  1. Past hour
  2. Well they're not doing a very good job of it thus far. Even if the signings who've come in are up to the sort of standard required we appear to be assembling a squad potentially completely overloaded with midfielders and barely any striking options/complete lack of goals in it.
  3. Regarding Trav, I suspect he isn't going to sign a contract and is stringing us along to go to Derby on a bigger wage in a year under a gentleman's agreement. If so, get him sold now. I know he's the club captain, I know things are shit at the club but just take the money and get a few more bodies in the door. You can't have your captain not being 100% commited, players will pick up on it.
  4. We also have to consider that the idiots that own & run Rovers are not the same people who founded & built up Venkys in the first place. They inherited it from their parents The V H Group is controlled by the family of Dr. B. V. Rao. His daughter, Anuradha Desai, is serving as group chairperson since his death in 1996.[2] His sons B Balaji Rao and Venkatesh Rao sit on the board of the group's companies
  5. Wouldn’t read too much into fans comments regarding players
  6. 1-0 or 1-1 at best. 24,100 Tough game for Rovers to start the Season,be interesting to see how the new players cope with the physicality of the Championship.
  7. Trouble with all this cost-cutting is that once the cuts are in place, there is generally no further room for manouvre, and there are generally only two ways out a lowest cost base approach (spend more, or stop doing business). It is a move straight out of the Michael Porter play book for generic strategy - but unfortunately, the approach is based on manufacturing and process industry, not something amorphous and dynamic like a professional football club. I suspect that Rudy has read the 60 second MBA or some similar book (I say 'read' when perhaps it is more likely he's listened to sound bites / TeD Talks on his car ICE when driving between latte emporia). These aren't business people, people. These are amateurish, desperate, misinformed charlatans masquerading as football club officials. Out with the lot of them. VENKYS PSEUDO BUSINESS CHARLATANS AND PATSIES OUT!!
  8. I agree on all this...De Neve will struggle I think, seems to press well and has a good engine but I think that's about it. Hopefully I'm wrong but says it all when fans Kortrijk were scratching theirs heads on the move.
  9. Sandi Stewart - My Colouring Book
  10. You might be right, but I don't think even losing ten on the bounce would have produced that bizarre 'press conference' from Waggott, Pasha and Gestede or the flurry of other media appearances/interviews from Gestede, Yasir Sufi, et al. For a decade, most Rovers fans hadn't even heard of Pasha, now everyone knows he is the main man at the club and he's under much more scrutiny. For that reason alone, I can't accept that it wasn't a good idea to change tack. I had no personal involvement in it whatsoever, I've nothing to gain from saying it was a good idea btw. On the other hand, if you're right and the majority of Rovers fans don't think it was a good move, we're back to the problem of what can/should anyone be doing about the situation? I don't think people should sit on their hands and accept our lot. I don't know what much else there is that can be done which is within the law to get attention at the ground or in the media. Was it not better to try something different? I'm glad they gambled and did something else. The 'majority of fans' , 'young and old' seemed to think it was a good idea to wave inflatable snakes and boo John Eustace throughout the Derby County match. Was that a good idea, no? Was he blameless in orchestrating his move? No, but the fans deciding to target him non-stop for 90 minutes was embarrassing, achieved nothing and was the perfect outcome for the people running the club.

  12. I hope they do recognise it, I really do. Everything seems like a cost cutting exercise with these lot though.
  13. He hasn't been offered a contract. So any head turning or wanting away has been caused by Rovers making it clear he won't be getting a suitable offer to stay here.
  14. Makes no sense, thats why. Came out with some crap which is just typical managing expectations spiel in the main. The idea that he didnt want promotion didnt make sense on any level. Illogical, conspiracy theorist nonsense. It would have been a massive pay rise and a huge boost to his CV. Just wasnt capable which is a seperate matter. Hence why in that last season he got publically pissed off with the owners for doing what they do best to every manager we have and totally cut away any prospect of promotion. Either way, the way his name triggers some all these years after is really unhealthy.
  15. We want rid, hence not offering him a new deal, as confirmed multiple times by the player himself.
  16. I expect Axel to be announced today. I think Axel and Miller will be very shrewd signings and our best two this summer so far. If Baradji ever gets done, which I think he will eventually, then that's a trio of smart signings. Aggressive, physical players who have the right mindset and physical traits for the Championship. I think Tavares is also a shrewd signing and McLaughlin is solid. De Neve I'm not convinced about but, equally, don't know too much about him. Doesn't look to have the physicality for the Championship and not known for his technical ability either. Purely workrate and versatility; perhaps a better version of Chris Taylor. A decent squad player but the issue for us is that he looks like he's going to be a starter. Alebiosu is someone who I think will be out of his depth at this level and will be shipped out within 12 months but I could be wrong!
  17. You stole my post i was just about to say that. He did turn into a bit of an arse those last 2 years but before that i think he was just fence sitting as they all do because he had no real idea what was going on. I get the impression from outside that this Suhail character plays lord almighty not to be questioned, don't ask him he'll ask you if he wants to speak to you type thing. I think Mowbray was probably as frustrated as anyone else but rather stupidly he started having digs at fans and reporters. He was the one though always fronting questions on behalf of the whole club whilst his CEO rarely spoke and the guy really running the show hid away. For half a million quid a year though anybody would probably just toe the line but some of the stuff he came out with was certainly a bit twatish and definitely soured what should arguably have been a decent legacy here.
  18. I agree about those 2. We've lacked a bit of aggression for a while. You need the odd Andy Todd character out there.
  19. And he drove an oil tanker. Mowbray was a bit of an 'oil tanker'
  20. Then sell him. He's not a good enough footballer to be effective if his head has been turned. Nor is he going to be an effective captain if he wants away.
  21. That would probably be about a 60% reduction of wages for our starting midfield, Pasha will be rubbing his hands with glee at the thought
  22. Enjoyed it? Wouldn’t go that far played around 10 games for them and 3/4 last 5mins enjoyed not being under JDT but as a footballer wouldn’t have enjoyed going there to play little football
