my_name_is_Earl Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Reality football reports BFs is currently on his phone, glass in hand in the conservatory, Mrs A and two others (poss Son Craig) are with him. No tie on now and seems pretty relaxed. thats the view on offer right now 2110hrs Haha loving it! I wonder if he notices that somebody's spying on him?! Wouldn't it be funny if he put up a picture of Ewood Park on his wall right now
Amo Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I don't want to get my hopes up, but I really hope Big Sam becomes our new manager. He'll be able to motivate the lads and play to their strengths, the way Hughes used to do.
Hi Mack Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 My God i can just see Holts story tomorrow "Blackburn full of Racist stalkers"!
my_name_is_Earl Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 To be honest, Sam wouldn't be the greatest manager we've ever had but at this stage it's horses for courses isn't it? I think he has the necessary guile to dig us out of this position and with time could take us back to where we were with Hughes. The only qualm is the long ball approach with which he is reknowned, however, if it means our home form improves, i'll happily watch it. To be honest I could care less how many coaches he has as long as results were an improvement on the field.
philipl Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I have lost track of the BBC allegations etc on Sam. What is the current status?

We didn't play the most glamorous stuff under Hughes, so I think that's an unfair criticism of Big Sam. With key players like Djorkaeff, Okocha, Diouf, Anelka etc., his tactics weren't always about long balls.
Billy Castell Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Sam would improve our defence, our organisation and fitness. That is what we need now. Souness is too 'old school' and has nearly relegated us before.
LeChuck Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 He also has that ability Hughes had to pluck players from obscure places and turn them in to good Premiership players, Ben Haim is a good example.
BuckyRover Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I'm not totally against, I just feel we are clutching at straws somewhat. He has only done well when he has had a long time to build a team, he has never performed a "rescue" mission. He strikes me as the type that needs a long time to get players that play to his system. For example, his major criticism at Newcastle was that he was trying to put square pegs into circle holes, i.e. playing long ball to Martins/Owen all the time. But we will see what happens. I hope if he comes in he does well, but I am a bit concerned.

"RESCUE MISSION??".....Cmon Bucky make your mind up,why do we need rescuing? you said it would be "OK" if we went down because ince would get us up.
BuckyRover Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 If we are contemplating sacking our manager in December, it has become a "rescue mission". That is up to the board if they choose to do that. It is also good because, the new manager will have more games than Ince and therefore it will be his fault should we go down, and then we can sack another manager.
bennyboyt11 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 grow up abbey... getting fed up of reading your childish rebuttles to everything
Amo Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 "RESCUE MISSION??".....Cmon Bucky make your mind up,why do we need rescuing? you said it would be "OK" if we went down because ince would get us up. Which should have put him straight on the ignore list.
ABBEY Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 like i give a damn...who the hell are you any way. Which should have put him straight on the ignore list. true...but i didnt
joey_big_nose Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I'm not totally against, I just feel we are clutching at straws somewhat. Well he is the only credible guy who is available. we need premiership experience, he has it in spades. i would say we are lucky there is one guy who fits the profile out there. If he wasn't it would be an absolute shot in the dark.
American Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Sam now spotted in blue and white halved boxers and a t-shirt drinking his coffee and scratching himself.
gumboots Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Sam now spotted in blue and white halved boxers and a t-shirt drinking his coffee and scratching himself. Don't. I'm eating my breakfast. The sight of Allardyce fully clothed is enough to turn my stomach so imagine what the thought of him in boxers is doing to me.
Iceman Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 We all know that deep down in your heart you absolutely love Allardyce Mrs Gumboots lol. But we will pretend that you dont. Just joking Mrs G.
Roost Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I have lost track of the BBC allegations etc on Sam. What is the current status? They probably still think that he, along with his greasball son are still as bent as a three bob note, but they seem to have more pressing issues. It will be a dark day at Ewood if that egocentric slug takes over as manager. Please JW, give PI the wigan game and let that be the start of our recovery.

Whereas the transfer dealings of Graeme Souness clearly establish his credentials as a paragon of virtue - or something.
Roost Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Whereas the transfer dealings of Graeme Souness clearly establish his credentials as a paragon of virtue - or something. Well said!!
T4E Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Have dodgy transfer dealings ever come back on a club instead of a manager? I can't think of many examples. I'm not counting Tevez as that was dodgy on a whole different scale.
Majiball Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 You may have a point there T4E, I can't think of any club in UK that has been done by the Stevens panel. So where has this is going to be canned story come from? He can't get sacked before the Wigan game I'm half way through the wigan pre-view and if he goes I'll have to start again, Give Ince more time.
