our door in 2010. Yet beneath the piece it is signed off as 'VH Group' as though they wrote it, which they obviously didn't. Two photographs used - one when the Queen came to Ewood and they turned up for their big moment and the other with the two idiot brothers at a game. The caption erroneously states that the photo is at Ewood for a game against Aston Villa, which is incorrect, the photo used is from the final game of the season at Wolves when their operation to relegate us nearly came to fruition in their first season. Obviously there's zero reference to any accomplishments beyond becoming the first Indian owners of a (former) PL Club, vague references to investments in the Club and town (no specifics) and the Queen visiting. Quite the highlights reel from 15 years of ownership. Clearly no sporting accomplishments to mention nor any recent photos given their absence and no comments from the villains themselves who couldn't even make the effort for this occasion. -

My problem with Hedges was when I thought we were close to a squad capable of top 6, I felt Hedges was one of the players who we should have been able to replace and improve upon. He was one of the weaker links when he started. Now I feel we have a squad that should be bottom half, Hedges becomes a valuable cog. He's one of the few proven Championship players we have. At no time has he been as useless as some would have you believe, although if you'd have asked me my opinion on the train back from Preston a couple of years ago I'd have given you a different comment ! I think some people gave up with him that night. -

I’m not really that bothered about Derby either way, same with Eustace and the rest of them, would love a win but be quite happy with a point with the injuries we have. -
Fans Forum/Roverstore/Commercial Chat
47er replied to Riverside under the drip's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The main point coming out of all this is that the Club is circumventing the rules established by law which enable/enforce genuine dialogue between supporters and their club. The Fans Forum is an anachronism. it invites those it likes to join it. It has never had any dialogue with supporters, it has become a little clique for those who believe they are special and who regard others as irrelevant. It sees its function as to continue its special relationship with the Club's admin and to prevent genuine dialogue which it regards as "rocking the boat". In the words of Oliver Cromwell: "You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go.”
