Ozz Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Anywhere in Manchester that serves Bratwurst and Kolsh? There's a little kiosk at the bottom of Market Street that sells the sausage, not sure about the Kolsh though Tris!
SAS Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 For parking, park on the LOWRY centre i park there for england games and am home within 50minutes of the match finishing
stuwilky Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Room booked. £26 Manchester "Central" Travel lodge - Ancoats still has rooms available (but devalued as Ive just found out who is staying there!)
American Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Anyone travelling to and from London the day of the match? I'm flying in early Sunday and back early Monday. Was looking to either meet up with someone and take the train or catch a ride.
gazsimm Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 i am on a freebie, know some contacts at old trafford
Tris Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Not happy we're wearing our away kit, seeing as we were out of the hat first surely we had first choice?
rover_groo Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Not happy we're wearing our away kit, seeing as we were out of the hat first surely we had first choice? Not sure the way this is controlled, but I think we had a decision like this before in one of the domestic cups. However don't forget about the Basel game when we had to wear out away kit and romped home to an impressive 3-0 win. Maybe Basels kit clashed with ours. Not sure. Anyway, I booked my flights at lunchtime yesterday and quite a few others followed suit. Should have at least 10 persons going over from 'Our Wee Country', to this game, 16 for Reading at the last league game of the season and who know's if we reach fhe final!!
pksrover Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Room booked. £26 Manchester "Central" Travel lodge - Ancoats still has rooms available (but devalued as Ive just found out who is staying there!) that hotel is quite nice, 24 hour bar with decent prices. £2.50 for a pint of lager, £2 for a Bells whiskey
Will Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Were in the East Stand, and we've been allocated 30,000 tickets. In the news section on the official site.
vyeo Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Not happy we're wearing our away kit, seeing as we were out of the hat first surely we had first choice? We'll save the blue/white for Wembley. Both times we've worn red in the cup this season, we've scored four. Is that a sign?
RevidgeBlue Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Not happy we're wearing our away kit, seeing as we were out of the hat first surely we had first choice? Best not to complain too much, we've practically handed given a home game as it is. I commented the other night to Paul that imo our kit and Chelsea's black away kit wasn't the most obvious contrast. (No-one agreed with me!)

Paul Mellelieu Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Old Trafford is 20 minutes walk from our house, but I'll miss the experience of being part of the blue and white convoy of coaches, minibuses and cars making its way down the 61. Maybe a meet-up the night before hosted by the Mancunian branch?
Pugg Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 i am on a freebie, know some contacts at old trafford Have I ever told you I like your posts Gaz? Gonna book the Monday of work so I can have a drink in Manchester after the match
Saltysellars Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 We're going to be wearing RED for the semi-final. Gutted. Saving the famous blue and white halves for Wembley then
RovertheHill Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I think PB is referring to me! Unfortunately I retired from UU 2 years ago. Anyway I did occasionally park at Oakland House but it's dreadful to get out of after the match - Talbot Road gets completely bunged up. I'll be on the tram - the key is to use it from Eccles end and don't try coming from Manchester. Ah, only problem with the tram is I live Bury side! Sounds like Lowry is best place to park
Ozz Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Red has been a very lucky shirt this season for us. Wore for wins at Bolton, Man City, Wigan, Reading, Everton (FA Cup), Luton (FA Cup) Krakow. In fact we have won every FA cup match this season in which we played in red.
sleepyjack Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Not happy we're wearing our away kit, seeing as we were out of the hat first surely we had first choice? It's decided on a coin toss for games played at a neutral venue.

Ozz Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I highly recommend the Comedy Store on Whitworth Street..It's where McClaren took the England players before the England Match.. Obviously influenced the performance at Old Trafford.
only2garners Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Ah, only problem with the tram is I live Bury side! Sounds like Lowry is best place to park You can still drive round the M60 and park at Ladywell and get the tram from there.
