Their website is down right now, but has anyone else seen the Sky pundits' predictions for the coming season? Three of them have us down for the drop, who are, off the top of my head, unsuprisngly Merson (who quite clearly doesn't have a clue anyway), but perhaps suprisingly Alan Mcinally and the usually pro-Rovers Charlie Nicholas.

Mcinally also critises the clubs policy of looking at lower league talent in what he describes as a 'Lawrie Sanchez' move.

Mcnally, needs a reality check if he thinks we will finish bottom three, we have signed no lower league players, we may do. What is Sky's prob with us at the moment.

Mcnally should do like most of the rest of football pundits and put there money where their mouth is and pick up a tracksuit.

1. Man U . Still better, even more so if they get Berbatov

2. Chelsea . Too soon for Phil

3. Liverpool . Hate to say it, but they have improved with Keane, also have Skrtel (sp?) for the full season

4. Arsenal . Gone backwards losing 2 key players in midfield, might end up lower

5. Totnam . Very highly rated manager, signed dome great players e.g. Bentley, defence might not be great but was improved on in January with Woodgate and Hutton... could even get fourth

6. Villa . Not flashed the cash as much as they might have, but good manager and good players

7. Portsmouth . Good strike force, good team, though a good Euro run might distract them and they may finish lower

8. Boro . Always one surprise team, Alves might fire them up the table, think Southgate might have something

9. Rovers . So hard to know what we'll do, but I'll be satisfied with this

10. Everton. Will struggle in comparison to last season if they don't make some good signings, but might get above us

11. At the moment, they still have a good team and manager, could do much better or much worse depending on what happens

12. Newcastle. Will be decent, nothing more

13. Wham. Mediocre

14. Sunderland. Maybe Chimbonda and Malbranque will help them away from relegation worries

15. Wigan. Bruce did quite well there last year

16. Fulham. AJ should score a few and teams below them are not good

17. Bolton. Lost some of their best, lucky that they have 3 poor teams coming up, though who knows, Elmander might be really good

18.West Brom . I thought they might make some bigger signings and stay up, but they haven't

19. Hull. Nothing to suggest anything else, shame

20. Stoke . Just signed Amdy Faye! Crap

Well even before all the shennanigans of the pre-season began and the supposed goings on down at old Ewood I thought we would struggle this season.

However, bar maybe Spurs (even possibly without Berbs and Keane) I don’t see anybody else who has really strengthened to the extent that it will render us also rans in the European places

What I do envisage is a Premier unlike any before with regard to the bottom 3 relegation places – and it being a constant revolving door with many teams going in and out on a regular basis . With about 10 teams battling throughout to keep away from the trapdoor – except for Stoke who could be another Derby in the making, before stabilising to the usual 3/4 teams at the end

The likes of Sunderland, Wigan, Fulham appear to be better equipped to make a better stand of it and surely the Geordies will be not be as bad as they where.

Therefore my Lawrenson report for the season is as follows:

1. CHELSKI

2. MU

3. LIVERPOOL

4. ARESNAL

5. SPURS

6. PORTSMOUTH

7. VANILLA

8. BORO – as per others the possible surprise pkg

9. ROVERS – stability

10. FOOLHAM

11. EVERTON

12. WIGAN -2nd surprise pkg

13. NEWCASTLE

14. SUNDERLAND

15. notlob

16. WBA

17. WHAM

18. CITEH

19. HULL

20. STOKE

1. Chelsea - Improved on last year and have a better manager.

2. Man Utd - Stayed the same, will Ronaldo be as good? Still quality side.

3. Liverpool - Great pairing up top, a few other decent signings.

4. Arsenal - Not improved a great deal but still better than Spurs.

5. Tottenham - Quality up top and will win alot at home, may struggle away.

6. Aston Villa - Solid base and a clever manager.

7. Everton - No additions and one loss in AJ, still good.

8. Man City - Better manager and a class striker, good season.

9. Portsmouth - Lost a great midfielder but a good striker force and coach.

10. Newcastle - Can see them carrying on the form of the end of last season, inconsistent.

11. Middlesbrough - Good buys and Afonso up front, should be tough to beat.

12. Fulham - Good strike pairing now, may slip up with injuries.

13. West Ham - A good first 11 but they get so many injuries.

14. Wigan - Good manager and tough to beat, a bit of quality with Valencia and Palacios.

15. Blackburn - Can't see us doing that well :(

16. Bolton - Still not great, no improvement really?

17. Sunderland - Struggle again, especially at the start.

18. WBA - Not better than the other 17, maybe might pip Sunderland.

19. Stoke - Will need to bully teams to stay up, will have an awful away record.

20. Hull - Not got a Prem Manager, he wont perform miracles.

:D

Have to agree, Bolton look destined to be in trouble this year.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Phil Brown 'does a Bolton' and keeps Hull up at their expense? He's copying the blueprint that made Bolton successful in his time as number two (signing big-ish names coupled with experience) and will probably go for a similar style of football.

I honestly think Hull have about as much chance of staying up as Bolton.

I couldn't name a Bolton player I'd even want as backup at Rovers, apart from maybe........ ummm..... nope, there's nobody! Bye bye Bolton!
