joey_big_nose Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Having seen him "play" I'd take that down a tad. Average at his best. He is a very good player who lost his way at Celtic. We are full of players like that in our squad (Dunn, Cruz, McCarthy, Bentley, Warnock) who Sparky turned round. I guess if he was availble for a small fee, say 1m, and convinced Hughes that he had the required dedication then our manager would be interested.
Ricky Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 If there is anytruth in the Huddlestone rumour i'd be very pleased. Think he is a very very good prospect.
Billy Castell Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I'd say Huddlestone is 'solid'. If he came, and Tugay took him under his wing..................... Okay, I'm dreaming here, and it would be great if Benni left for £10m, to be replaced by Adriano for a similar fee. Well if Boro are linked with him again............... Okay I'm coming back to the real world now.
EwoodGlory Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I doubt the Huddlestone deal is true, though they are desperate for someone on the left, so may offer him as part of a Pedersen bid to tempt Sparky
roversmum Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Sometimes (in fact most of the time), I'm glad there is only one Sparky...............
LWX Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 have i missed something....is someone about to table a serious bid for peders??
joey_big_nose Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 have i missed something....is someone about to table a serious bid for peders?? Seems to have only been reported on a couple of dodgy sites, but there is a lot of speculation and we do know Spurs are interested. Can't see it happening though - we don't have someone who can play that role long term and improve the team, nor do I think we can find one before the window closes. MGP has his weanesses and his strengths but he is committed and when in form a terrific player. We should hold on.
Mozzer Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 i see zak knight is going aston villa for 4million, even tho he is really rubbish, i think fulham will struggle more then i expected.. is there any more on roberts to fulham??? is it true about huddlestone to blackburn??? is shorey going west ham??? is nolan going everton??? is it true spurs and liverpool have tabled a bid for pedersen??? doesnt matter if you cant/dont answer them..thanks for all your input anywho...
LWX Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 yup would agree with that......the only reason we should sell him is if someone comes in for him and peders kicks up a big fuss and obviously wants out.......but i cant see that happening.
broadsword Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Sometimes (in fact most of the time), I'm glad there is only one Sparky............... You and me both Mum.
tchocky Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Huddlestone, now there's a prospect. Jol was talking him up just the other day when he was missing for their game. Zokora was benched against Manure while Huddlestone started the game (back from suspension/injury?). Can't be anything in that story. Can't see them selling him.
nicko Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 is there any more on roberts to fulham??? is it true about huddlestone to blackburn??? is shorey going west ham??? is nolan going everton??? is it true spurs and liverpool have tabled a bid for pedersen??? 1 - No, too expensive. 2 - Doubt it. Where would he play? Midfield looked good on Saturday. 3 - Possibly, if they cough up the cash. 4 - No way. 5 - On current form I don't think so. Can't see Rovers selling just now. The plan is to keep them all together for the time being at least.
Cocker Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 is shorey going west ham??? And if they did get him where the hell would he play? (that wasnt a dig at you by the way) Would they drop Neil (their captain) or move him to the middle? The world has gone mad
Hughesy Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I think if we get anything £12million + for either McCarthy or Pedersen before Friday then we should seriously consider.
philipl Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 What for? There is no time to spend it other than over-priced rubbish who will want bigger wages than our players are on.
MI ROVER Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I think if we get anything £12million + for either McCarthy or Pedersen before Friday then we should seriously consider. Don't be daft and who would we replace them with on Friday ?? Our club for once is going forwards not backwards. If we needed too sell for finances they would have been gone already
MarkBRFC Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I think if we get anything £12million + for either McCarthy or Pedersen before Friday then we should seriously consider. Daft comment, selling any of our first team players now would be a big step backwards after the good work we appear to have done this summer.
philipl Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 If Liverpool and West Ham couldn't get Defoe out of Spurs, why will Rovers be successful? Besides which Defoe is third rate compared with Benni. That hole you are digging Hughesey is just getting deeper....
BlueMonday Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Daft comment, selling any of our first team players now would be a big step backwards after the good work we appear to have done this summer. Agreed, plus they have plenty of contract time to run, Sparky holds all the cards
Hughesy Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Only thinking really in terms of Benni and if he isnt happy, because i dont think he looks the same player on the pitch this season, like he isnt happy! With clubs desperate, if a daft amount came in, then I would say Sell. Only a daft amount though, and obviously we would need a replacement set up.
Mozzer Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 And if they did get him where the hell would he play? (that wasnt a dig at you by the way) Would they drop Neil (their captain) or move him to the middle? The world has gone mad shorey is a left back, therefore at left back, george mcartney usually plays there, im guessing you think he is a right back???
