  1. Past hour
  2. Pasha and Rudy probably lied to him about how far along negotiations were and then did the old "oh the deadline is today?" work scramble.
  3. Can't remember the last time we had odds as low as 4/11 for a home win! I know Sheff weds have been in worse form than us like but we still have the issue of needing to score. A change in manager and going back to basics and a something like a 442 can work as Carrick has shown, only difference being he has the likes of Cunha at his disposal 🙁 Above all else the players didn't seem aligned with VI, or that they particularly liked him or his tactics. Johnson I assume is reasonably well liked at the clubs, he and whoever the permanent boss is needs to get the players on board with him and make it so they'd run through brick walls for him. Ultimately the players are extremely well paid and its disappointing that they should ever underperform based on who their manager is, but it's not exactly a rare occurrence in football. We'll definitely see a few changes tonight, probably a reflection of who's worked their bollocks off in training. I'm going for a 3-0 home win, Cantwell, Moroshita and Yuki all on the scoresheet.
  4. Today
  5. The new title of this topic has brightend my day.
  6. Had JDT been suitably backed we would have had Premier League Footy by now. So, what the hell difference does it make how good of a manager we get. The best and brightest don not get backed and leave with us looking good for playoffs. Venkies gotta go all there is to it unless that happens we are on a merry go round, a slide more like.
  7. Gerrard didn’t do that well with rangers btw, 1/9 trophy’s won in a 2 team league and then bombed with Villa. Don’t see him as the man to drag us to safety and then don’t see him sticking around for league 1. No thanks from me
  8. Steven Gerrard is a good shout. Might fancy it and stay in his house.
  9. Why should we not give it to DJ if he strings some results together.
  10. Timing of the sacking on transfer deadline day is just weird. It is as though the Raos now have so little time to be bothered with Rovers that they have been relying on monthly bs reports from Pasha - injuries, refs, unusual monsoon weather, underlying financial plan working, blah blah - but suddenly noticed match day receipts falling off a cliff and the league table in the January month end report and panicked. Pasha gets a carpeting and Ishmael gets the chop. This could be opportunity knocks for Damien Johnson and not a case of a planned replacement
  11. Obviously, you have someone on your short list that’s available? As I said, make the right choice. I don’t think we should go back to Mowbray, & I’m not full of confidence with the other names being floated. I’m not being a wise-guy- who do you have in mind?
  12. If it's consistent with the last 15 years it probably will be duff...and I don't mean Damien. When did he suddenly become volatile?
  13. Was the right decision though in the end! Fucking clueless manager.
  14. Just think the balance of probability, based on the evidence we have both in terms of Ismaels flaky character and how things are said to have happened here in the past, suggests things have finally come to a head and something has given. At some point in the future Suhail or someone will say the order came from the owners or Val chose to leave. Truth = the middle somewhere.
  15. That does seem feasible. Hope the new manager/Coach rates Jorgensen or that could end up a very costly mistake.
  16. I'm not sure I care right now who we get. They'll be shit, and if they're not, they'll ditch us when the club fails them, leaving us back at square one. Sick of this fucking purgatory.
  17. No you're right. I thought about that as soon as I'd posted. He was disillusioned with the Trust though.
  18. We know it'll be a fool who'll be next, so we may as well hire a complete outsider for a laugh. Either they'll walk this time next year so I expect Frank Rijkaard or Edgar Davids even though they've not managed for a decade. Famous name and all that.
  19. I think the easier 2+2=; We made no more signings today and signed a cheap punt on Sunday because it cost us £1+million to say bye Val.
  20. I just find it impossible to believe Gestede sacked him he'd never have that authority no matter how much sway he might think he has. I could however see Ismael storming off he has form for it but if the axe has truly come it's because Balaji has got out of the right side of bed after having an early night for once.
  21. This will be interesting. We are all hoping for a Carrick style bump. A loyal Rovers player and club man coming in as caretaker manager. Win handsomely and it will be down to players not able to express themselves. Draw or lose then it doesn’t matter who we bring in, we are rather screwed as we are incapable of rising to the occasion against a very tired youth team.
  22. That wouldn't have happened. 2 weeks or so ago he insisted he wasn't at all worried and we'd be fine when we got everyone back from injury.
  23. I've already covered it several times over even before he was potted but seeing as you only grace us with your special brand of arrogance occasionally i'll repeat it. Look no further than Gary Rowett. I also said Duff would be fine as a punt if we were ambling along safely going nowhere or it was summer.
  24. Agree with a heavy heart!
  25. I said hopefully. I dont know. I only really commented on the people I have seen mentioned, I havent looked into who might be available. And with these owners and this board, I dont have hope.
  26. @roversfan99 who are the credible alternatives
  27. Probably went along the lines of 'I've been waiting to be sacked for weeks can't you see i can't do anything with this shite you've given me' We can't afford to pay you off. 'Ok i'll take half you useless streak of piss' Done ! That means we don't have to sign anybody now so fook off !
