nicko Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 The Mark Hughes-Tottenham link had me thinking...and just found this. Not sure you can trust the guy who wrote it, mind you. http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/pr...rticle73881.ece After this story came out - and when Sparky came to Blackburn - I asked him about it and he just smiled. I think you will find it was correct.

Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Uhm, you do realise your first two paragraphs are identical
LWX Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 If Hughes goes to Spuds I'll follow fencing for the rest of my life!!!!
nicko Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Uhm, you do realise your first two paragraphs are identical It's either the magic of the internet...or so good I wrote it twice.
USABlue Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 It's either the magic of the internet...or so good I wrote it twice. Was so crap I only read it once so you wasted your time
LeftWinger Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 It will be Megson. Bolton will still have to pay compensation even if they dont appoint him now I would have thought. Gartside isn't going to agree compensation then not have him as manager.
modes98 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 If you join totesport through Quidco you get £30 for joining up. Totesport are also offering a matched bet promo. Basically I've registered through Quidco, downloaded £25 to my account, got another free £25 bet whaked it all on Coventry at 9-1 I missed the boat on that one ricky. Got myself a nice couple on better.com though. £4 returns £85.50 if cov go down and man u win the premiership. Also got 8/1 on cov going down in for £11. Rougly how long have they got before the suits come in Nicko?
ABBEY Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 And with posts like that, I think my fears were founded. why??? dont you think it would affect the crowd?? dont you think its right for people to discuss their fears ?? you only need to look round blackburn or any other town to see what has happened to churches, pubs ,restraunts.Need i say more than audley tyres...??? what would would happen if they just sold off the club and turned the land into houses, schools etc and funded god knows what. we should have a poll for local fans and a poll for non local fans to see who would still attend...
MCMC1875 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I was under the impression that Megson quit his Leicester job so he could talk to Bolton, i.e. Megson no longer in contract (by his own accord) with Leicester so that he could get the interview for the Bolton job. Will Mandaric take Bolton to court for this and will it be classed as "poaching"? Megson was working without a contract at Leicester.
modes98 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Megson was working without a contract at Leicester. From the articles flying around Notlob will still pay them £300k as a good will gesture as the contract had been verbally agreed and Megson was being paid under those terms.
1864roverite Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Talking of potential takeovers, did anyone else watch the owner of New England Patriots state he was ongoing with talks to puchase a Premier League Club ? I wonder if Rovers fit into his kind of thinking?? He wouldnt be drawn into whether the club was in London or not.

I wonder if Rovers fit into his kind of thinking?? He wouldnt be drawn into whether the club was in London or not. i thought that, it was certainly interesting and he was putting nothing on the table however had he said it was a london club, it could only really have been spuds or fulham, maybe why he didnt say, but only 11 clubs are up for sale ( going off the news saying 9 foreign owned) but he certainly talked up british fans
brfcshabba Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Ramos to Spurs Can you shed any more light on this Nicko?

revolutionrock! Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 CHANNEL FIVE COMMENTATOR HAS ANNOUNCED RAMOS IS NEW SPURS COACH, OFFICIAL.
nicko Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Ramos to Spurs Can you shed any more light on this Nicko? Been at Bolton...what a happy place! Megson booed, Archie Knox even booed for a substitution. Is that a record - two bosses booed in one night? Ramos is coming in the summer and the word is Gus Poyet will be his assistant and join shortly as caretaker. Does this sound familiar? Spurs did exactly the same four years ago and left David Pleat in charge while they tried to get managers to come for the long term. Then they get Santini, then it's Jol. Obviously a relief that Mark Hughes was not a target, but I suspect he would never have gone into such a shambles. One thing is sure - they won't finish above you this season now. Funny how people's misfortune can be such a good thing at times.

Exiled_Rover Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Kraft......"People in the United Kingdom and London especially are really avid sports fans. Not that I'm interested in Rovers being taken over, but the Miami Dolphins play the New York Giants at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. Perhaps this was a reference to the game taken out of context.

Bolton a shambles and certainly they've cocked up their mgr. search. Spurs, well... Spurs just being Spurs. Martin finally takes these fools out of neutral and shows them the way out of their morass & he gets the door for his troubles. Their misery is more than well deserved.
ABBEY Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Tell you what if he does get his hands on a team watch out because if you look at the dynasty hes brought to new england then whoever it is say in 3/4 years time will defo be a force to be reckoned with
Mozzer Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 so if ramos is going next season who will take over now???? any rumours of spurs' players being upset about jol leaving??? it will be interesting to see how the react on sunday..
Dunnfc Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 If we had this Kraft guy or another millionaire or whatever, could we realistically win the league again in the next 5 years say?
b12_simon Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 so if ramos is going next season who will take over now???? Hughes. Panic!
b12_simon Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 If we had this Kraft guy or another millionaire or whatever, could we realistically win the league again in the next 5 years say? Doubt it. A canny millionaire would buy a bigger club. Lifelong Rovers-supporting millionaires are probably a once-in-a-lifetime event.
