McLoughlin got the armband yesterday after Wharton went off so I guess they will stick with that with Tronstad also out. -

Super write up Happy 150TH Blackburn Rovers 🔵⚪️ Cant think of anything id rather spend my time doing more than supporting the team in Blue n White. Goes without saying my greatest memory will be the realisation of winning the Premier league. Seems like a repetitive story year on year but what a magical time to be alive. The pinnacle of English football, reached by a small cotton town. The pride was like a drug, summer holidays sporting my Rovers shirt felt like I was 10 foot tall, the buzz about the town, people shopping on a Saturday every corner a Rovers shirt and the full kit kids doing a big shop. My first game in the 80s got me hooked, sitting on my Dad's shoulders as we walked down Livesey Branch Road old fellas smoking cigars in front of us before we took to our wooden seats in Nuttall Street, not too far a view from where I sit today in JW Upper. Be proud today of what we have achieved and when the time is right, pass the baton down to others. The Blue and White flame won't go out, unless we let it. 1875 - Forever and ever

Not keen on the "stumbled" opinion to be honest. Kevin Gallagher said the same about Mowbray when we went on a good run, rather than hold his hand up give credit where it was due. It's like putting a win down to luck. -

Hard game this. They've won 4 on the spin and have a few players in the side and manager who will want to prove a point back at Ewood. Weve just lost our GK,CB and CM as well. This has a slip up written all over it. Id take a draw at the moment and move on. -

Has to be the concern. Squad is really thin beyond the first 11 or so and we may need to peel too far beyond that main team on Saturday. -

Obviously the first goal is important but we lost v Swansea, Birmingham and Sheff United after scoring the first goal. And our only home win (and draw) came after conceding first. -

Confident with this one. Think we can win this one and head into the international break full with confidence to face pne. Concerned about the injuries hopefully not too bad. Wouldn’t mind a draw. 0-0 -

I'm going for a 1-1 comeback draw. We need to score first to keep our heads up. Play like we have in last few games though and it's ours for the taking -

Are we even sure that it has been proven beyond doubt that the white shirt with a maltese cross was our first ever shirt? (i know what it says on the rovers' website, but do we have any factual evidence?) -

It's been a great 2 weeks since that Sheffield Utd game. I think this will be one game too far for our fragile squad though, Toth, Wharton and Tronstad missing on top of Cantwell makes this game really difficult for us I think. Expect Riberio to come as the left sided centre back with McLoughlin moved to the centre. Derby are in even better form than us too. Felt at the start of the season that this would be one of the biggest humiliations of the venkys era with out ex manager, staff, captain & god knows how many players coming back on our birthday to take the piss. Rovers 0 Derby 2 Hope I'm wrong. -

This is it. We have lost all these games, but Charlton and 2nd half of Sheff Utd aside, I think we’ve looked pretty good really. We’d be towards the top of the table with better refs (a few clear cut pens denied), less rain, and a better chance conversion. I backed us for top 6 when the odds mooned up, purely based on statistics and the eye test. Probably money in the bin but felt like positive expected value there. -
Eustace returns to Ewood on our 150th anniversary.... Can Rovers extend their run and spoil the party for the Rovers reserves....

I thought the 2nd half against Sheff Utd at home recently was our line in the sand, hitting rock bottom. I thought that we as club, and Ismael, wouldn't recover from it - for me it was one of the worst performances in recent years. Seemingly the players have also alluded to having similar feelings (Wharton's interview in particular), maybe they've collectively decided it just wasn't good enough and it's been a wake up call for them too. Last night they reminded me of a Hughes team, they were getting properly stuck in and putting bodies on the line. Fair play to them, I really doubted their resolve but they've proved me wrong. -

Just savouring the moment. Football's about hope, hope you'll beat the dingles, hope you'll get the rub of the green against the team trouncing everyone, and hope you'll stay up or go up. And only the team you watch gives you that hope. I had my doubts, and watching the blues had become painful, but these last three games have given me enough hope to think we won't be in a relegation battle. COYB! Bring on Eustace -

Three wins on the bounce, very good. Last night, especially 2nd half, a dire watch. How anyone can criticise Big Sam's football when we were getting results against all comers in the PL!!! Ismael seems to have hit upon a formation that works for us - would be folly to change it, our players need to develop and grow within that system. Injuries to Toth (huge worry with a knee and seemed to be playing with issue until forced to come off) and Wharton (shouldn't play on Saturday <three games in a week> even if 'fit' given what he's coming back from) big worries, compounded by Tronstad's suspension, will sadly show how shallow our squad is on quality. -

I felt like Toth was struggling a bit throughout the match I noticed fairly early on after a few goal kicks he seemed to be stretching his knee like it was bothering him. Wouldn't surprise me if he started with a bit of a knock and it's turned into something worse. -

Well, well what a change in fortunes. Honestly, I felt we were down and out after some dismal results and a complete lack of championship experience. 3 games later and we're looking transformed. Solid at the back, dangerous going forward, comfortably beating 2 of the best teams in the league away from home, and the new signings starting to settle in and look very good players at this level. All the more impressive that it's been done without Cantwell, who is by far our best player. The change in formation has been a game changer. Just suits the players more and keeps us tighter at the back. Of the new signings, Alebiousu has been a real find. Has to be one of the best RBs in the league right now. Miller is everything I like in a defender, McLaughlin is a cool head at the back, De Neve looks good at wing back, Gudjohnsen is firing, TGH is a workhorse in the middle, and Mori is very industrious. Still think there's more to come from him. Tavares and Henriksson yet to shine. Toth and Wharton injuries are a worry. Ironic that Toth could have sat on a deckchair all game last night as he had nothing to do...yet gets injured. There was always a danger of Wharton picking up an injury playing so many games in quick succession. -
Oh it's a disaster if Toth is injured. He's so much better than Pears it's untrue.
-
He did have plenty of clean sheets by my recollection but that was more down to the defence than him making saves. He can make good saves, his main problem is indecision, he just doesn't know whether to go for the ball or stay on his line, so he ends up doing neither. He won't be a catastrophe but Toth definitely has won us some points by making spectacular stops. Given that we don't score many that has been important
