Middlesbrough just sacked Carrick, no big surprise I wonder if Steve Cooper or Rob Edwards are the most likely options there. That leaves Boro, Bristol City and QPR(?) on the look out for new managers.

He'll likely leave this window because the club want rid of him. He's at an age we don't want to be giving contracts out, he's on a wage that we are looking to cut, we have allowed his contract to run down without renewing it and we want to get our hands on the hard cash that only he and a few others will be able to command from other clubs. The fact he has had a good season merely means even more of a desire to cash in from Rovers and potentially more interest from rivals. We don't want to renew his contract, or anyone else's, hence no talks, as confirmed by Travis, Tronstad and Brittain in recent interviews. In a normal world he would be under contract for another 3 years already, that's what a normal football club would have done by now and there's absolutely no reason why we couldn't have done that and he would have signed, had we really wanted to.

Jackson is merely reporting what's going on. We've let too many players go for free so I think it's sensible from the club's pov to grab a fee while we can. I'm sure he's being touted around by his agent and has better offers than what he's getting here. Would be great if we can renew his contract but I fully expect Brittain to leave this window after the season's he's just had.

What's the starting point for 'credible offers' though? If the Venkys want their £200m back (I remain unconvinced it's all their money, but I digress) I can't see any of us having such contacts - nor is the club worth anything like that. It's an easy bar for the (now two) stooges to set though, knowing nobody is going to clear it.

Would there be any legs in engaging other supporter bases who are / have gone through similar owner issues? Blackpool, Charlton, Reading, Pompey, Coventry even Liverpool fans to form some form of solidarity statement or actions? Getting a huge supporter base to make a bit of noise such as Liverpool fans would attract a lot of interest I would imagine

I know the coalition has succeeded in driving Waggott out and are now gunning for the other two. I don't know if it is common knowledge yet, or even significant, but the house in at area where Pasha lives, appears to have been vacated.

Just a recap Two and a half months ago we had No Coalition. We had Jack a brfcs poster reaching out and hitting a brick wall to try and get something moving. His passion and drive was something I felt I could get involved with and many others felt the same and also joined to form a powerful voice. Fast forward to present day. Every supporter group bar one and we are trying to get this one is part of the Coalition. Our first action was applying pressure on Suhail, Waggott and Gestede with the total vote of no confidence. This lead to the three coming out into the open and one has now gone. The pressure on the other two will remain. The global press our now covering our story and desire for the removal of the Raos and their band of merry men. Our story is going back into parliament and we've now got the MPs backing the Coalition. We've so much going on across a near 30 person panel it's quite extraordinary in such a short space of time. Things evolve by the minute and it's hard graft, extremely hard graft as our family time and in some cases taking days of work is being totally used up to force a better future. We are still in our infancy and many things need to be agreed, formulated and developed. We have no funds , just hard grafting people trying to make a positive difference for something we commonly share, our club. Given the democratic make up (we don't need politics) we have to balance everything and get a majority buy in on all things. No one person leads the coalition, it's a collective group of people. Anybody can get involved and shape it's future. There really is no blue print for the journey we are on. Other clubs supporters actually use previous Rovers supporter actions for their blueprints. I think we've come a long way in a short space of time, but have a long way to go. Its going to have it's bumps on the way, as we are all human. We are all just football supporters equal to the next and don't have all the answers.

Selling Brittain for say £3m and getting in Dramaeh for £1m and less wages would be right up this lot's street. Cooney hasn't been credibly linked. Definitely either Trav or Tonstrad, Trav is my guess.

That's one hell of a document to read and I would imagine most ordinary fans (myself included) are unlikely to read it and understand it. Fair play to the coalition for doing so and Mashed Potato too and any other fan who has.

I’ve said before from my time in the Trust, in addition to those who made public offers (The two Ian’s, and the Qataris), there are at least 4 potential owners (I believe all are consortia) who had maintained an interest from when they first privately engaged Venkys up to at least the point I left the Trust a couple of years ago. That means they were still interested during our L1 season. Nobody should underestimate the appeal to new potential owners of the ‘kudos’ of ‘taking a founding member of the FL and PL back to the top’. It holds real appeal for those people that can afford to play Football Manager in real life. But it continues to beg the questions: Why does that not appeal to Venkys? Why do they not sell or seek external investment? What is in it for them to cling to our carcass?

Of course, Glen, has to piece by piece, Apologies if I misread your post, as it initially red to me that though some may want a sale, a strong board was actually the aim. If that’s an initial, short term aim as we work towards a sale, then fair enough, who could disagree with that - as after fifteen years we know they won’t ever change course, or run the club in a professional way to help this club fulfill its potential, so a sale has to be the ultimate aim.

Thank you for this. I think the club with its history and excellent Academy would attract potential purchasers without too much difficulty. The difficult issue would be negotiating a price.

Yep they're playing the textbook 'player wants away' strategy and as correctly pointed out above phase 1 of that is to try and convince as many people as possible that the club has been hard at work trying to tie said player down to a bumper new long term contract. Immediately shifts the attention away from Rovers and on to the player. Next up it will be talk about the player wanting to play in the Premier League, or having family ties down South, or being offered highest paid player status but refusing to sign. Again cleverly shifting blame away from the club and onto the player or circumstances outside of our control. Seen it all before. Its such a shame that some still can't see what they are up to. The problem they will face is they are going to have to repeat this game 3-4 times this summer with Travis, Dolan, Brittain and Tronstad. They already came with the 'family ties on the continent' rubbish with Tronstad which he swiftly silenced with his interview soon after declaring he would be happy to stay.

My hunch is that fans are likely to be disappointed; I've seen comments on here about fans getting "more power" whereas that power is really limited to various heritage issues like club name or colour of shirts. I suspect it won't be too long before the Regulator is one of the most unpopular people in the country.
