nicko Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Nicko, is it true Cardiff could be going into administration? It depends on a court case and is all a bit complicated. Iain Dowie reckons Coventry may avoid administration...so watch that space. He is looking at players for January. I don't know how they can pull off that stroke, but we shall see.

tchocky Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Useless is 28 goals from left mid in 3 seasons. Top 24 on the all time assists league for the premier league with 22 assists, which is more than the likes of Damien Duff, Robbie Keane, Harry Kewell and lots of other big names. Useless is underperforming, we all agree on that, but your criticism, shilito, is bordering on ridiculous.
LeftWinger Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Top 24 on the all time assists league for the premier league with 22 assists, As if that's true!
LeftWinger Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Check the link. They've only counted assists since 2002/03 - so that doesn't make it all-time does it
LeftWinger Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 No they shouldn't. The fact that Cantona wasn't in it, and Beckham only had 12 made me suspicious.
tchocky Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Makes Henry/Giggs stats all the more impressive
modes98 Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Iain Dowie reckons Coventry may avoid administration... I think he is talking himself into it! If they go into admin i think he will walk out the door. 7 working days left....
joey_big_nose Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 They've only counted assists since 2002/03 - so that doesn't make it all-time does it Still pretty impressive though if you think that Pedersen ahs only been in the Prem starting regularly since Jan 2004. Nonetheless I think his time with Rovers could be coming to an end. he is a plyer we can get a lot of money for who losing would not damage the team. He has easily been the poorest performer out of our starting XI this season.

He is looking at players for January. I don't know how they can pull off that stroke, but we shall see. A couple of previous posts of mine which included a bit of horse's mouth explained how. The advantage football clubs have over banks is that the banks might as well close up shop and get out of town if they are as publicly identified with wrecking the town's football club as the Co-op Bank are going to be with Coventry City. Coventry are managing the implicit threat very well- as I said, Geoffrey Robinson is an operator.
Hasta Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 No they shouldn't. The fact that Cantona wasn't in it, and Beckham only had 12 made me suspicious. As it said all seasons I immediately looked for super Stuart Ripley but alas he was not to be seen.
LeftWinger Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 As it said all seaosns I immediately looked for super Stuart Ripley but alas he was not to be seen. Rippers would be well up there you would have thought. Be interesting to see the all-time stats.
Dunnfc Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Nicko - Hughes has said the is no fall out between him and Benni. He said he spoke to him after the game. :~
philipl Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 It's the seventh day of Christmas and I opened the window on today's Mirror Anti-Rovers Advent Calendar and I found a rehash of old bad "news". Mirror colleagues getting upset that you are getting too friendly with us Nicko? No by-line.

Mirror colleagues getting upset that you are getting too friendly with us Nicko? No by-line. tbh press like this is quite good for us. it shows that we have a squad with depth and when you get your chance in the side you have to take it or get benched. as a footballer myself even though local league player, yeh its ###### being subbed or on the being on the bench so you have to prove your worth to the side. benni and robbie can go either to ways: 1. i'm not putting up with this, i'm off! 2. work hard and earn their place in the side. simple as that
philipl Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Apparently the Mail are running a story that Benni and Sav have criticised Sparky's selection policies but it is nowhere to be seen on their web site at the moment. What is on the Mail though is a headline story that Brooking and Barwick are at odds over Brookings' insistance that an English England Manager be appointed and that Curbishly should get it. Don't know what Brooking will make of Almunia being English-qualified a year from now. He's certainly miles better than any of the English English alternatives.
USABlue Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Brooking does not fill me with anymore confidence than Barwick does, they all need cleaned out and some folks put in who are in touch with footy and it's fans and not so damned up on themselves. Come on I mean it's Capello or Jose isn't it.

Mirror colleagues getting upset that you are getting too friendly with us Nicko? No by-line. No, the story is mine. It's hardly 'bad' news, it was an update on the ongoing McCarthy and Savage situations. The manager admitted he had words with the pair of them to clear the air. Mind you, it's just words really...the bottom line will be the team on Sunday and who plays and how they play. And when January comes we will see who stays and goes. The boss also admitted yesterday that TWO players have been in on trial - no names, but working on it. And basically it will have to be that cheap market...unless there is a sale. I think the next couple of months or so could be interesting.
EwoodGlory Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Is one of the trialists Nelson Cuevas? He was due at our place after his trails at Portsmouth.

Trevor Brooking has been in football too long..... he thinks that we are all as thick as them! Thats obviously a transparent attempt to 'sack' the as yet underperforming Curbishley without WHU paying compensation but actually being compensated. btw Maclaren has cost the FA big time and prob more than is being made public. Not only is his stupidly long contract being paid in full but I seem to think that Boro would have been compensated too. Anybody rem any details?
