  1. Past hour
  2. The first record is brilliant, after that it's all a bit bland and boring for me.
  3. It was quite surreal, sat in a church pew, drinking alcohol and watching a rock band in a church but a great way to raise revenue for said church. Harry Redknapp is doing an evening with next month. I'm sure it won't be a "Sportsman's Dinner" type evening with it being in a church, more gentle and funny anecdotes and a Q+A session. I won't be going. πŸ˜‚
  4. For me playing Ohashi as a No 9 is similar to us trying to play Simon Garner as a No 9. He’d give it a good go but he’d be way better playing off another striker. As he was. Unfortunately nobody plays that way anymore.
  5. Great win and performance all round πŸ† On the itv highlights show, although we weren't last on, we had the shortest and poorest quality video of the game. Do they get footage from the Rovers end or do itv send their own cameras?
  6. The Rovers fans didn't seem as numerous as usual? Is that fair comment? Any particular reason? I always celebrate when we win, I know of no other way. But the reality of where we are heading soon comes back to haunt me.
  7. Ohashi is getting better at shielding the ball, much improved overall this season but needs more goals. TGH was able to direct from midfield and is strong in the tackle. Ideal from the bench or if Tronstad is injured or suspended. Great to see shots from outside the box.
  8. Wilder returning to Bramall Lane , you cannot script football !
  9. When we win it makes my weekend. If we lose my weekend is ruined. I have a tee shirt from β€œ Philosophy Football β€œ which has a quote ( alledgedly from Henrik Ibsen, that famous Scandanavian international ) in big letters on the front, it says - β€œ If the game is lost your earthly life is WASTED β€œ. That sums it up for me. For a short period of time I can forget all about the Chicken Chokers.
  10. The Scott Wharton thing brought genuine joy, as we watched on TV... And I ended up telling my offspring about the League Liner and a previous away win at Watford with goals from Endean, Napier and Field... Over 50 years ago!!
  11. If he keeps it up, I imagine Brighton will recall him and loan him to a championship club...Will be interesting to see how he copes.
  12. Enjoyed the result but the main problem remains...the detested Venkys
  13. It's not all rosy again, but I do think there is something in what you say. The buzz of a win lances the boil/diminishes the energy for the (necessary) protest......temporarily..
  14. Today
  15. He was a 19 year old kid herre, in a higher league, its amazing what a year can do at that age
  16. Anyone noticed ACD is tearing it up at Bolton, scoring worldies ever week it seems. Not sure what happened here, just didn't look up to it physically
  17. Agree totally. Even when I was boycotting under Kean and Coyle, I still kicked every ball and cheered any Rovers goal! Surely, it is possible to despise Venky's, have grave misgivings about Gestede and Suhail...yet enjoy a good away win... On the other hand, someone said to me yesterday, it's a bit like getting a lovely new guitar, when you have just received a terminal diagnosis! I guess it is summed up by the old phrase: "Love Rovers/Hate Venky's"..
  18. I’ve never been a fan to be honest but it looks like you had a great night.
  19. We played really well yesterday and, on the face of it, we deserve to be on more than 6 points so far. This is the Championship, there are plenty of sides around us at the moment who will finish in the top half. There's no reason that we can't go from our slow(ish) start to once again challenging for the playoffs. It's possible to dislike the regime, acknowledge that there is plenty wrong with the club, but still enjoy a performance like yesterday's and be excited about a couple of the new signings.
  20. I thought it was a pen too. Inthink ref did not give it cos the ball had got away from him, shouldn't matter but it dies seems to at times. We get lots of pens waved away.
  21. Ohashi for me is very like Hedges. Maybe nothing special on the ball, but absolutely first class off it. Those sorts of players get very underrated. A big part of why we looked so comfortable all game imo is the vast amount of pressing work those two get through. Ohashi also linked up really well with Mori and Cantwell. They are both undropable at the moment for me, though obviously Gudjonsen needs to come in somewhere. Id still put Cantwell deeper and drop Tavares, put Mori at number 10, Hedges left, Ohashi right and Gudjonsen up top.
  22. Believe me, I hate our owners, but I still love us winning matches a hell of a lot more.
